High School DxD: Return of the Crimson Dragon Emperor

Chapter 551: Chapter 541 So that is the god from another world Hyoudou Issei mentioned

”So that is the god from another world Hyoudou Issei mentioned. His energy far surpasses even Apophis’s. Now then, I wonder if this spear can pierce him.”

Resting the Holy Spear lightly on his shoulder as he walked forward was Cao Cao, leading the Hero Faction. That guy actually managed to defeat Apophis... He seemed to carry a different aura compared to before we parted; did he reach a new realm of power during his fight with Apophis?

Then, the giant of the Hero Faction, Heracles, grumbled:

”Heh. Spoken like a guy who was being carried on my back until a moment ago.”

”Shut up! Don’t bring that up! In the first place, you were the one who carried me without asking—!”

Ah, right... he reached the realm of being the straight man. His character collapsed too, didn’t it? It’s probably mostly our fault, though.

Shifting my eyes back to the sky, Odin’s Valhalla forces and Zeus’s Olympus forces were standing by, looking down on Asem from above. Numerous other deities were present as well... To think the chief gods of each mythology were participating in person. Well, they must have judged that this was a battle they couldn’t win without the top brass stepping in. It would cause a massive uproar if a chief god were eliminated, but holding back forces would make things far worse.

”Michael-sama is here too!”

Where Irina looked up, Michael-sama stood leading the host of angels. Clad in divine light, the Archangel himself had joined the battle.

Then, from another direction—

”Akeno!”

”Father!”

Barakiel-san arrived at the speed of light, enveloped in lightning! He slammed on the brakes right before reaching us and rushed to Akeno’s side.

”Are you safe, Akeno?! You’re really alright?! You aren’t injured, are you?!”

Barakiel-san began checking Akeno’s entire body to ensure there wasn’t a single scratch.

...Yeah, I’m one to talk, but Barakiel-san really is overly protective. Though I suppose it’s natural behavior considering his daughter is fighting on a battlefield where dying wouldn’t be surprising at all.

”Ufufu, oh Father. Yes, I am completely fine, you know?”

Hearing Akeno’s words, Barakiel-san let out a deep breath, his face filled with relief...

Seeing Barakiel-san in full protective-father mode, Azazel-sensei let out a wry chuckle.

”My, my... I suppose it can’t be helped. Well, Barakiel is one thing, but as for that one...”

Azazel-sensei spoke while looking off into the distance.

That one...? Was there someone among this group who would end up like Barakiel-san...?

Just then—

”So-tan~~~~!!”

A female voice echoed from far away! Flying straight toward us while scattering sub-zero cold air!

Seeing the flying figure, Sona covered her face with her hands, muttering, ”Ah...”

Ah, right. That person. She’s even more like me than Barakiel-san is. Isn’t that right, Serafall-san?

”So-tan~~~~!! Your big sister has arrived~~~~!!”

”Onee-sama! How many times must I tell you to stop adding ’-tan’ to my name?! Especially in front of a huge crowd like this... I hate this!”

”Aahn! Why are you running away, So-tan~~~~?!”

”I told you, stop with the ’-tan’!”

Sona ran away. Serafall chased after her.

And then—

”Hmm, even in times like this, the Sitris are so peaceful. Peace truly is the best. Don’t you think so, Ri-tan?”

”Brother, please stop using that nickname.”

Sirzechs had arrived before anyone noticed, appearing alongside the Lucifer Peerage. Ah, Grayfia-san was pulling his cheek while telling him to ”know your place”... No matter the location, he’s no match for his wife.

While all this was going on, countless warriors continued to gather from all directions. Gods, Devils, Fallen Angels, Angels, Dragons, Humans, and other races alike. Almost every single warrior who had entered the world created by Asem was assembling here at the center of this realm.

Azazel-sensei spoke up.

”Asem, when I heard you used our scheme to absorb Trihexa, I honestly thought you had us beat. But now, the greatest fighting force we can possibly assemble has gathered here—united under the single will to defeat you and protect our world. It’s time we settled this once and for all. I’ve got things I need to take care of after this, after all.”

”Indeed. You left a mountain of work behind for me, after all.”

”You—Raynare! Stop ruining my cool speech!”

It seems Azazel-sensei has another battlefield waiting for him even after this fight ends.

Well, allow me to say the rest for Azazel-sensei.

Supported by Asia and Koneko-chan, I somehow managed to stand up and face Asem directly.

”You said it earlier... that even if things settled between you and me, the fight with this world wouldn’t be over. Then let’s end it, Asem. Let’s settle everything right here, right now.”

Asem looked around at the tens of thousands of warriors gathered in this place, then shifted his gaze back to me. Maintaining his usual smile, he gave a slow nod.

”Very well. Then let us begin. Come at me. From here on out, it’s a matter of whether I bring an end to you all, or you bring an end to me. Let us make this a true, absolute, final battle.”

~ Afterword Mini-Story ~

Saji: ”Lately, when I look at Hyoudou, a certain proverb randomly comes to mind... ’A siscon who gained a little sister.’”

Sona: ”That... might actually be accurate.”

Serafall: ”Ah, it’s So-tan! So-taaaan!”

Saji: ”Gah! There’s another siscon over here?!”

*A siscon who gained a little sister: A state where a siscon becomes lively and energized in the presence of their younger sister.
