The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 591: Chapter 591: Cheng Yuan, I Missed You!

The Lin Family’s main residence.

The senior members of the Lin Family were gathered together.

Everyone in the Lin Family was looking at the old man with gazes of utter adoration.

Lin Xingchen shamelessly laid on the flattery thick.

”The old man is still the best! The moment you made a move, you grabbed Yuanxi Pharmaceutical by the throat! I heard their warehouse only has enough stock to last two more days at most! As long as the joint inspection team keeps it up for a few more days, Yuanxi Pharmaceutical will collapse!”

A cold glint flashed in Lin Jianan’s eyes.

”Did Ruoxi think she could crush our Huanya Pharmaceutical just by coming up with some Lingxi Health Beverage? She’s dreaming! Today, I’ll make Ruoxi understand that the world isn’t as simple as she imagines! My old friend has already given the word: the first phase of the inspection will last seven days! If they find any problems, Yuanxi Pharmaceutical will be shut down for at least a month for rectification! And even if they don’t find anything, there will be a second phase! This time, we must drag Yuanxi Pharmaceutical down completely!”

Lin Xingyu also stepped forward to suck up.

”Old Master, how did you get in contact with that senior official? Why have we never heard you mention him? You play your cards incredibly close to your chest, don’t you?”

Lin Jianan said lightly, ”How can one get by in life without a few cards up their sleeve? That old friend and I go way back; we grew up playing in the mud together! However, a connection like that can’t be used carelessly. Every time you use it, you burn a little bit of that goodwill. It must be saved for the most critical moments.”

”The Old Master is wise!”

Lin Jianan gave a very solemn warning: ”Until Yuanxi Pharmaceutical is bankrupt, no one is to provoke Ruoxi’s family! We absolutely cannot give them any chance to strike back! Violators will be expelled from the Lin Family!”

Everyone tensed up and replied in unison, ”Please rest assured, Old Master!”

Lin Jianan nodded slightly. ”Get the funds ready. The moment Yuanxi Pharmaceutical collapses, our Huanya Pharmaceutical will immediately activate the acquisition plan!”

”Yes!”

「Yuanxi Pharmaceutical.」

It was already the middle of the night. Lin Ruoxi, the meeting having ended, walked toward the executive dorms with a heavy expression.

At that moment, Lin Ruoxi felt exhausted. She desperately needed a strong shoulder to lean on, a warm embrace to hold her.

But Lin Ruoxi knew Cheng Yuan was dealing with something important, something that was a matter of life and death.

Lin Ruoxi didn’t want to bother Cheng Yuan.

Lin Ruoxi sighed and deleted the number she had just typed into her phone.

’This time, I have to get through this on my own!’

’I can’t just rely on Cheng Yuan every time something goes wrong.’

Just as Lin Ruoxi was trying to psych herself up, her phone suddenly rang.

Lin Ruoxi instinctively picked up her phone and saw Cheng Yuan’s name.

In that instant, Lin Ruoxi couldn’t stop the hot tears from streaming down her face!

’My husband is calling me!’

’He survived his ordeal!’

Lin Ruoxi quickly answered the call, her voice trembling. ”Honey, are you okay? Where are you?”

There was no sound from the other end of the line.

Lin Ruoxi raised her voice slightly. ”Honey, say something! Don’t scare me!”

Just as Lin Ruoxi was starting to feel nervous and anxious, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her slender waist, and a familiar voice whispered in her ear, ”Honey, I missed you.”

Lin Ruoxi’s delicate body trembled. She quickly recognized the familiar scent and the familiar voice.

CLATTER. The phone fell to the ground.

Tears streamed down her face as if they would never stop!

Lin Ruoxi spun around, threw her arms around Cheng Yuan’s neck, stood on her tiptoes, and sealed his lips with her own. She wanted to pour all the longing and hurt she had felt into that kiss!

Lin Ruoxi’s passion instantly ignited a fire in Cheng Yuan!

Cheng Yuan bent down to pick up Lin Ruoxi’s phone, then swept her up into his arms and rushed into the apartment building like a gust of wind!

Cheng Yuan didn’t even bother waiting for the elevator. Carrying Lin Ruoxi, he bounded up the stairs in the emergency stairwell with incredible speed!

In less than a minute, Cheng Yuan reached the top floor.

Cheng Yuan set Lin Ruoxi down, pinning her against the wall and kissing her thin lips with wild abandon.

Cheng Yuan’s kisses were like raindrops.

They fell on Lin Ruoxi’s face, her brows, her neck...

After several long minutes, just as Lin Ruoxi was starting to feel breathless, Cheng Yuan finally let her go, his eyes fixed on her stunningly beautiful face.

”Honey, you’re so beautiful.”

Lin Ruoxi’s eyes sparkled, her pretty face flushing a shy red.

BEEP.

With one hand, Lin Ruoxi unlocked the door with her fingerprint; with the other, she grabbed Cheng Yuan’s arm and pulled him inside.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Cheng Yuan was now beginning to deeply understand the meaning of that phrase.

...

They continued from midnight until the first fish-belly white of dawn appeared in the sky, finally falling into a deep sleep in each other’s arms.

Cheng Yuan slept soundly, but Lin Ruoxi’s sleep was very restless.

In her dreams, Lin Ruoxi saw the joint inspection team returning for another inspection.

And in fact, that’s exactly what was happening.

「Nine in the morning.」

The joint inspection team entered Yuanxi Pharmaceutical right on time and began a very ’meticulous’ inspection. The entire company was instantly brought to a standstill!

The middle managers were frantic, and Hua Fangfang quickly called Lin Ruoxi.

The ringing phone woke Lin Ruoxi. Seeing the call was from Hua Fangfang, any trace of sleepiness vanished instantly. Worried about disturbing Cheng Yuan’s sleep, she walked out onto the balcony and answered the call in a low voice.

”Fangfang, is the joint inspection team here again?”

”Yes, President Lin. There are even more of them than yesterday! Yesterday, one or two workshops could still operate, but today, all of them have been shut down! If they keep this up, our Yuanxi will be completely finished!”

”I know. I’ll figure something out!”

Lin Ruoxi hung up the phone, her Essence, Qi, and Spirit plummeting. ’What could I possibly do?’

A thick wave of exhaustion and despair washed over her, and Lin Ruoxi felt her legs might give out.

Lin Ruoxi slid slowly down the wall, her back against it. She weakly wrapped her arms around her trembling legs and cried silently!

Cheng Yuan rolled over but didn’t feel the familiar warmth beside him, which felt wrong. He slowly opened his eyes but didn’t see his wife.

Cheng Yuan’s hearing was excellent, and he picked up the faint sound of sobbing coming from the balcony.

Cheng Yuan tiptoed out of bed and went to the balcony, where he saw Lin Ruoxi hugging her legs, crying helplessly.

An unholy rage instantly shot up from Cheng Yuan’s tailbone straight to his cerebral cortex!

’What injustice has my wife suffered?’

’I don’t care who it is!’

’They will not be forgiven!’

His heart aching for her, Cheng Yuan squatted down and pulled Lin Ruoxi into his arms, asking softly, ”Honey, what’s wrong? Tell me.”

Choking back sobs, Lin Ruoxi told Cheng Yuan everything that had happened over the past few days.

”If they keep inspecting us, Yuanxi Pharmaceutical is going to default on its contracts! We’ll have to pay astronomical breach-of-contract fees! When that happens, Yuanxi Pharmaceutical will have no choice but to file for bankruptcy protection...”

Cheng Yuan frowned. ”From what you’re saying, it sounds like someone is targeting us from behind the scenes. Is it the Lin Family?”

Lin Ruoxi shook her head hesitantly. ”I don’t think so. If it were the Lin Family, someone would definitely be provoking me, especially my cousins Lin Ruolong and Lin Ruohu. Besides, the Lin Family doesn’t have that much influence.”

Cheng Yuan shrugged. ”I don’t care who it is! Anyone who dares to bully my wife will pay a heavy price! Let’s go. Take me to see this inspection team!”
