Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1881: Chapter 1817: It Should Be Her Honor

”What did they say?”

”Your painting received very high praise, so they want you to go over there to compete, and all expenses will be reimbursed!”

”When is it?”

”We need to ask you first. Once you confirm, the overseas process can start, and it will probably take about half a month to complete, which should be just in time for the competition.”

Half a month later...

Chiang Xiao pondered for a moment and said, ”Brother He, can I call you back a bit later?”

”Xiao Chiang, you can’t be telling me you’re actually considering this, right?” He Jin was ecstatic, as they held Chiang Xiao’s painting in high regard, meaning there was a very good chance she might win an award in this competition.

If she could win a prize in that competition, her future would be extraordinary.

This is something to agree to without hesitation; there’s no need to consider it, right?

Chiang Xiao said, ”I need to discuss it with Brother Xinian and check the timing.”

They were getting married in a little over a month, and the competition was said to last for ten days. If there are no surprises, she would be back just in time for the wedding, but how could she know if there might be any unexpected issues?

The timing was very tight, almost exactly matching that period.

She knew how much Meng Xinian was looking forward to getting married on time, so even if it showed that she valued him, she needed to discuss this with him before making any decisions.

”Alright then, talk to him and get back to me quickly with a response. Once I hear back from you, I’ll immediately confirm with them to start the process for you.”

”Okay, thank you, Brother He.”

Chiang Xiao hung up the phone, feeling a little excited inside.

Actually, she knew that Meng Xinian would definitely agree and support her in going after hearing about this.

However, she waited until all three of them were sitting down to eat before bringing it up.

Meng Xinian and Ah Liu had the same reaction upon hearing the news; first, a bit of surprise, and then happiness and pride for her.

”Our Little is amazing, going abroad to compete, bringing glory to the country.” Ah Liu gave her a thumbs-up.

He truly felt proud.

How old was Chiang Xiao, and she had already achieved such accomplishments? She was truly deserving of being Jiang Shiheng’s daughter.

Meng Xinian also placed a chicken drumstick in Chiang Xiao’s bowl, ”A reward for you.”

”So, you both support me going to compete, right?” said Chiang Xiao, looking at them.

”Of course, of course you should participate.” Ah Liu immediately said, glancing at Meng Xinian.

Meng Xinian also nodded, ”I support you.”

”So, I might need to leave in half a month, and the competition may take about ten days...”

”Are you worried about not making it in time for our wedding?” Meng Xinian understood her meaning, reaching out to gently touch her head with a pleased expression, ”I didn’t expect that in Little’s heart, our wedding is more important than anything else. I’m very happy.”

What? Did she mean that?

Plus, the way Meng Xinian said it, it sounded like she was afraid of missing the wedding and not being able to marry him.

She was saying it because she knew how much he cared about the wedding date, alright?

”There’s plenty of time,” Meng Xinian said. ”Even if it takes you a month, there will be ten days left before our wedding, so you’ll make it.”

”Yes, moreover, Little, this competition is very important for you.” Ah Liu added.

”Then I’ll call Brother He shortly to tell him that I’ve decided to participate,” Chiang Xiao said, looking at Ah Liu. ”But Dad, when I’m in Y Country at that time, and you’re home alone for ten days, will you be alright?”
