Outside Of Time

Chapter 1797: The Battle Starts!

Editor: Atlas Studios

The atmosphere had reached its peak, majestic and overwhelming!

Heavenly winds swept in all directions as Xu Qing stood in mid-air, his expression cold, his gaze calm as he looked at the solemn-faced Ancient Immortal.

With a faint utterance, he raised his right hand and waved it lightly.

With that wave—

Wanggu trembled!

The skies churned!

The earth echoed with a deep, resonant hum!

”Seal—Earth Sky!”

The moment these three words were spoken, they became law—his will manifesting as reality!

A sealing force emerged, forcibly separating heaven and earth!

All beings on the ground lost the ability to ascend to the skies!

In that instant, every cultivator, every god—whether from Wanggu or the holy lands—felt their bodies tremble as they were forced to descend to the ground.

Because this separation of heaven and earth came from the power of a Summer Immortal!

None below the level of a Summer Immortal or True God could resist it in the slightest!

Thus, in the blink of an eye, only three figures remained in the skies above the human imperial capital:

Xu Qing, the Ancient Immortal, and Old Master Seventh!

”Master, please oversee this battle for me.”

Xu Qing spoke respectfully.

Old Master Seventh smiled, the pride in his eyes reaching an unprecedented peak. With a slight nod, he took a step back, instantly returning to the ground and standing beside the Empress.

The Empress was still in a daze, Her mind reeling as She stared at Xu Qing in the sky. Unable to suppress Her disbelief, She turned to Old Master Seventh and asked:

”His cultivation...?”

Old Master Seventh didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he reached into the void beside him and grabbed—

Whoosh!

Erniu’s figure was yanked out by the neck, dangling in the air like a helpless chick.

”Old man, easy! That hurts! Ow ow ow!”

Erniu flailed his arms and legs, his face twisting in exaggerated pain, though he still managed to force a flattering grin.

”Master, I missed you.”

Old Master Seventh stared at him.

”Explain. What’s going on with your junior brother’s cultivation? And who are they?”

Erniu’s eyebrows shot up—he knew exactly who ”they” referred to. Just as he was about to launch into one of his grandiose tales—

Old Master Seventh cut him off.

”Speak plainly.”

Erniu’s face fell, and he sighed dramatically.

”They’re from the Fifth Star Ring—Little Junior Brother’s subordinates. To be honest, Master, Junior Brother’s got quite the reputation there. Even you wouldn’t outrank him if you went.”

”As for his cultivation... I only ran into him recently, and he was already a Great Emperor by then. Oh, and he’s got an elder brother who’s an Immortal Lord... I think he’s trying to steal your disciple!”

The words ”Immortal Lord” sent a jolt through Old Master Seventh’s heart, though he kept his expression neutral.

But Erniu wasn’t done. Each sentence that followed was more shocking than the last.

”That Immortal Lord brother gave Junior Brother a bunch of female gods—apparently, each one’s father is a Lord God.”

Old Master Seventh’s breathing hitched slightly. Beside him, the Empress’s eyes widened.

”Naturally, I wasn’t about to be outdone, so I took Little Qing to the tomb of a Venerable God... and turns out, that Venerable God was still alive—”

”Ack! Ow ow ow! Old man, not so hard!”

Erniu yelped as Old Master Seventh’s grip suddenly tightened around his neck.

Old Master Seventh loosened his hold slightly. Hearing about an Immortal Lord—a legendary existence—was one thing. A Lord God was already beyond comprehension. But a Venerable God?

That was a realm he had only speculated about—a supreme existence even in the star rings!

And now, this troublemaker of a disciple had actually gone to a Venerable God’s tomb?!

”Keep talking!”

Old Master Seventh took a deep breath and spoke in a low voice.

Erniu blinked, secretly pleased. This time, old man, you’re definitely going to look at me differently.

He cleared his throat.

”In that tomb, I didn’t do much—just accidentally swallowed a Little Qing. Apparently, a pretty powerful one too. Then, Desolate appeared, and at the critical moment, I saved Little Qing and dragged him into a spacetime vortex...”

”We got separated in the vortex. Later, worried sick about him, I exhausted all my means to find him. When I did, he was crying—so pitiful! My heart softened, so with my help, Little Qing became an immortal. And just like that, he stopped crying.”

Old Master Seventh frowned, about to speak—

BOOM!

A deafening explosion resounded from the sky!

Old Master Seventh, the Empress, and even Erniu instantly looked up.

So did the powerful experts of all races—everyone’s divine senses converged on the human imperial capital, focusing on Xu Qing!

On the battle that would decide the fate of Wanggu!

The sky was now ablaze with radiant light—and the source was the Ancient Immortal!

With a single step, the Ancient Immortal caused the heavens to tremble! His aura surged to terrifying heights, making Wanggu itself quake. The sky split open, revealing the starry cosmos beyond.

Standing beneath the stars, his figure seemingly merging with the cosmos, the Ancient Immortal’s dim eyes locked onto Xu Qing. His hoarse voice echoed across the world:

”Young Summer Immortal...”

”Since you’ve been waiting for me, let this old man see if your strength matches your words!”

As his voice faded, the Ancient Immortal—whose weathered appearance made him seem like he had crawled out of a grave—raised his right hand and pointed at Xu Qing!

That single finger contained his Ordinance!

In an instant—

The heavens and earth changed colors!

Winds and clouds reversed!

The sky churned violently, and the starry depths grew even more profound!

A force capable of toppling mountains and drying seas erupted from the Ancient Immortal, forcibly rewriting countless rules and laws. At the tip of his finger, a single drop of blue water formed!

The moment this droplet appeared, an overwhelming, terrifying pressure radiated from it!

Every living being on the ground felt their bodies tremble, as if they were about to be crushed to dust. Their souls quivered as if on the verge of being torn apart!

Even those in distant regions sensed impending doom, their instincts screaming of catastrophe!

Because this droplet was born from the power of a Summer Immortal—it carried immortal might!

And in the next instant—

With a light flick of the Ancient Immortal’s finger, the droplet shot toward Xu Qing!

But what truly horrified all living beings, sending thunderbolts of shock through their minds, was what happened next!

As the droplet flew toward Xu Qing, it began to multiply!

One became two.

Two became four.

Four became eight...

In the blink of an eye, that single droplet had transformed into a vast, world-shaking blue sea!

A single drop had become an ocean!

And this ocean blotted out the sky as it roared toward Xu Qing!

Where it passed, the void shattered, the heavens were obscured, and even the starry cosmos lent it power!

This sea contained the concept of time and space, the essence of parallel worlds—it seemed to encompass everything!

On a higher level, it was the tide of all spacetimes!

This sea came from countless worlds!

This was the power of a Summer Immortal! Even if their Ordinance wasn’t specifically related to spacetime, at this level, all paths ultimately converged!

The minds of all living beings went blank.

Because what they saw wasn’t a sea.

The attack of a Summer Immortal had completely surpassed their comprehension.

Even the Empress could only vaguely sense its nature.

To the people of the imperial capital and the beings of Wanggu, what they witnessed was a series of abstract, intricately layered vortices!

Only Old Master Seventh could clearly see the sea, his expression grave.

But Xu Qing’s heart remained calm from beginning to end.

Facing the world-destroying sea of the Ancient Immortal’s Ordinance, he felt no ripple of emotion. He didn’t retreat—instead, he raised his right hand and gently pressed forward!

His fingertip touched the roaring, endless waves!

At the moment of contact—

In the eyes of all living beings, something unbelievable happened!

The abstract vortices in the sky began to dissolve as if melting away!

Old Master Seventh’s mind quaked violently—what he saw was different.

He clearly witnessed the blue sea tearing apart under Xu Qing’s finger!

As if its very components were being extracted!

And that was exactly what was happening!

Xu Qing was stripping away the sea’s foundations!

First, he extracted time and space, isolating the sea to this single world—cut off from all others!

Then he extracted the concept of ”infinite”, turning the endless into the finite, stopping its multiplication!

In the span of a breath—

Under Old Master Seventh’s stunned gaze, the once-turbulent blue sea was stripped of all its enhancements!

From a unified whole, it became individual parts!

From an ocean, it turned back into droplets!

These droplets, once fused together, were now separated.

But the changes didn’t stop there—

Something that even shocked the Ancient Immortal occurred next!

The transformation of the vast sea continued relentlessly. After being reduced to individual droplets, those droplets... were instantly stripped of their very foundation!

No longer were they three-dimensional drops, but had become... flat planes!

For this time, what Xu Qing had extracted was their very dimensionality, the concept of height itself!

The water droplets lost all sense of depth, becoming like the two-dimensional painted objects Xu Qing had once witnessed in the second layer of the Aurora Immortal Palace!

The transformation was still ongoing!

Those planar water fragments underwent further change, this time unraveling into mere threads of existence.

Until finally, when they reached Xu Qing, they had been reduced to dimensionless points, vanishing into nothingness the moment they made contact with his form.

Gone without a trace!

Though this process seems lengthy, it all happened in the time it takes for lightning to flash!

The sea had become nothingness.

The masses couldn’t comprehend what had happened—only Old Master Seventh understood.

On the surface, the Ancient Immortal had merely created a droplet that became a sea. But this was a clash of Ordinances—a battle where life and death could be decided in an instant!

Even he wasn’t confident he could have completely neutralized that attack.

Had Xu Qing failed to counter it, he would have become part of that sea—just another droplet.

The more he understood, the more his mind reeled.

Because the Ordinance Xu Qing had used to dissolve the sea—he couldn’t fathom it!

Even the Ancient Immortal’s pupils constricted sharply. He stared at Xu Qing as if facing his greatest enemy, his voice low and grave:

”Your Ordinance!”

Xu Qing’s expression remained unchanged. He took a step forward, advancing toward the Ancient Immortal as his calm voice echoed:

”If your Ordinance is limited to the concept of ’infinite,’ then...”

”You may die now.”
