Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1117: Chapter 1118: Hurry Back, I Want to Bite You

Chiang Xiao walked over to Old Meng and sat down beside him. She deliberately sighed, ”Grandpa, starting from today, I won’t be coming back home to live. I have to stay at the boarding school.”

Old Meng was taken aback for a moment.

”Why do you have to stay at the boarding school? Can’t you just explain the situation to your teachers and say that there’s something going on at home?”

When Chiang Xiao wasn’t around, he always felt a bit uneasy.

Meng Chaojun also looked towards her.

”It’s not possible. Our teacher said it’s the school’s regulation that we must stay at the boarding school and also have to eat in the cafeteria. Without any special circumstances, we can’t leave the school anymore. I only got permission today to come back home to explain the situation.”

”So, you mean starting from tomorrow, you can’t come home anymore?” Meng Chaojun couldn’t help but ask.

”Yes.”

”How can that be!” Meng Chaojun immediately moved towards the telephone, ”What’s the phone number of your school? I will call your principal right now.”

Chiang Xiao raised an eyebrow.

She hadn’t expected Meng Chaojun to be so decisive.

She observed Meng Baoyuan without showing any trace of her intention.

Meng Baoyuan’s hand tightened subconsciously, then he said to Meng Chaojun, ”Uncle, school has already dismissed by this time, you might not reach anyone if you call now. Besides, I think the school is not wrong in doing this. After all, Chiang Xiao and her classmates are just there for a month of temporary study, right? They aren’t students of Elite Middle School, so naturally, the school has to pay more attention to their safety. It’s safer and more manageable for them to live at the school, don’t you think? I believe Chiang Xiao should just adhere to the school’s rules, at most I could move over there.”

Chiang Xiao smiled coldly in her heart.

Tail shown.

Why was Meng Baoyuan so nervous about Meng Chaojun making that phone call?

It seemed the call was either made by Meng Baoyuan himself or someone from Boss Meng’s family, and undoubtedly, Meng Baoyuan was in the know.

Unexpectedly, when they couldn’t persuade Old Meng and Meng Chaojun to kick her out, they came up with such a plan.

The Meng Family.

However, Meng Chaojun hadn’t thought too much about it, and upon hearing Meng Baoyuan mention that it was after school hours, and a call might not get through, he paused, then added, ”What’s the name of the principal of Elite Middle School? I’ll call his home directly.”

Meng Baoyuan was taken aback.

Is that necessary?

For a matter of whether or not to stay at the school dorm, you Meng Chaojun are going to call the principal at home?

”Uncle, if you do that and the principal asks what your relationship is with Chiang Xiao, what will you say?”

Meng Chaojun stiffened for a moment.

Chiang Xiao looked at him with a half-smile.

She suddenly understood his way of thinking.

Although Meng Chaojun had accepted her living in the Meng house, it seemed he hadn’t accepted the idea of her being his daughter-in-law.

Tyrant Meng, come back, I want to bite you!

Chiang Xiao thought angrily.

Why should she be mistreated in his house?

Meng Xinian took a bite of the hard bun and held the pendant in one hand.

Jin Xiaomiao approached, handing over several sections of green stalk.

”Officer Meng, for you. This is sugar cane, it has lots of sweet juice, and it’s not easy to find at this time of the year.”

Meng Xinian glanced at the stalks and shook his head, ”No need, you keep it for yourself.” Since they didn’t know where those people were, they temporarily couldn’t allow Jin Xiaomiao to go back to the village, otherwise, no one could guarantee she wouldn’t encounter them in the mountains.

Moreover, Jin Xiaomiao’s brother was still in the hands of those people.

She had gone with her brother to the mountains to dig for worms and then they ran into those people.

As a result, those people held her brother and forced her to perform a play with them, in order to gain the trust of Meng Xinian and the others.
