Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1554: Chapter 1556: The Head of the Household is You

”We always agreed before that we would get married when you turn eighteen. I’ll submit the marriage application a little early. This won’t change, right?” Meng Xinian looked at her intently.

Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but feel a little apprehensive at the thought of getting married at eighteen.

She would only be in her first year of university. Is it really okay to become a wife then? Besides, considering Meng Xinian’s wolf-like nature, she’s a bit afraid of getting pregnant at eighteen.

If she gets pregnant, she might have to take a break from school for a year or two, right?

That would mean her university would be interrupted again.

Meng Xinian, seeing her slightly troubled expression, felt a pang in his heart and immediately asked, ”What’s wrong? Don’t you want to get married?”

Chiang Xiao shook her head and said, ”It’s not that I don’t want to get married, Brother Xinian, I just want to graduate from university smoothly. I don’t want to have children so soon.”

Becoming a mom too early seems a bit terrifying.

”Then we just won’t have kids for now. We’ll wait until you graduate from university,” Meng Xinian said, feeling relieved since he wanted to marry her, not just have children.

”But what if,” Chiang Xiao bit her lip and looked at him, ”what if you just can’t control yourself?”

”There are ways,” Meng Xinian’s ears turned a little red as he said, ”I’ll ask those who are already married about this problem. Leave it to me; I’ve heard it’s possible to avoid.”

Ahem.

It’s rare to see such innocent men these days.

Although Chiang Xiao felt embarrassed, she couldn’t help but feel a bit amused inside.

Actually, she’s aware of contraception; she’s just afraid that in the heat of the moment, he might forget to take precautions.

But at this moment, how could she discuss these issues with him?

Meng Xinian came over, sat next to her, and held her hand in his. He still didn’t like being so far away that he couldn’t touch her.

”Chiang Xiaoxiao, I’ve waited for you to grow up for so many years. Are you really so cruel as to not marry me and make me wait even longer?”

He looked at her, pitifully.

”Besides, once we’re married, at least my heart can settle. I won’t be on edge. I can legitimately call you my wife. I’ve already bragged to Officer Yang that I’d get married at twenty-five to solve my personal issues. Do you really want me to wait five more years and marry at thirty? In our squad, many have gotten married at twenty-three or twenty-four. Even Zhao Erleng, who is much younger than me, often goes on blind dates and might get married before I do. Then I would have no face in front of him.”

Meng Xinian looked at her and asked, ”Would you really let me lose face in front of them?”

Chiang Xiaoxiao never thought that Tyrant Meng would come up with all sorts of reasons just to persuade her to marry him.

She found it both annoying and funny, and felt a bit soft-hearted too.

”Are you getting married for face?”

Meng Xinian quickly said, ”Of course not just for face, but I’m almost twenty-five. I don’t want to marry too late. Besides, if you marry me, your household registration will be with mine. I’ll be at ease, and you’ll feel more secure too, won’t you?”

Rather than have her household registration on someone else’s book, he’d rather have her name follow his.

Relationship, spouse.

Hmm, that’s really wonderful.

The more Meng Xinian thought about it, the more right it seemed. He gently kneaded her soft hands and coaxed her, ”How about this, I’ll let you be the head of the household, okay? We’ll be on the same household registry, with Chiang Xiao as the head on the first page, and I’ll come after you. How about it?”
