I Contracted All Ancient Divine Artifacts

Chapter 296: Chapter 195: Frog’s Diary

As time passes.

More and more fragmented pages are found.

These tiny fragments, slowly pieced together by Han Zhan, gradually restored to their original form.

They are pages of yellowing paper, and from the material and the handwriting on them, Han Zhan can be 100% sure that they are from the same hand as Elder Bing’s pill formula!

This makes Han Zhan even more excited.

He restrains his emotions and starts reading intently.

It turns out to be a diary:

[Cataclysm Year 100, July 21.]

[The Human Alliance has discovered a new unexplored area. They have invited me to go there.]

[As the chief scientist of the Longevity Company, I must participate in this operation.]

[Every trip to a mysterious unknown place is a journey without a visible future, and as survivors after the cataclysm, humanity can only keep moving forward on this journey.]

”Cataclysm Year 100?” Han Zhan is stunned when he sees the date recorded in the diary.

He had once crammed for a period of Blue Star history.

In his memory, Cataclysm Year 100 should be the historically recorded ”Cataclysm Era”, which marks the difficult beginning of human survival after the apocalypse.

At that time, there were no Five Great Forces, only the Human Alliance.

In the Human Alliance, talents with extraordinary abilities from all sides gathered to resist various disasters.

”The owner of this diary is actually the chief scientist of the Longevity Company?”

”Isn’t he one of the very first geniuses? Yes, those who participate in mysterious area explorations must be outstanding in some field.”

This page of the diary doesn’t record much information, so Han Zhan turns another page to continue reading.

...

[Cataclysm Year 111, January 1.]

[This is my 11th year in this mysterious land. I still haven’t fully explored its secrets, nor can I find my way home. Memories of the place I once lived have started to fade.]

[The only thing that allows me to forget time is to continue my unfinished research.]

[I have a premonition, it will surely succeed!]

[Cataclysm Year 111, May 12.]

[The research is still without new progress, but there are unexpected side effects from which I have named two newly cultivated plants as Mimosa and Forgetful Grass.]

[The planting location is in the valley where I live. Mimosa loves shade, Forgetful Grass loves sunlight, perfectly complementing each other in interference, forming a perfect layout!]

[There may be more research directions for these two plants, but the main research direction has entered a critical node, let’s wait for some time.]

These two diary entries are recorded on the same page.

It is apparent that the chief scientist of the Longevity Company, who records the diary, is very busy and doesn’t habitually write diaries.

His diaries often record only some key important content,

which is quite friendly to Han Zhan as a later reader.

”What research is he conducting?” Han Zhan, through reading the diary, seemingly sees a reserved and rigid young man sitting opposite him, wearing deep black-framed glasses, writing down these entries with a pen.

Upon seeing the lower part of the diary,

Han Zhan realizes, that neither the Mimosa and Forgetful Grass that are not recorded in the Shennong Cauldron, nor the Blue Star Herbal Encyclopedia by Second Brother Lin Jingxuan, are actually research outputs!

It turns out, they were researched and developed!

But, ”What kind of research content would result in the emergence of plants like Mimosa and Forgetful Grass?”

Mimosa is a connection to consciousness and spiritual realms, Forgetful Grass is related to spirit and soul,

By reverse deducing from the side effects, could it be that this chief scientist of the Longevity Company, his research is related to mental consciousness?

Han Zhan’s speed in flipping through the diary unconsciously accelerated.

...

[Cataclysm Year 122, October 16.]

[The research succeeded!]

[I have produced the Company’s long-awaited 001 potion, but now, I face a new issue, there is no one to experiment on the potion’s effects.]

[Most of the companions who came in with me have become fertilizer for the herbs in Medicine Valley. Some cunning and sneaky fellows have hidden away.]

[Why do they say I am mad.]

[Am I mad? Looking at myself in the mirror, what I am sure and certain of is, I am not.]

”Madmen never admit they are mad, just like drunkards always loudly claim they are not drunk, continue drinking, continue the music, continue the dance.”

Upon reading this part, Han Zhan begins to feel that this chief scientist’s mental state has possibly started to change.

When you think about it, it is quite normal.

If a person lives alone in a place, independently for over twenty years.

How terribly frightening would that be?

”He said his research succeeded, producing the 001 potion.”

Upon seeing the numbers 001, Han Zhan’s eyelids twitch abruptly.

He is no longer the ignorant novice who knows nothing, there is no clearer understanding of what the number behind represents.

is the sequence number within the Longevity Company’s Mutant Walker, the foremost one!

The foremost means his ability is the strongest, the most powerful, the highest talent!

Only such a Mutant Walker could be dubbed as 001.

The content recorded on this page is notably more than before.

But the latter part is extensively blacked out, rendering the text utterly illegible.

Han Zhan can only vaguely discern that it looks like something akin to an information file.

[Experimenter Name: Frog]

[Experimenter Injection Potion Model: Mutated Potion 001]

[Injection Dose and Method: 100 cc, intramuscular injection, divided into three injections]

[Experiment Record: After the first injection, fusion was perfect, during the second injection there was body rejection reaction, with copious blood gushing from the eyes, ears, mouth and nose, consumed previously prepared coagulator and life potion, third injection, again secondary rejection occurred, part of the body deconstructed mutated.]

[The experiment is very successful, although the fusion process was painful, after fusion I indeed acquired powerful ability, (extensively blacked out), I am certain, those hiding rats can no longer escape my hunt!]

[Yet, there were risks in this fusion, (extensively blacked out). Body rejection and mutation, make me increasingly diverge from ”humanity”.]

[Should I continue to explore further, pursue the journey endpoint belonging to me? ]

[Even if it possibly diverges completely from humanity, leading to an unknown but definitely opposing extreme?]
