Outside Of Time

Chapter 1798: What is Dimension!

As Xu Qing spoke, the sky beneath his feet rippled like water, creating concentric circles that spread outward.

An ancient, primordial aura emanated from these ripples—

This was the sign of his divine ability: Fishing the Moon From the Well!

This technique had accompanied Xu Qing for many years, but as his cultivation advanced, its power and level had gradually fallen behind. Against those below the Immortal realm, it remained sharp, but against Summer Immortals... its potency was no longer sufficient.

Yet this time, when Xu Qing manifested it, there was something fundamentally different about it.

Because within it... lay his Dimension Ordinance Law!

During his journey back to Wanggu, Xu Qing had deeply contemplated his Ordinance Law, even encountering an unknown enemy.

That confrontation had delayed his return slightly, but it had also granted him further enlightenment about his Ordinance Law.

He understood clearly that his Ordinance was unlike that of ordinary Summer Immortals—because in terms of hierarchy... it had already birthed Law!

Ordinance came first, Law followed.

And Law... was a domain only Immortal Lords could grasp.

”My Ordinance Law—is Dimension.”

Dimension was profound and unfathomable. In Xu Qing’s understanding, it encompassed all things, something outsiders could hardly comprehend.

Only by truly mastering it could one grasp its fundamental nature.

”Dimension is the deconstruction of complex structures, breaking them down into independent directional components.”

With each step Xu Qing took, the ripples around him multiplied, his aura shaking heaven and earth. In his mind, his comprehension of his Ordinance Law appeared.

”The number of these independent directions is the very meaning of the word ’Dimension.’”

”As for its manifestation—it is deconstruction and integration.”

”Such as breaking ’one’ into ’infinity.’”

This understanding was something Xu Qing had attained during his journey back, and it also verified his process of realizing this Ordinance Law within the chaotic spacetime turbulence.

Because so-called ”Unity” was, within the scope of deconstruction, the reintegration of all independent components—

Turning infinity back into one.

This was what he had done in the spacetime turbulence, thus birthing the Dimension Ordinance Law.

”Turning infinity into one; breaking one into infinity.”

”And the adjustments during the process of deconstruction and integration—the addition and subtraction of these components—are the manifestations of Dimension!”

Xu Qing murmured inwardly.

Yet even as he grasped this, Xu Qing faintly sensed that his current level might not be true Unity in the absolute sense.

To be precise, his current Unity was more likely a limited Unity within a specific scope.

”If ’one’ represents my Dao, then what my Ordinance Law can deconstruct is only this ’one.’”

”But beyond this ’one,’ there may exist many more ’ones’!”

”Just as different deities possess different divine authorities, as different cultivators wield different Ordinances and Laws—these are all other ’ones’ beyond my Dao.”

”To truly integrate and become the sole ’One,’ a higher level is required!”

Xu Qing’s eyes deepened. He understood—this was likely the path of his future.

Once achieved, when no independence remained within his star ring, that would be true integration—the merging of all Ordinances, the convergence of all authorities. At that point, he would become the absolute One, the very Source.

This realm was beyond Xu Qing’s current reach, but he could perceive its direction.

”This should be my path to Venerable Immortal!”

”For now, I cannot achieve true Unity, but... my Dimension Ordinance Law’s ability to adjust the deconstruction and integration of all things will create unimaginable ascension!”

”My divine abilities can be transformed through this method!”

”My spells, even all magical treasures, can be elevated the same way!”

”So now...”

A strange light flashed in Xu Qing’s eyes. After taking seven steps, as the Ancient Immortal tensed like a cornered beast, Xu Qing paused.

He raised his right hand and swept it forward.

With that motion—

Heaven and earth shifted colors!

Thunder roared across the world!

Behind him, the void split open. Beneath his feet, endless water-like ripples spread.

The entire sky seemed to transform into the surface of a well!

Tremendous waves surged, expanding across the firmament, turning the world into a well—or perhaps, a celestial sea.

And upon that surface, a reflection appeared.

That reflection was the Xu Qing’s Dimension Ordinance Law!

It was the painting left behind by his artist self of another parallel spacetime—the final stroke of a dying man’s brush!

In an instant, this painting merged into the divine ability, turning the turbulent well-water into absolute stillness.

Then, with a single thought from Xu Qing, his Ordinance Law spread like ink, beginning an in-depth deconstruction of this divine ability.

Fishing the Moon From the Well, in essence, was composed of space, moon shadow, reality and illusion, and belief!

At that moment, under the power of Dimension Ordinance Law, they were meticulously deconstructed:

Space – The medium of nothingness forming the well of heaven and earth.

Moon Shadow – The projection of the enemy’s soul, refracted upon the water’s surface.

Reality and Illusion – The power of reversal, turning the illusory moon reflection into a true soul.

Belief – The force that manifests as a giant hand, the power to ”fish” the reflection from the water.

Before becoming a Summer Immortal, before comprehending the Dimension Ordinance Law, Xu Qing could not have dissected his own divine ability to this degree.

But now, the essence of Fishing the Moon From the Well was laid bare in his mind—clear yet abstract, broken into fundamental components.

And he could adjust them, elevating the divine ability!

His first adjustment was to the spatial aspect.

He expanded it!

The once-limited scope of the well now encompassed all parallels, all spacetimes—an infinite well capable of containing even Summer Immortals!

”This is my Dimension as a Well!”

As the adjustment completed, the skies of Wanggu blurred, merging with the starry cosmos. Within the rippling rings, layers upon layers of worlds became visible.

A terrifying pressure descended, causing mountains to tremble and rivers to halt.

All living beings felt their hearts quake. Every race was struck with awe. Even gods concealed Their presence.

Even Old Master Seventh inhaled sharply.

The Ancient Immortal’s expression changed drastically.

From Xu Qing, he sensed a mortal threat!

Without hesitation, he lunged forward, aiming to interrupt Xu Qing’s divine ability before it could fully manifest!

In a single step, he closed the distance.

But Xu Qing’s adjustments, though seemingly slow, were completed in the blink of a thought!

Just as the Ancient Immortal approached—

The Moon Shadow component of Fishing the Moon From the Well was also enhanced!

Instantly elevated!

Its level soared!

No longer limited to reflecting souls—it now mirrored causality, fate, time, parallels, and all traces of existence!

This was... Omniscient Reflection!

Next, Xu Qing infused the Belief component with his immortal will and reinforced Reality and Illusion with the power of parallels, completing the final ascension of his divine ability!

In the span of a breath—

Fishing the Moon From the Well underwent a metamorphosis!

The vast heavens, all spacetimes, even every parallel existence—all became the surface of the well!

The Ancient Immortal, charging toward Xu Qing, was instantly locked in place!

And within the well’s waters, his soul was reflected!

Not just his soul—his causality, his fate, even the trajectory of his life, all were mirrored with omniscient clarity.

This was no longer Fishing the Moon From the Well—

This was a new divine ability capable of slaying immortals!

And Xu Qing’s voice, carrying supreme authority, resonated across Wanggu like the decree of heaven:

”Plucking Stars from the Cosmic Well!”

As he spoke, his right hand rose. His immortal will roared, transforming into a giant hand that plunged into the well—

And seized the reflection of the Ancient Immortal, along with all his traces!

The Ancient Immortal shuddered violently.

He could feel his causality being manipulated, his fate interfered with, his life uprooted, his soul torn asunder.

The sense of mortal peril was overwhelming.

He understood—under this Plucking Stars from the Cosmic Well, all his traces were ensnared, across time and parallels.

There was nowhere to hide.

Yet...

He did not struggle.

Instead, he released his immortal will, allowing Xu Qing to ”draw” him freely.

As the aura of annihilation intensified—as his causality, life, and fate were on the verge of being plucked—

The Ancient Immortal’s silver eyes blazed with unprecedented light!

”Without entering the trap, how could I discern the nature of your Ordinance?”

”Now that I have stepped into it with my very being... your Ordinance is actually this. Truly, you are a heaven’s chosen.”

”However...”

The Ancient Immortal gazed at Xu Qing through the water’s surface, his voice hoarse.

As he spoke, an aura of Ordinance—far stronger than before—erupted from his body!

”I, too, was once a heaven’s chosen!”

”In these past thirty years, you have grown—but so have I, with the return of my external will!”

”And my Ordinance... is not merely the concept of ’infinity’!”

”Since you wish to see it, then behold—what my Ordinance truly is!”

With those words, the Ancient Immortal’s aura exploded, transforming wind and clouds, collapsing the void. Its influence extended beyond Wanggu—affecting every region and spacetime within Xu Qing’s divine ability!

But that wasn’t all.

As the Ancient Immortal’s Ordinance surged, the reflections in the well underwent a baffling change!

His reflected soul seemed infinitely existent—no matter how much Xu Qing ”fished,” it could never be fully extracted!

Beside it, his causality was the same—infinite causality!

Even his fate mirrored this—infinite fate!
