Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

What the hell kind of place could make him pull a stunt like that.

Zhang Beixing looked over, and when he saw where the dart had landed, the corner of his mouth couldn’t help but twitch a little.

Nice. Just great.

...

...

”According to the latest news received by this station, after the First Extraordinary Reserve Squad of The Ninth Bureau returned from Willpower Country, the first squad was immediately disbanded. After our interview with Xu Feng, the former captain of the first squad who just challenged Oizaki’s Eight Challenges, he said the first squad will not be re-formed. The next team within The Ninth Bureau to head overseas will be Squad Two, which has already been established for more than three months.”

”However, he didn’t know the exact departure time of Squad Two. Later we contacted Minister Zhang Beixing’s secretary. From the secretary we learned that during yesterday’s dart‑throwing session, Squad Two’s destination for this trip abroad was decided and the trip has already been arranged. They will depart tonight, and the destination this time is—”

”Lijian Country!”

”...”

On the plane.

Leng Bing sat next to Zhang Beixing, and the other squad members were all seated behind them.

Zhang Beixing was taking Squad Two on one of The Ninth Bureau’s private jets—his personal plane.

Squad Two was really getting the sweet end of the deal this time, enjoying the perks of tagging along with Zhang Beixing.

The vehicles and personnel accompanying Squad Two were on another plane, a dedicated military transport aircraft that Zhang Beixing had borrowed from Zhang Delin.

Every time there was an operation, Zhang Beixing would have someone contact Zhang Delin in advance, then get that plane from him.

Both aircraft were already in the air now, flying toward Lijian Country.

The annoying part this time was that they couldn’t bring The Ninth Bureau’s mobile temporary combat command vehicle along.

That vehicle counts as a military asset, and Lijian Country wouldn’t allow it to show up on their turf.

Besides, what Zhang Beixing filed this time was a ”tourism” itinerary, officially unrelated to any operation. Otherwise they really might not have been able to go.

The main reason was that the mess Zhang Beixing had made over in Europe before was just too big. Once they heard he was bringing a squad to Lijian Country, the folks at Lijian Country’s immigration almost lost their minds.

They were dying to just shut the door in Zhang Beixing’s face.

Too bad, too bad—his identity is what it is; you can’t just refuse him because you feel like it. That would set off a diplomatic earthquake.

Even if Zhang Beixing isn’t a diplomat.

For this trip, you could basically say they didn’t bring a single hot weapon.

Not only no hot weapons—even cold weapons, they brought very few.

”Minister, if it were up to me, I really wouldn’t want to go to Lijian Country. How come the first squad got such good treatment when they went out, but we’re stuck with this? It’s not fair!”

Listening to Leng Bing whining beside him, Zhang Beixing shook his head. ”Your luck sucks, who are you blaming for that? If you had the skills, you could’ve hit a better spot with that dart. South Korea, Singapore, weren’t those all pretty good options? Your hand’s cursed and somehow that’s my fault?”

Leng Bing was at a loss for words.

What Zhang Beixing said was, in fact, completely true.

Everything, all of it, came down to his miserable luck.

”What I’m most worried about right now is, Lijian Country really is different. Over there basically everyone has a gun. It’s scary as hell.”

”Me personally, I don’t really care. I’ve already become a Great Grandmaster. Even if my Great Grandmaster level is a bit watered‑down, it’s still Great Grandmaster.”

”Before I didn’t feel it, but ever since I broke through, this heightened sense of perception is honestly terrifying.”

”At this point I even feel that as long as the number of handguns isn’t totally ridiculous, they basically won’t be able to hurt me.”

Zhang Beixing nodded. Yeah, on that point Leng Bing wasn’t wrong.

The difference between his Great Grandmaster level and a normal Great Grandmaster was just in raw strength and burst power being a bit weaker. In other aspects, he was practically the same.

”Since you’re here, settle in. You’re the one who picked Lijian Country, and you can’t change it now, so just accept it properly.”

”People usually go from easy to hard. You went straight from hard to easy. Once you manage to handle Lijian Country, won’t everything afterward be a lot easier to face?”

Zhang Beixing kept layering it on, line after line, the whole package, pure brainwashing mode.

Leng Bing nodded. Even though he knew what Zhang Beixing was saying was a bit perfunctory, what could he do.

”Minister, what are we going to do once we land?”

”What else? Underground fights first, obviously. Us going over there will definitely be noticed by the local gangs. With my reputation, they’re for sure going to rein in their activities for a while.”

”If they all lie low, what leverage do you think you’ll have against them?”

”You can’t grab them by the tail at all. So when we first get there, we don’t make a move on them. We wait for them to relax a bit first.”

As he talked, Zhang Beixing’s voice gradually softened.

He sounded like he was about to fall asleep.

”After that, we’ll do this first, then that...”

”We’re still a long way from Lijian Country. We’ve got more than ten hours of flight left. Whatever we need to discuss, let’s talk about it after we wake up, alright?”

As he spoke, Zhang Beixing’s voice got smaller and smaller, until he just straight up fell asleep.

Strictly speaking, Zhang Beixing didn’t need much sleep anymore.

Basically a short nap every day was enough. An hour or two?

Even if he didn’t sleep at all, he’d still be fine. With his current physical condition, going seven days and seven nights without sleep wouldn’t be a big deal.

But he still preferred to sleep a bit. Even if he couldn’t sleep, he’d at least lie down and doze.

He didn’t want to really turn into some guy with nothing in common with ordinary people.

He wanted to eat well, drink well, sleep well, and properly enjoy life.

Right now he was the only Transcendent on the board, and there weren’t any monsters left for him to beat up. It was basically ”invincible in this world” mode.

So he was consciously trying to slowly re‑experience his old life.

After more than twenty years, the habits were already there; picking them back up wasn’t that hard.

Seeing that Zhang Beixing was already asleep—no idea if he was really sleeping or just pretending.

Even if he was pretending, Leng Bing didn’t dare wake him.

So he just left Zhang Beixing’s side and went back to his own seat.

He looked out the window, watching the wings of the plane slice through the clouds and climb into the sky.

The worry in his heart eased a little.

He’d thought it through a bit more.

Isn’t that how things are in this world? They don’t change just because of your will.

Since you can’t change it, you have to learn to accept it.

With Minister Zhang Beixing holding down the fort, what was there left for him to worry about?

When they really ran into something they couldn’t handle, would Zhang Beixing not step up for them?

Of course, Zhang Beixing had no idea what was going through Leng Bing’s mind right now. If he did, he’d definitely say, very generously—

”Sorry, I definitely would.”

Time on a plane always passes quickly.

What, it’s just a matter of sleeping through two naps, right?

Zhang Beixing woke up and ate, then after eating he kept on sleeping, basically never giving Leng Bing any chance to talk.

Seeing this, Leng Bing simply gave up.

Forget it. Everyone has their fate, leave it to heaven, life and death are destined.

There’s always a way past the next pass; when the cart reaches the mountain, there’ll be a road.

Once that thought appeared in his heart, Leng Bing felt the anxiety in his chest had already faded quite a bit.

Looking back at the pile of squad members already asleep, Leng Bing couldn’t help but sigh.

In the end, at this point, the most nervous one turned out to be him, the captain. Those newbies in the back weren’t even bothered. Some of them weren’t even Class A Martial Artists yet, while he, a Great Grandmaster, was the one stressing out like this.

This won’t do. This really won’t do.
