High School DxD: Return of the Crimson Dragon Emperor

Chapter 200: Chapter 192: Beast Ears Are Pure Bliss!

That night, after seeing Rias and the others off, I felt a pang of loneliness without Rias sleeping beside me. Since she moved in, we’d been cuddling almost every night—me as her personal hug pillow. After learning about my past, she’d become so affectionate, like Miu in full-on clingy mode. The way her mature persona melted into a vulnerable, teary-eyed girl was adorable. That gap got me every time.

Ugh, I’ll miss her warmth for a while... Come back soon! I thought, but I couldn’t say that out loud. I’m the older one, after all. No use whining—it wouldn’t change anything.

Watching TV in the living room, I yawned as the clock ticked past 11 p.m. Earlier than usual, but time for bed. Feeling drowsy, I switched off the TV and headed to my room.

At my door, I heard voices—

”Hey, Miu-chan... this is kinda embarrassing. Can I change into my usual pajamas?”

”No way, you look so cute!”

”Don’t hug me so tight... it tickles!”

”Alice-san, you’re adorable~♪”

”But are these even pajamas?”

”Yup! Comfy and perfect for sleeping, right?”

”I guess, but...”

What were they up to? Sounded like Miu was clinging to Alice, talking about pajamas. Embarrassing ones? Like Rias’s sheer negligee? Those look amazing on Rias or Juna—pure allure. But Alice in one? I was curious.

With a flicker of anticipation, I turned the knob and stepped inside.

I froze, speechless.

On the bed weren’t girls in lingerie, negligees, or—thankfully—not naked. It was something else entirely.

”What... are those?” I muttered.

There, on the bed, were two cats. Well, Miu and Alice in cat onesie pajamas—bag-like outfits with only their faces peeking out, topped with cat-ear hoods and pink paw pads on their hands and feet.

”Big brother, look! Isn’t Alice-san super cute?” Miu chirped.

I glanced at Alice, dressed as a white cat, blushing furiously as Miu, in a black cat onesie, hugged her from behind.

”D-Don’t stare...” Alice mumbled, her voice trembling with embarrassment.

I’d seen Alice in her underwear, even naked—her body was no mystery to me. But this? This was a different kind of embarrassment.

”So? What do you think?” Miu asked, still clinging to Alice.

What did I think? It was obvious!

I stepped closer. ”Hey, uh...”

”What?” Alice replied warily.

”Can I... hug you guys?”

”Huh?” Alice blinked, stunned, her cat ears twitching as she tilted her head.

Can’t resist! ”By order of the ’King,’ let me hug you! Let me fluff you!” I dove onto the bed, burying my face in their soft onesies.

”W-Wait!? What’s gotten into you!?” Alice yelped.

”Damn it, why are you so cute!? You’re way beyond my expectations!”

This wasn’t allure—it was healing! Their cat onesies were a first, and they were dangerously adorable. My rationality shattered. The softness, the texture, Alice’s shy blush—it was perfection.

”Hya! T-Tickles... Nn...!” Miu squealed.

Miu was always cute, but this was next-level! These cat pajamas were a weapon, obliterating my self-control. I’d never craved fluffiness this much.

”Calm down!” Alice snapped, landing a cat-paw punch.

Oof! That hurt! It’d been a while since I felt her strength.

”Jeez, how excited can you get?” Alice huffed, exasperated.

”Sorry... You’re just too cute. Too perfect,” I said, wiping a nosebleed.

Miu probably picked these out—absolute genius move. Koneko’s cat ears were adorable, but this was a whole new level of charm.

”I have a request,” I said.

”What now?” Alice asked, bracing herself.

I swallowed hard. ”Say ’nyan’ for me.”

”What!? Why!? Ask Koneko-chan for that!” Alice protested.

True, Koneko’s ”nyan” always melted me. Her cat ears sparked every protective instinct—adorable beyond words. But...

”Right now, I want your nyan!” I pleaded, hands clasped.

Miu looked stunned, Alice a bit unnerved. But my loyal retainers humored me. Sitting in front of me, they shyly raised their paws and said in unison—

”N-Nyan...”

A jolt shot through me. So cute! Adorable! Moe! This was a sight I’d never forget, etched into my brain forever.

Ugh, another nosebleed. But who could blame me? They were that cute.

Taking a deep breath, I looked again. Miu and Alice, perched on the bed in their cat onesies, tilted their heads curiously, making my heart race.

I slid behind them, pulling them into a gentle hug, savoring their warmth. ”This... it’s like all my recent stress is melting away. So healing.”

The mage evaluations and other worries had drained me. This was a rare sight—Alice, usually bold thanks to Rias’s influence, in something this wholesome.

They smiled, patting my head. ”You’ve been working hard, big brother,” Miu said.

”If this helps your stress, I’ll wear it again,” Alice added.

I was moved. These two were the best retainers ever. A few quirks? Totally worth it.

Crash! A noise from the door.

Koneko stood there in her pajamas, staring. ”Tch... both of them in cat ears...?”

She seemed less shocked by the scene and more by their outfits. Frozen, her small frame began to tremble, eyes tearing up.

”K-Koneko-chan?” I called.

Without a word, she climbed onto the bed and threw herself into my arms, cat ears out, clinging tightly.

”What’s wrong?” I asked.

”If Miu-senpai and Alice-san have cat ears, I’m at a huge disadvantage!” she said, looking up with teary eyes. ”I’m a cat, too. Hug me!”

Oh, wow! Koneko was staking her claim as the original cat-ear girl!

How could I resist? ”Alright!” I hugged her tight.

”Nya!” Koneko’s tail swished, her cheeks flushed. Was she happy? So adorable!

If Asia joined, this healing space would be unstoppable.

”Issei-san, are you awake?” Asia entered, wearing cute pink pajamas. ”Miu-san and Alice-san’s pajamas are adorable!”

”Thanks! Wanna try one, Asia-san?” Miu offered.

”Me? I...” Asia trailed off, taking in the scene: Miu and Alice in cat onesies on either side of me, Koneko in my arms with her cat ears out. A cat-ear paradise.

”That’s not fair! Everyone has cat ears! I won’t lose!” Asia cried, teary-eyed, and dashed out.

We exchanged confused glances. ”What was that?” I asked.

”No idea...” Alice replied.

Was Asia... getting a cat onesie?

Footsteps echoed—thud thud thud—and Asia burst back in, now sporting bunny ears in a rabbit onesie, a variant of Miu and Alice’s outfits.

”Take that!” Asia leapt into my arms.

So bold! And the bunny look suited her perfectly.

”Who picked that out?” I asked.

”Rias-oneesama. Does it... suit me?” Asia asked shyly.

Rias, brilliant choice! I was in awe. This healing space—cat-eared Miu, Alice, and Koneko, plus bunny-eared Asia—was unbeatable.

Bang! The closet burst open.

”I tried it, too,” Ophis said, standing in a dog onesie.

Yup, beast ears are pure moe.

This was a tale of healing and adorable bliss!
