My Most Beautiful Fiancée

The young Martial Artist was stunned when he heard Mu Lin’s words.

’What is he even saying?’

’This Mu Lin guy is such a poser. So young, yet talking in such a pompous, old-fashioned tone. What does he take me for?’

”You’re disgusting! You think a little strength gives you the right to walk all over me? Let me tell you, my background isn’t so simple either!”

The young man raged, ”I am Mo Yu! If you knew who I was, you’d be on your knees kowtowing to me!”

Mu Lin found his boasting amusing. ’Does he really think I’m that ignorant?’

He had already said his surname was Mo, and it just so happened that Mu Lin knew a Grandmaster with the same surname.

Mu Lin wasn’t sure if there was a connection, but Mo wasn’t a common surname in Nanjiang, so it was worth taking a chance.

Ning Xingyuan, standing to the side looking thoroughly annoyed, said coldly, ”Brother Mo Yu, enough talk. Just kill him already! Let’s not waste any more time.”

Mo Yu sighed softly. He was clearly a Martial Artist, yet he had to obey Ning Xingyuan’s orders. He couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional about it.

He was angry about what Mu Lin had said, but he hadn’t planned on actually doing anything to him.

But Ning Xingyuan insisted on attacking Mu Lin, which put Mo Yu in a very difficult position.

’There’s no freedom at all when you work for someone else.’

’I’d much rather build a good relationship with Mu Lin!’

But his orders were the exact opposite; they were to make an enemy of Mu Lin, completely and utterly.

’This Ning Xingyuan gives people no freedom at all!’

Mo Yu exploded with power from his legs and, with a BOOM, lunged at Mu Lin.

This was his strongest killing move.

Ever since condensing his Inner Strength, he had been known for his speed, which had never failed him.

Mu Lin casually raised a single finger, its tip intercepting the path of Mo Yu’s incoming fist.

With a SWISH, he blocked Mo Yu’s attack. Mo Yu felt as if his fist had struck an iron stake, and it trembled violently.

Such a powerful and ferocious punch had been stopped just like that.

How terrifying was that?

The tendons in Mo Yu’s hand were instantly bruised, filled with a strange power that made him break out in a cold sweat from the pain.

Mo Yu realized he had misjudged the young man’s strength, his expression changing repeatedly. ”You’re a Grandmaster!”

Mo Yu believed himself to be a top-tier genius. Even in the Imperial Capital, a place teeming with prodigies, there weren’t many young talents like him.

He was an Inner Strength master, after all! He could make any Martial Artist of his generation submit in minutes.

But why was he so strong?

Heaven only knows!

But Mu Lin just smiled without a word. A soup spoon flew out, heading straight for Mo Yu.

Mo Yu gritted his teeth against the pain in his joints and forced himself to defend. Ning Xingyuan was behind him, and he couldn’t let him get hurt, no matter what.

But the spoon never hit him. It exploded in mid-air, the fragments perfectly bypassing Mo Yu and Ning Xingyuan to strike the thugs who had been cheering from the sidelines.

Ning Xingyuan, thinking he was about to be hit, collapsed to the ground, his limbs limp as he trembled in fear.

Mo Yu cut a sorry figure. He was in so much pain he could barely move. Finally, he dropped straight to his knees.

”Sir, I beg you to be merciful and spare me!”

Mu Lin glanced sideways at Mo Yu. ”You are not worthy of negotiating with me. Have your family come over. Then, perhaps, we might have something to discuss.”

”Sir, there’s a code in the Jianghu: you don’t involve family! You can’t possibly…”

”Stop being an eyesore,” Mu Lin made a grasping motion with his hand and gave a gentle push to the side. Mo Yu instantly felt as if he were being moved by an invisible force, pushed straight out of the restaurant’s main doors.

The sensation was like being pushed forward by a giant, man-sized block of Jell-O.

Mu Lin looked at him askance. ”Get your grandfather over here. In the meantime, you can reflect on your actions at the door!”

Mo Yu was horrified. ’How could Mu Lin know about my grandfather?’ His grandfather had the highest cultivation in the family, and thus the highest authority. Everyone acknowledged this.

For Mu Lin to mention it so directly was frankly terrifying.

”Sir, about this…”

”Make the call!” Mu Lin raised his voice.

Mo Yu knew instantly that he had no room to bargain. He quickly took out his phone to make the call.

He then informed the Ning Family about Ning Xingyuan’s situation, letting them know what was happening so they wouldn’t worry too much.

”Grandfather, I’m in trouble…”

”Hello, is this the butler? Young Master Xingyuan has run into a bit of trouble…”

Mu Lin heard everything clearly but let him be.

There was nothing to say.

He looked at Ning Xingyuan. ”What does the Ning Family want? All this trouble seems like a small reward for such a huge effort.”

Ning Xingyuan sneered, ”Does the Ning Family need to consult you on its affairs? You should consider whether you’re even qualified to go toe-to-toe with the Ning Family. I’d advise you not to overthink it; things aren’t that simple!”

”You’re just a measly Martial Arts Grandmaster. The Ning Family has countless experts who could crush you with ease. Don’t be scared to death!”

Mu Lin found it laughable, but he let Ning Xingyuan continue. The more he talked, the more worked up he got, until even Mu Lin started to find it tiresome.

He tossed out another chopstick. It let out a piercing WHISTLE as it cut through the air and plunged straight into Ning Xingyuan’s thigh.

Ning Xingyuan’s entire body trembled with pain, and his face contorted as he started screaming.

”Don’t waste my time. Answer my question now! What is the Ning Family’s ultimate goal? With such a grand display, I don’t believe you’re just targeting little Xu Tianming.”

Pale and covered in a cold sweat from the pain, Ning Xingyuan said, ”We’re planning to swallow the Xu Family whole, to absorb all of the Xu Family’s assets into the Ning Family’s portfolio.”

Xu Tianming’s eyes were red as he pointed at Ning Xingyuan and raged, ”We’re just a branch family of the Xu Family! We built our current business ourselves, so why are you still targeting us?!”

Ning Xingyuan said, ”Who told your parents to be disobedient? If they had just obediently handed over the company, things might not have turned out this way. But they refused to listen to Xu Jishan’s orders and insisted on trying to hide their assets.”

Mu Lin’s focus suddenly sharpened. He’d spotted a huge inconsistency. ”An order from Xu Jishan? He hasn’t gone senile. Why would he issue such a strange command?”

Ning Xingyuan’s eyes darted around for a moment. He said hurriedly, ”I don’t know the specifics! That’s just what my family said!”

Mu Lin was silent for a moment. ’I definitely need to pay the Xu Family a visit and see what’s going on,’ he thought. ’This situation doesn’t look good.’

”You will kneel here and await judgment. We’ll talk when the adults from your family arrive.”

Ning Xingyuan felt utterly humiliated. He had some say within his family; he could have easily handled a small matter like this himself. But Mu Lin completely ignored his authority, insisting on bypassing him to talk to the Ning Family elders.

’He’s not even treating me like a person!’

”I’m a Young Master of the Ning Family! You can’t treat me like this!”

Mu Lin slowly fixed his gaze on Ning Xingyuan. His stare was filled with a thousand complex emotions, leaving a long, lingering aftertaste.

It was enough to make Ning Xingyuan shudder in fear. How could he dare raise any more objections to Mu Lin? He immediately averted his gaze and sat there like a docile little bride, not daring to utter another superfluous word.

Xu Tianming stared at Ning Xingyuan with fury. With his parents suffering in the hospital, his anger had long since become unbearable.

Mu Lin waved a hand at the restaurant manager, who approached, trembling.

”Sir, what can I do for you?” The manager was terrified. Every single person here had a massive background, while he just ran a restaurant. He couldn’t afford to offend any of them.

Mu Lin said, ”Calculate how much the restaurant has lost, including the tabs of the diners who skipped out on their bills.”

The manager was completely flustered. ’Does Mu Lin intend to compensate me? That would be too awkward.’

He wouldn’t dare accept it.

”Sir, there’s no need. It wasn’t much, really.”

Mu Lin said, ”If it’s not much, then all the more reason to compensate you. It’s not easy for you small business owners, enduring all the hardships.”

The manager thought, ’Mu Lin makes it sound nice, but do I dare to actually take the money?’

But seeing Mu Lin’s sincere gaze, he could only sigh, go tally things up, and say, ”It’s really not much. Most of the customers paid in advance. Four or five hundred should cover it!”

Mu Lin’s eyes narrowed. ”Young Master Ning, did you hear that? The restaurant’s losses are a full five million. Pay up!”

The manager was dumbfounded. He had said five hundred. What was Mu Lin on about?
