Transmigrating into the Genius Cannon Fodder’s Aunt

Extra 2 Part 3 – His Little Cutie (III)

Glancing at Zhu Jiarui, Zhu Yiqing said, full of flattery “I’ll be accompanying Young Master Zhu to attend Mohe investor’s wedding. What a coincidence! It’s actually on the same day as yours.”

She sighed again. “I heard Young Master Ning is famously devoted to his fiancée. Just the wedding alone costs several million. I wonder who the bride is! Truly, fate treats people differently.”

Anyone could tell Zhu Yiqing was deliberately trying to annoy Xia Mian. But this time, Ma Yingying and Sun Yuexin were not furious. Already anticipating the pleasure of watching Xia Mian strike back, they struggled to contain their laughters.

Zhu Yiqing mistook their silence for embarrassment and immediately grew smug. “I really have to Young Master Zhu for this.”

Zhu Jiarui, seeing the opportunity, eagerly built on it. “Exactly! Young Master Ning booked our hotel. Just the venue costs over a million a day—and that’s only the site fee.”

“I heard that the wedding dress and groom’s attire were both custom-made by famous Parisian designers, and the jewelry and other accessories were all designed by renowned artists.”

“All in all, the wedding probably costs close to ten million.”

Zhu Yiqing had just meant to embarrass Xia Mian, but hearing this, she felt her own heart burn with envy. Looking adoringly at Zhu Jiarui, she asked, “Young Master Zhu knows so much! Are you very close with Young Master Ning?”

“Fairly close,” Zhu Jiarui said modestly. “My big brother is one of Young Master Ning’s groomsmen!”

Zhu Yiqing’s eyes sparkled. “Then I absolutely must meet this Young Master Ning. I heard he’s not only rich but also extremely handsome!” She glanced at Xia Mian as she said it, as if Young Master Ning completely outshone “Dr. Ning.”

“You really are impressive, Young Master Zhu, knowing someone like that!”

Flattered, Zhu Jiarui floated with pride. “That’s nothing. Don’t worry—I’ll definitely introduce you later!”

Zhu Yiqing had probably been climbing upward in exactly this way.

Meanwhile, Xia Mian’s thought was elsewhere. Why couldn’t she recall Zhu Jiadong having such a younger brother? As far as she knew, that man only had one younger sister.

Feeling she had regained the upper hand, Zhu Yiqing turned back to Xia Mian with a look of sympathy, as if she herself were Young Master Ning’s bride. “Alas! To show my apology, I’ll treat you a meal. Consider it my gift since I can’t attend your wedding!”

She even glanced at Han Haoyan. On one hand, she wanted to humiliate Xia Mian; on the other, she hoped to catch Han Haoyan’s attention. Such a handsome guy was rare; what if he was wealthy too?

Better to leave a good impression for future contact.

Zhu Yiqing originally believed that, given Xia Mian’s personality, she should have snapped back. So she was surprised to find her grinning brightly.

“Sure!” Xia Mian raised a thumbs-up at her. “Princess, you’re really generous. Let’s write off what happened just now. I forgive you!”

Then she turned to the waiter. “Excuse me! Please put this table on this lady’s account!”

“Oh, and bring one bottle of ’82 Lafite and two bottles of Louis XIII,” she added, smiling at her friends. “Let’s drink until we drop!”

Zhu Yiqing’s face completely changed. Before she could speak, the waiter apologized. “Miss Xia, this lady isn’t a member here and doesn’t have an account.”

Xia Mian widened her eyes. “Oh? Princess, you’re not a member here?”

“I thought you and Young Master Zhu were so close. Isn’t this his family’s hotel? How are you not even a member?”

By now Sun Yuexin and the others clearly understood Zhu Yiqing’s temperament and were openly smirking at her. Even Han Haoyan gave her a meaningful glance.

Zhu Yiqing felt as though her skin had been peeled off. Her eyes reddened with anger.

Seeing his beautiful date distressed, Zhu Jiarui immediately felt protective and stepped forward. “What’s all this noise? She just arrived and hasn’t registered yet. Put it on my account.”

“Deal!” Xia Mian beamed. “Thank you!”

Whoever was paying, free food was free food, okay? They were going to enjoy it properly!

Watching their delight and thinking about the tens of thousands he’d just lost for no reason, Zhu Jiarui felt extremely irritated. He simply sat down and said, “I’ll treat this meal, but let me be clear—I’m not a fool. Since you ordered it, finish what you eat and drink what you pour. Don’t pull any low-class tricks like ordering more than you can handle.”

Then he told the waiter, “Bring wine glasses and fill them up for everyone!”

He had already made up his mind to teach them a lesson.

Unfortunately, he had clearly miscalculated.

“What’s the big deal?” Xia Mian said confidently, turning to Sun Yuexin and Ma Yingying. “’82 Lafite, girls! It’s a world-class red wine, over ten thousand a bottle. One sip costs hundreds. We have to savor it properly.”

Then she even asked Zhu Yiqing, “Want some?”

“Why wouldn’t I?” Zhu Yiqing was furious. Even though Zhu Jiarui was the one paying, the expense was clearly on her account, as it was money spent on her behalf. Just the alcohol alone cost over thirty thousand…

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Thirty thousand was enough to renovate a bathroom!

Meanwhile, Xia Mian poured her a glass generously. The group drank with great enthusiasm. Ironically, Zhu Jiarui and Zhu Yiqing—the ones footing the bill—ended up sitting quietly at the lower seats like freeloaders, eating in silence.

After several rounds of drinks, Zhu Jiarui grew increasingly irritated. Damn it, this was supposed to be a lesson!

To his annoyance, Xia Mian’s group clearly knew how to appreciate good alcohol and were drinking with utmost enjoyment.

In the end, though, Xia Mian got drunk.

Originally, she had been worried about her bridesmaids, so she let them drink the Lafite while she, Han Haoyan, and Zhao Cheng who could hold their liquor shared the stronger spirits.

But as they drank, she felt that not tasting the legendary ’82 Lafite would be a waste, so she had a glass.

And that did it.

At first, no one noticed. Not until she picked up her wineglass and walked over to Zhu Yiqing. “Come on, Princess. You’re treating—how can you not drink? Cheers!”

Without waiting, she downed her glass first.

Zhu Yiqing immediately caught on. She refilled Xia Mian’s glass with red wine, almost to the brim. “Go on—bottoms up!”

“Bottoms up!” Xia Mian laughed loudly and drained it all.

Now Sun Yuexin and the others realized what was happening. They hurried over and took the glass from her hand. “Xia Mian! Xia Mian!”

“You’re drunk!”

Ma Yingying added, “Alright, that’s enough. We should head back. There’s the graduation ceremony tomorrow—we have to get up early.”

Zhu Jiarui had been waiting for this moment and immediately interjected, “Leave? The wine isn’t finished yet. How can you leave?”

The Lafite was almost gone, but half a bottle of spirits remained.

At his words, Xia Mian instantly began looking for the bottle. “Right, we have to finish the wine!” Seeing Zhao Cheng pouring a drink, she rushed over, snatched the bottle, and tried to drink straight from it.

“Holy crap!” Zhao Cheng and Sun Yuexin scrambled to grab it back. “Xia Mian, you can’t drink anymore! You’re drunk already!”

“Tsk, impossible!” Xia Mian squinted her eyes and proudly puffed out her chest. “I’ve got a great tolerance! Come on, another bottle!”

Seeing that she was determined to pour it down her throat, Sun Yuexin had no choice but to scare her. “If you drink any more, your Dr. Ning is going to be angry!”

“No, no, no…” she wagged her index finger, grinning from ear to ear, “My Dr. Ning wouldn’t be angry with me, he’s so good to me!”

Then she started calling out dramatically, “Dr. Ning? Dr. Ning! Dr. Ning, where are you? Your little cutie is drunk!”

Everyone: “…”

Caught off guard by the sudden forced-fed PDA, her friends couldn’t help laughing at her adorable behavior.

Huang Yanhong asked, “Do you really like your Dr. Ning that much…?”

“Of course!” Xia Mian stopped trying to drink and hugged the bottle in her arms instead. Squinting proudly, she lifted her chin. “Our Dr. Ning is the most perfect man in this world. And I managed to win him over. Tell me, am I amazing or what?!”

“Amazing, amazing,” Sun Yuexin coaxed her while trying to snatch away the bottle when she wasn’t looking. But Xia Mian was surprisingly alert and immediately ran off clutching it.

Huang Yanhong continued diverting her attention. “So when was your first kiss with Dr. Ning?”

“First kiss…” Xia Mian really did stop instantly. Then, apparently recalling something, her eyes narrowed like a little fox’s, and she began giggling foolishly. “Hehehehehe…”

Her laughter was so infectious everyone started laughing too. Then, eyes curved into crescents, she whispered mysteriously, “I’m telling you, Dr. Ning is super sweet, hehe…”

Everyone felt this line of questioning probably shouldn’t continue.

Sun Xiaoxue shifted the topic slightly. “Have you two ever fought?”

“Nope.” Xia Mian boasted smugly, “Dr. Ning never makes me angry, hahaha.”

“What about you making him angry?”

Xia Mian tilted her head and blinked. “I’m this cute, so of course he forgives me…”

Everyone: “…”

Good lord! No wonder Dr. Ning spoiled her so much. Who could possibly resist that?

Once nobody responded, Xia Mian raised the bottle again to continue drinking, but Li Lizhen quickly pressed it down. “Where’s her phone? Hurry and call Dr. Ning.”

Sun Yuexin immediately rummaged through her bag, found Ning Shaobai’s number, and dialed.

The call was answered quickly, and a deep magnetic voice came through the receiver. “Hello? Mianmian?”

The noisy Xia Mian instantly quieted down.

“Hello? Mianmian, what’s wrong?”

After confirming it was Ning Shaobai’s voice, Xia Mian leaned toward the phone and grinned foolishly. “Dr. Ning, Dr. Ning, come quickly! They said I’m drunk…”

Ning Shaobai immediately noticed something wrong with her tone. “Which room are you in?”

Sun Yuexin answered for her.

“I’ll be right there. Please help me keep an eye on her.”

After the call ended, Xia Mian hugged the bottle again and muttered, “Hurry, hurry. Once Dr. Ning gets here, I won’t be allowed to drink anymore.”

Zhu Yiqing, who had been mostly silent until now, suddenly said, “Your Dr. Ning cheated on you.”

“What the fuck?” Sun Yuexin stared at Zhu Yiqing. “Are you insane?”

Even Ma Yingying frowned. “Zhu Yiqing, you’ve gone too far!”

But Zhu Yiqing insisted, “I’m not lying. I once went to Yan University Hospital and saw that Dr. Ning kissing another woman!”

She sounded utterly serious, and for a moment everyone exchanged uncertain glances, unable to tell whether she was telling the truth.

At that moment, Zhu Jiarui suddenly moved closer to Xia Mian. She was both beautiful and adorable, and he had been itching with desire for a while now. Earlier, the two guys had guarded her too tightly. Seeing someone was about to come pick her up, he figured this was his last chance to take advantage.

Han Haoyan reacted quickly and grabbed his wrist coldly. “What are you doing?”

Zhu Jiarui sneered. “You haven’t finished the alcohol yet and already want to leave? No way.”

Then he started wooing Xia Mian. “Your Dr. Ning already cheated and abandoned you. Why not come with me instead?”

“You keep talking shit—” Han Haoyan raised a fist to hit him.

But before the punch could connect, a blur shot past. Zhu Jiarui cried out and instantly dropped to his knees. Nearby, Xia Mian lowered her leg after delivering the kick, but the force threw her off balance. She stumbled backward and would have fallen if the girls behind her hadn’t caught her in time.

Those who had seen her fighting skills before, like Han Haoyan, weren’t too surprised. But Zhu Yiqing was terrified seeing Zhu Jiarui’s condition and rushed over. “Young Master Zhu! Young Master Zhu, are you okay?”

Then she looked up at Xia Mian. Yet there was no concern in her eyes, only gloating delight. “Xia Mian, you’re finished! How dare you hit him? Do you even know who he is?”

The door suddenly swung open, and Ning Shaobai entered with a cold expression. “I’d like to know who he is too.”

Seeing Ning Shaobai, Zhu Yiqing sneered. “He’s the young master of this hotel! Dr. Ning, just wait—you’re all done for now! …Ah!”

She suddenly cried out in pain and collapsed to the floor too.

The people entering behind Ning Shaobai were greeted with the sight of Xia Mian stepping on Zhu Yiqing’s shoulder arrogantly. “How dare you raise your voice at my Dr. Ning?”

Still unsatisfied, she stomped harder. “Even I’ve never yelled at him. Who the hell do you think you are?!”

Tears immediately burst from Zhu Yiqing’s eyes. “Xia Mian, let go of me!”

All the anger in Ning Shaobai instantly disappeared. Half laughing, half exasperated, he said, “Mianmian, come here.”

The moment Xia Mian heard his voice and turned around to see him, her expression switched instantly. With little whimpering noises, she threw herself into his arms pitifully. “Dr. Ning…”

Ning Shaobai stroked her head. “How did you end up drinking like this?”

But instead of answering, Xia Mian pointed accusingly at the two people on the floor. “Dr. Ning, they’re awful! They bullied me, woohoo…!!!”

Then she started fake sobbing with exaggerated wails. Her attempt at framing them was painfully obvious.

Ning Shaobai: “…”

Everyone: “…”

Author’s Note:

Ning Shaobai: “Oh! Whose little cutie is this?”

Xia Mian: “I’ll be even cuter once I go back to Dr. Ning’s room!”
