Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2378: Chapter 2314: We Won’t Be Followed, Right?

Chiang Xiao had nothing to say.

After the hospital admission procedures were completed, Meng Chaojun was also arranged into a private ward.

Old Meng personally carried the few bottles of potion over, unaware of anything else, but knowing these few bottles of potion were very precious, not a single one would be lost.

As Meng Chaojun lay down on the hospital bed again, he felt his spirits lifted a lot.

”Little, you mentioned earlier that you needed my help with something? Just tell me.”

Old Meng remembered this.

He couldn’t help but worry, not about anything else, but wondering what thing Chiang Xiao couldn’t handle now and needed to ask him?

He was afraid he wouldn’t be able to help her, letting her down.

Chiang Xiao said, ”It’s not a big deal, it’s just that my dad has returned to the Jiang Family, and I will also return to the Jiang Family with him, so I need to change my name. My residence is now in Capital City, Brother Xinian said, Grandpa knows someone who manages registration, can Grandpa help?”

Upon hearing it was such a matter, Old Meng secretly breathed a big sigh of relief.

So it was just this, he thought it was something big.

Indeed, he was familiar with the people there, often having tea, playing chess, and listening to music with Old Tang and the others, so this matter was simple.

”Sure, that’s a small matter.”

Meng Chaojun curiously asked, ”So what name do you plan to change to?”

Without even thinking, it was obvious that no matter what name was going to be changed, it would definitely be Chiang Xiao’s own decision. With her strong personality, and Jiang Shiheng spoiling her, could anyone else even go against her?

Chiang Xiao said, ”Just changing the surname, not the given name.”

”Jiang Xiao?”

Old Meng and Meng Chaojun both repeated it, laughing, ”This is nice, it still sounds pleasant and familiar.”

”I also feel that changing to another name would be unfamiliar.”

Old Meng stood up and said, ”Why don’t we go now, we can get it done this afternoon, saving you an extra trip, since you’ve already taken the day off.”

”What about Dad here?”

Meng Chaojun quickly said, ”I’m fine here, I’ll take a nap, and besides, there are nurses.”

He thought for a moment and added, ”I’ll keep the potion bottles under the covers so no one can take them.” With that, he gathered the potion bottles into the quilt.

Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but find it funny yet helpless.

The few bottles she just gave were still of a low spring water proportion.

Next time, she’d bring him the pure ones with more potion, but for now, let him get used to these.

She and Old Meng left the ward, making a signal to Ding Haijing.

Ding Haijing followed them not too close nor too far behind.

Old Meng really wasn’t wrong; he was familiar with the person in charge of these matters, so bringing her over, everything was done quickly.

Changing a name at this time wasn’t as cumbersome as in later years, with so many procedures.

Plus, they had acquaintances.

With proof from the police, she planned to go back to school the next day to update her school records.

”Grandpa, why don’t you come back with me first, I’ll prepare some potion for tomorrow, and I’ll have someone send you back later.”

She had to go to school tomorrow, so she might not be able to visit the hospital for a while.

Old Meng agreed.

As soon as they got home, Ding Haijing followed them in.

Old Meng was startled.

”Who are you?”

He instantly raised his cane and stood in front of Chiang Xiao.

Just now, he hadn’t heard Ding Haijing’s footsteps at all, nor felt anyone following them. Suddenly, this person followed them in, really giving him a scare; he thought it was someone sneaking in with bad intentions.

Ding Haijing was somewhat speechless seeing his stance.
