Elias’s POV

Weak.

Running into the wooden door headfirst was all it took to make him pass out. Roman Stiles is not worth my time. He’s not worth my effort. And he is clearly not worth Noah’s affection.

’Kill him’ my alpha growls in vengeance.

I felt the exact moment he kissed my mate. I had wanted to feel Noah for the first time in hours and when I opened our bond, the first thing I felt was a sting on my lips.

That sting was nature’s clear sign of my mate being kissed by someone else.

I not only felt the sting, I also felt Noah’s crippling terror all in the same second. My mate didn’t want it. The kiss had triggered his trauma response and I couldn’t fucking breathe properly for twenty minutes. I felt his panic even though we’re states away from each other.

Fuck. Thinking of it now makes me more enraged. At least Roman Stiles will die knowing an angel’s lips were the last thing he tasted.

The moment I cock the gun, the door opens behind me. I hate interruptions when I murder. With my jaws locked and my wrists firm, I turn my head to look at the person interfering.

Unfortunately, they are not people I can simply kill. It’s my parents.

My father and his luna stand at the door with their bodies pressed against each other like they are both symbionts. Like a centimeter gap between their bodies would lead to instant death.

”Elias, what are you doing?” Mom asks with disapproval in his tone and I refocus my cold gaze on Stiles.

”I’m putting an end to evil” I say and Dad tsks loudly.

”Are you stupid, boy?” he asks and I turn my head again. I’m still aiming at Roman Stiles, but my finger is off the trigger. My goal is not to piss my parents off. ”Why am I stupid?” I ask with a low growl and Dad takes a warning step forward.

With a growl rumbling deep in his chest, he is quietly reminding me who the alpha of this pack is.

”Haven’t I taught you that your omega comes first?” he asks and the gun in my hand shakes. Fuck. Mom puts his hand on Dad’s shoulder and my father visibly loses some of his tension.

”Yes, Dad. You taught me that” I say quietly and he shakes his head.

”Baby, your omega went to sleep from a panic attack. He needs you. You should be by his side when he wakes, not standing here seeking revenge” Mom says in a soft tone and dad scoffs.

They understand but they also don’t understand. Just like with that nurse; if I don’t kill the one who is behind my rage, I won’t rest.

”If I don’t do this I won’t rest, Dad” I say the words on my mind and Dad groans.

”Son, no matter what happens, rain, sun, or even a fucking zombie apocalypse, your omega comes first. Take it from a man who almost lost his omega to PTSD” Dad says firmly and Mom sighs.

”Darius” he calls Dad’s name softly and I relax slightly.

We all know what Mom and Dad went through together. They went through worse than I’m fighting for. Dad almost lost Mom during a panic attack because he wasn’t there. I won’t survive if something like that happens to Noah.

Fuck. I can manage leaving Roman alive for a day. I can be by Noah’s side and think of creative ways to make Roman pay.

”Okay” I say quietly and Dad nods approvingly.

”Besides, leaving the young bastard in his piss a day or two would humble him. Fuck with his brain and take the pride out of him for a bigger win” Dad says as he eyes Roman who is still passed out on the floor.

I put down my gun.

”Go be with Noah, Eli. He’ll need water and food when he wakes up” Mom says and I nod briskly. I still want to kill Roman, but I’ll wait.

”Damn, you were just going to kill him like that? Are you telling me only Kai learned how to torture correctly?” Dad asks while looking at Roman and I put on the safety of the gun.

”You shouldn’t talk about taking care of an omega and jump to torture, Darius” Mom scolds while shaking his head fondly and Dad makes a face. My dad and Damien are copy and paste of each other. Handsome. Domineering. Psychotic. Annoying.

”It’s true, isn’t it? Damien is too crude, Eli is too straight to the point...we should make another baby” Dad says and those words are weird enough to make me leave Roman on the floor.

”Darius, behave” I hear Mom hiss as I walk away from them and head to the kitchen.

”Water and desserts on a tray” I order flatly and the head cook runs around to get me what I want. She lays a bottle of water on the tray and adds a plate of freshly made egg tart.

”Sir...would you like me to hold that for you?” a maid asks and I flash my red alpha eyes at her in warning.

”Get the fuck out of my way” I growl and she dares to bite her bottom lip softly. This is new. They flirt with my brothers but never approach me. How dare she?

”I can make it all taste even better--”

Bang.

A bullet goes through her skirt so fast that the entire kitchen erupts in panic. My bullet leaves a smoking hole as it pierces through her skirt. It goes through the gap between her thighs and ends up lodged in the marble floor.

Mother will get upset. I know. But he wouldn’t mind. He wouldn’t accept an omega flirting with his husband either.

I return my gun and give her a flat look.

The maid’s knees wobble as she stumbles backwards in shock. Her hands grip the edge of the counter and her knuckles turn white. Perfect. Fear me.

Taking my eyes off her, I turn to the kitchen’s head.

”Teach your workers these words; Elias Deus is fucking married” I say and she nods in agreement.

With the tray, I head for my own room. I pass by a number of maids and all of them respectfully avoid my eyes. It’s no news that Elias Deus is upset about his husband’s absence.

I shoulder my bedroom door open and pause at the obvious smell of anxiety in my mate’s usually strawberry scent.

Fuck.

I hit the door again with my shoulder, ignoring the flare of pain as it swings open.

My breath stutters as I find my husband.

Noah is sitting in my leather chair with his legs up. He’s wearing my own grey hoodie, a hoodie I didn’t put on his body. Hell, I had left him naked when I went out of this room. I didn’t want him to feel restricted by anything even in his sleep.

I swallow as he looks at me with those blue eyes and without my permission, my face does something strange...I smile.

”You’re awake” I say. My voice sounds deeper and more out of breath than it should.

”Apparently” Noah, the man who I was scared would be too broken to endure a simple piece of clothing on his body, says as he rolls his eyes at me.

My angel is just fine.

Thank fuck.

”Where were you?” he asks and I chuckle. He is blatantly ignoring the tray in my hands and the smile on my face.

”Are you hungry, Angel?” I ask with that same expression on my face and tone in my voice.

Relevant. This is fucking relevant to me.

”That doesn’t answer the question” he says.

”I know” I say and take a step into the room. ”I fucking missed you” I admit and his lips press together like he’s holding back something.

”Well...I’m here now. Come hold me” he says and I place the tray on the table before going to the chair. I effortlessly pick him up, hold him like he’s precious, and sit in the chair with him on my lap.

”I’m never letting you go again” I growl in his ear as he looks up at me with tenderness.

I lean in to kiss him but the sass in his eyes suddenly disappears. I pause as fear replaces playfulness.

”E-Elias...” he stutters and I swallow.

”Yeah?” I ask and his eyes fill with tears. Roman is not going to make it. It would take a fucking divine intervention for him to make it out of that room alive.

I promise.
