Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor

Chapter 478: Chapter 477: The Plan

Outside a cave dwelling, deep within the mountains of the Beiming Sword Sect.

Beiming Transformation Sea and several experts from the Corpse Spirit Hall stood to the side, their expressions exceedingly deferential.

Just a moment ago, Beiming Transformation Sea had relayed the news to Kun Hai that Xu Zitao had failed in his attempt to rescue the Kunpeng Ancestor.

After receiving this news, Kun Hai immediately responded that he would be coming out of seclusion.

RUMBLE!

Suddenly, the stone door of the cave dwelling thundered open.

Then, a man who stood nine feet tall, with dark-toned skin and wearing a Kunpeng-patterned Ghost Robe, walked out from within.

Though he appeared to be a middle-aged man, he was in fact over three hundred years old.

This was none other than Kun Hai of the Kunpeng Race.

As Kun Hai emerged, an ancient, primordial power radiated from him—a pressure from his very bloodline that made one’s soul tremble.

Seeing this, the faces of Beiming Transformation Sea and the experts from the Corpse Spirit Hall grew solemn, their expressions filled with reverence.

Kun Hai had thick, dark brows and an inherently imposing aura. ’So this is a descendant of the Kunpeng Race?’ Even Wei Wuya was secretly moved.

”Greetings, Elder Kun!” Beiming Transformation Sea immediately stepped forward and bowed to Kun Hai.

Even though Kun Hai was still injured, Beiming Transformation Sea dared not show the slightest bit of negligence.

This was because his lineage actually had deep ties to the Kunpeng Race.

His ancestors were servants to the Kunpeng Race.

The Beiming Lineage had established itself in the Southern Wilderness, always prepared to aid in the rescue of the Kunpeng Ancestor.

”This junior, Wei Wuya of the Corpse Spirit Hall, greets Elder Kun!”

”This junior, Xueying of the Corpse Spirit Hall, greets Elder Kun!”

...

The five experts from the Corpse Spirit Hall also bowed in salute.

”The Corpse Spirit Hall? Following the Corpse Dao... five Celestial Corpses. To think your branch of the Corpse Dao still exists in this small corner of the Southern Wilderness.” Kun Hai’s eyes flashed. After glancing at Wei Wuya, he spoke with a hint of surprise.

The Corpse Dao was considered an Evil Dao, and it once stirred up a storm of blood and slaughter in the Martial Arts World. The ancestor of the Corpse Dao even had a slight acquaintance with Kun Yi.

”We juniors have always followed our ancestral teachings, taking it as our duty to bring chaos to the world. We have never dared to be remiss. When we heard that the Beiming Sect Leader intended to lend a hand to the Kunpeng Ancestor, we came at once to join forces for this grand undertaking. To be able to meet you, Elder, is truly an honor that spans lifetimes,” Wei Wuya said with great reverence.

”To be a Celestial Corpse, yet so eloquent... it must have been difficult for you,” Kun Hai said with a slight smile.

”Heh, although this junior is a Celestial Corpse, I possess a complete consciousness,” Wei Wuya replied with a laugh.

There are many ways to enter the Corpse Dao.

Some are Ancient Corpses that gestate a spirit, thereby becoming Corpse Cultivators.

Others are those whose remnant souls linger after death, who then switch to cultivating the Corpse Dao.

And then there are those who, by a stroke of fortune, have their remnant souls occupy the bodies of fallen experts, thus becoming powerful Corpse Cultivators.

”I have already heard about the matter of the North Spirit Ruins. Let us go to the main hall to discuss this in detail,” Kun Hai said with a slight nod.

”Yes!” With that, Beiming Transformation Sea and the others followed Kun Hai.

Inside the main hall, Kun Hai sat upon the dais, while Beiming Transformation Sea took a seat below.

Beiming Transformation Sea recounted the events that had transpired at the North Spirit Ruins to Kun Hai in detail.

”Since our Kunpeng Race’s ancestor was able to escape with a strand of his Split Soul, it means that Emperor Xi of the Human Race no longer has the excess energy to deal with others. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee he won’t go all out to ambush and kill anyone who tries to open the North Spirit Ruins. If we wish to help our ancestor emerge, we must prepare thoroughly.” After hearing about the events at the North Spirit Ruins, Kun Hai’s eyes flashed as he spoke to the experts below the dais.

”I wonder, what solution does Elder have?” Beiming Transformation Sea asked, looking up at the dais.

The people from the Corpse Spirit Hall also looked on expectantly.

”A solution? Of course, I have one.” Kun Hai’s gaze shifted to the people from the Corpse Spirit Hall, and he spoke meaningfully, ”It seems your Corpse Dao has an ancestor who remains in the Southern Wilderness. I imagine you know something of its situation. If you can help it emerge, our grand cause will naturally succeed.”

”Our ancestor!” Hearing this, Wei Wuya’s brow twitched. His eyes flickered as if he wanted to avoid the topic.

But Kun Hai’s gaze was sharp, carrying a Divine Might that forced him to confront the matter.

”Our Corpse Dao’s ancestor is indeed somewhere in the Southern Wilderness, but as for whether he has recovered to his peak condition, we do not know!” Wei Wuya said with a hint of helplessness. ”Therefore, this junior doesn’t dare to rashly ask our ancestor to emerge!” Their ancestor had been severely injured in the early Ancient Times and had been in reclusive cultivation for countless years.

The Corpse Spirit Hall had laid dormant in the Southern Wilderness for the sole purpose of awaiting their ancestor’s return.

If the Kunpeng Ancestor emerged this time and chaos engulfed the Southern Wilderness, they would obviously have a better chance of helping their own ancestor emerge.

However, Wei Wuya and the others would never openly admit this to Beiming Transformation Sea’s group.

After all, it would be troublesome if others were to sabotage their plans.

Now that Kun Hai had exposed the matter, he had no choice but to face it.

”Your ancestor was injured in the ancient war and has been dormant for far too long. He should have recovered a considerable amount of his strength by now,” Kun Hai said. ”Moreover, the Seal on the Divine Demon Sea has begun to weaken. The world is about to change, and a new era is dawning. If your ancestor doesn’t emerge now, when will he?”

”The world is about to change? Is that true?” Upon hearing this, the ghostly light in Wei Wuya’s eyes flared as he asked.

”But of course,” Kun Hai said, raising an eyebrow. ”If the world weren’t about to change, how could I have avoided the heavenly retribution and walked out of the Divine Demon Sea alive?”

”That’s true.” Wei Wuya nodded.

As the current Hall Master of the Corpse Spirit Hall, he was privy to many secrets of Ancient Times.

Such as the Divine Demon Sea.

It was a Sealed Land created after the great war of Ancient Times.

A group of calamitous Divine Demon clans from Ancient Times were sealed there.

This was a rule established by certain Great Powers to maintain order in the mortal realm.

Otherwise, if these Divine Demon clans were allowed to roam the world, their immense power would inevitably lead to conflict that would shatter the earth and plunge all life into misery.

Therefore, those sealed within the Divine Demon Sea were fundamentally unable to leave. The fact that Kun Hai could emerge had been a source of great secret astonishment for Wei Wuya for a long time.

Hearing this now, he thought that perhaps the world truly was about to change. Otherwise, how could such an anomaly have occurred?

”It’s just that my ancestor’s place of cultivation is in the territory of the Great Tang. The Great Tang Emperor is there. If we act rashly, it will be very difficult to succeed!” Wei Wuya said with a fearful expression. Although the Great Tang Emperor rarely displayed his might in the Southern Wilderness, Wei Wuya knew his foundation was so profound that ordinary people couldn’t possibly compare.

If they alerted the Great Tang Emperor, it would be difficult for them to escape.

”No matter. We can devise a plan to lure the Great Tang Emperor here and then ambush and kill him!” Kun Hai said, full of confidence.

It seemed he had not the slightest fear of the Great Tang Emperor.

”In that case, I will follow all of your arrangements, Elder Kun!” Wei Wuya said with extreme reverence after a moment of thought.

’If the world truly is about to change, then this is clearly the best time to have my ancestor emerge.’

With Kun Hai present, Wei Wuya naturally felt more confident.

After all, Kun Hai was a member of the Kunpeng Race; Wei Wuya was naturally no match for him.

”Excellent!” Kun Hai nodded slightly, then said, ”However, this matter requires careful planning. We can do it like this...”

He then began to lay out his plan for everyone.

”Haha, Elder, your arrangement is truly brilliant! In that case, we will act according to the plan!” After hearing Kun Hai’s plan, Wei Wuya couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Even Beiming Transformation Sea, who stood beside him, had a gleam in his eyes. If things went as Kun Hai described, once the plan succeeded, the fate of the Southern Wilderness would be sealed.
