Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!

Fu Mingxue was surprised.

But she reached out and took it anyway.

She gave it a squeeze. It was a thick stack.

”In total, it’s fifteen thousand.”

Fu Mingxue was stunned by Director Liu’s words—

’Holy shit!’

’How much?’

’Fifteen thousand?’

She could hardly believe it.

”Director Liu, why is it so much? Didn’t Director Zheng already give me a payment?”

The last payment was one thousand.

”This time is different. This is the reward for your new engine design. Fifteen thousand—it sounds like a huge number, but it’s really not that much for a design like yours.”

”Don’t worry. The main factory held a meeting to discuss the amount for this reward. We’ve also informed your design institute, and their leadership has already approved it. They said the money is your personal reward.”

Director Liu then pulled out a piece of paper and held it up for Fu Mingxue to see.

”See? This has been officially stamped.”

Fu Mingxue took it for a look. It was indeed stamped by the research institute, and it even had the signature of the institute’s director.

Since the research institute’s leadership had approved it, she could accept the money with a clear conscience.

”Thank you, Director Liu.”

She felt that if more opportunities for this kind of side hustle came up, she should definitely take them.

After all, she had her own expenses.

”Don’t thank me. You earned it. Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be heading back.”

”Alright, take care!” Fu Mingxue was in an exceptionally good mood.

’Maybe I should design a few more new models for this factory,’ she mused.

But the thought was fleeting.

After all, her own R&D blueprints were more important right now, and she had a team to manage.

Besides, if she frequently took on design work for other organizations,

the research institute would surely have something to say about it.

They wouldn’t let her take on so much freelance work.

She stored the wad of cash in her space, then got ready to head to class.

When Fu Mingxue arrived for class, her students sensed something was different. ’Is Teacher Fu in a particularly good mood today?’

Fu Mingxue was unaware of their thoughts.

If she had been, she would have thought, ’Who wouldn’t be in a good mood after getting a fifteen-thousand-yuan bonus?’

As soon as her last morning class ended, Fu Mingxue went straight to the cafeteria for lunch.

Then, without a moment’s rest, she hopped on her electric bicycle and sped over to the First Auto Factory.

The cold wind HOWLED, and even though she had wrapped her entire face in a scarf, it didn’t help much.

’If only I had a car, I wouldn’t have to freeze in the winter.’

Director Liu hadn’t expected her to arrive so quickly.

He felt a bit guilty seeing her face, flushed red from the cold.

”I should have sent Xiao Li to pick you up.” It would have saved her from freezing like this on her bicycle in the biting wind.

”It’s fine. Let’s get started. Where are we going?”

Fu Mingxue wanted to make the most of her time.

After all, once she was done here, she still had to rush back to school.

”The conference room. The others are already there.”

They were the engineers who specialized in automotive engine R&D.

”Alright.” Fu Mingxue led the way out.

She was quite familiar with the conference rooms here.

She could remember any place she had been to once, no matter how complex the layout.

It couldn’t be helped; she had a photographic memory.

’Thanks again, Mom and Dad!’

When she arrived at the conference room, she found that several engineers were already there.

Upon seeing Fu Mingxue enter, they all stood up.

And greeted her in unison, ”Ms. Fu!”

Fu Mingxue gave them a slight nod.

Then she walked to the empty seat beside the head of the table and sat down.

Noticing a stack of documents on the table, she asked, ”Is this your wind tunnel test data?”
