Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1747: Chapter 1683: Enjoying Romance

Since that’s the case, Chiang Xiao decided to go to the art institute to find Wang Yi.

Anyway, she definitely had to see Ye Wanqing’s painting first. Her progress was too strange.

In the past life, Ye Wanqing took her paintings and won countless awards, seemingly stepping on her head to stand before the world. In this life, as long as there’s a chance, as long as Ye Wanqing wants to rise, she will push Ye Wanqing’s head back down.

Call her cruel or callous if you will.

Chiang Xiao hadn’t seen Wang Yi for some time.

This time when they met, she noticed that Wang Yi had cut her hair short, ear-length, with bangs, looking five years younger, like a girl in her early twenties.

Moreover, Wang Yi’s eyes appeared much more strong and optimistic, her entire demeanor had changed.

”What happened recently?” Chiang Xiao was greatly surprised.

Wang Yi brought her a cup of tea, playfully winking at her, and said, ”Nothing really happened, I just suddenly had an epiphany, no more entanglements, and then felt that there are still many fun things in life.”

”Are you saying you broke up with Chen Yin?” Chiang Xiao raised an eyebrow.

Didn’t Wang Yi visit the hospital every day to take care of Chen Yin after his car accident?

Wang Yi lightly slapped her, smiling with pursed lips, ”I didn’t break up.”

”Hmm?”

What does that mean?

Wang Yi said, ”I just feel that, actually, women don’t have to get married and have children so early. So, you can date slowly for now, get to know each other more, give each other more time.”

”So, you intend to enjoy the relationship without marrying for now?” Chiang Xiao was surprised.

The old Wang Yi was really a girl who prioritized relationships, emotional and single-minded.

Now she’s suddenly become carefree?

Wang Yi nodded, her eyes bright, ”Xiao Chiang, what you said really matches what I feel inside. Exactly, that’s what I mean.”

Holding a steaming cup of tea, Wang Yi started talking with Chiang Xiao.

”I guess it was a sudden change of mindset. Recently I have been taking care of Chen Yin at the hospital, but a few days later, the art institute got extremely busy. You know, one was your and Teacher Liu’s art exhibition, the other was a selection of new talents jointly held by the art institute and the fine arts academy. These two things kept me so busy that I often forgot to drink water and couldn’t visit Chen Yin in the hospital as often. Then, one time when I managed to find some time to go, at the moment I pushed the door open, the instant Chen Yin saw me, I really noticed a sudden brightness in his eyes.”

Chiang Xiao leaned her head on her hand, quietly listening to her.

Wang Yi smiled with pursed lips as she continued, ”To be honest, Xiao Chiang, I’ve been with him for so long, and I’ve never seen him that delighted and excited to see me. It was the first time I saw that light in his eyes brighten because of me. At that moment, I suddenly thought, maybe I was being too proactive before, too clingy, to the point where Chen Yin got used to it and didn’t notice my presence anymore?”

So, at that moment, Wang Yi suddenly found a subtle point between her and Chen Yin.

She became more carefree, no longer constantly focusing on Chen Yin, and on the contrary, Chen Yin turned around, often coming to find her, even complaining that she gave him too little time, always showing reluctance at farewells.

She no longer thought about how far she would go with Chen Yin in the future, but this current state is what she likes.
