Supreme Warrior in the City

Capital City, Qinghe Academy.

The Divine Master stood at the window, a white glow lingering in his hand.

Suddenly, two people rushed in from the doorway and immediately kneeled upon entering.

These two were precisely Ling Pavilion Master of Lingxiao Pavilion and Qi Sect Leader of Tianya Haijiao.

”Greetings, Divine Master!” Their voices were respectful, more so than when facing the Heavenly Court Master in the past.

The Divine Master turned to look at them and casually tossed the white light in his hand before them: ”Take a look at this.”

They glanced at it, then their expressions changed, exclaiming simultaneously, ”A distress signal!? Su Yang has finally made a move?”

Previously, when they went to Yan Gui City, they had intended to capture Su Yang. However, after a long duration of disruptions there, they still did not encounter Su Yang. During this time, Su Yang seemed to have vanished completely, and they could not find him at all. Yet, everyone knew that Su Yang would definitely reappear and take action again for sure.

Now, with someone sending a distress signal, it was undoubtedly Su Yang’s doing!

The Divine Master did not speak; instead, with a wave of his hand, two more white lights landed before them.

Their expressions changed again, and Ling Pavilion Master frowned: ”Two more distress signals, has Su Yang split his men into three groups? What are they planning? Are they intending to keep harassing us from outside and disperse our forces?”

Qi Sect Leader responded solemnly, ”Divine Master, we must not fall into Su Yang’s trap. This man’s despicable and devious, it’s certainly a trap. He’s doing this deliberately to lure our people from Capital City. In reality, he has no intention of facing us head-on; his true aim is diversion with the tiger away from the mountain. Once our forces are away, they will attack Capital City to confront us. That is their true objective!”

The Divine Master chuckled softly and said, ”So, what’s your suggestion?”

The two exchanged a glance and said in unison, ”Recall everyone to Capital City and firmly defend Qinghe Academy; whatever Su Yang’s plans are, they will become useless!”

The Divine Master gave them a sidelong glance and said softly, ”Letting a mere Su Yang frighten us into cowering in Capital City, unable to venture out, wouldn’t that tarnish Divine Palace’s reputation?”

The two felt embarrassed; they had both suffered significantly under Su Yang’s hand. Thus, they remained extremely cautious when confronting Su Yang.

The Divine Master approached them and asked quietly, ”Are you two truly that afraid of Su Yang?”

Both changed their expressions, and Ling Pavilion Master quickly replied, ”Divine Master, we... we’re not afraid of Su Yang, but this person is excessively tricky. Hence, in dealing with him, we... we must proceed with caution, which is vital.”

”Indeed, Divine Master, this Su Yang cannot be underestimated!” Qi Sect Leader quickly added, ”He is extremely cunning, and we cannot afford to be careless.”

”Is that so?” The Divine Master smiled and softly said, ”But in my view, he’s not much, after all!”

The two exchanged glances and quickly said, ”The Divine Master possesses great talent and unparalleled wisdom. How could Su Yang even compare to the Divine Master?”

The Divine Master ignored their flattery and sneered, ”If Su, indeed, could endure not attacking the outside cities, I might worry about any other trickery up his sleeve. However, seeing him attack the cities, it only proves he is but a mortal. His so-called schemes are nothing but child’s play in my eyes!”

Hearing the Divine Master speak with such confidence, Ling Pavilion Master and Qi Sect Leader quickly heaped more praise. They did not know what the Divine Master was truly thinking, but the prior words were clearly meant to admonish them against fearing Su Yang too much.

”Divine Master, what should we do now?” Ling Pavilion Master quickly asked, ”Should I gather some people and immediately go to capture this Su?”

The Divine Master glanced at him, sneering, ”Are you truly willing to go?”

Ling Pavilion Master felt instantly awkward; he had asked to merely display loyalty. In truth, he dared not go after Su Yang at this moment. Su Yang clearly had intentions; confronting him now would be tantamount to seeking death.

The Divine Master sneered disdainfully and waved his hand, saying, ”No need to be afraid, and I won’t send you to your deaths. Su divides his men into three to attack these cities, hoping to disperse our forces. Going there would mean courting death, achieving nothing!”

The two bowed their heads, remaining silent; in truth, they had thought of this. The problem was, with Su Yang being so elusive, what could they do other than recalling everyone to guard Capital City?

”In this situation, dealing with Su Yang is actually quite easy,” the Divine Master added quietly.

The two widened their eyes; unable to devise a method to handle Su Yang, did the Divine Master find it easy?

”Now that we know what Su Yang intends, we just need to set a trap,” the Divine Master smiled faintly, ”We should send a team to hide in one city. Should Su Yang carelessly choose that city, wouldn’t he fall directly into our trap? Then, no matter his skills, could he escape?”

The two exchanged glances, with Ling Pavilion Master cautiously asking, ”Divine Master, Su’s actions are erratic; we don’t know which city he’ll target next. Which city should we lie in wait for him?”

”We don’t need to know his next target; choose any city to wait!” The Divine Master chuckled, ”If he keeps attacking our cities, inevitably, one day, he will enter our chosen city, right?”

The two had an epiphany, finally understanding the Divine Master’s intent to employ this waiting tactic. By randomly choosing a city and laying in wait for Su Yang, as long as they don’t intercept him, he will eventually attack there!

”But, Divine Master, if he never chooses our city...” Ling Pavilion Master anxiously whispered, ”Should we have poor luck and pick a city he never comes to, in the meantime, won’t he attack many of our cities? Wouldn’t we suffer heavy losses then?”
