Chapter 544: Chapter 201: Revitalizing the Prestige of the Modern Martial Artist_2

Wan Mingde of Primordial Tai Chi asked, ”So, are we just supposed to stand by and watch?”

”It looks like that’s the case for now,” replied Chen Hegao of Unrestricted Fighting. ”We’re too weak. So weak that if we went, we wouldn’t be of any help at all!”

Tian Fenglin of Taizu Long Fist cursed, ”Damn it, this is incredibly frustrating! We’re being walked all over, and all we can do is watch powerlessly. All my years of cultivation might as well have been spent on a dog!”

”Sigh! What can we do?” another lamented. ”In this modern age of firearms, martial artists are worthless, completely useless on the battlefield.”

”Speaking of which, @Ma Yuankai of Primordial Form Intent, I remember you have a disciple who’s active overseas, don’t you? Tell your disciple that when President Zhang arrives, perhaps he can lend a hand or something.”

Ma Yuankai of Primordial Form Intent replied, ”This... it’s very unfortunate... I just contacted my disciple. He said he accepted a job in the Black Continent before the New Year and is still there; he hasn’t returned...”

”Damn it, it’s always the same with you! We can never rely on you for anything!” Wu Yougui of Black Dragon Eighteen Palms exclaimed. ”Now we can only pray that President Zhang is safe and returns without issue!”

”...”

In the chat group, people were discussing fervently, praying that Zhang Beixing would ultimately return safely.

「It was during their conversation.」

「At Bangkok Airport in the Land of the Transgendered.」

BUZZ—

With a long drone, the airplane descended from the high skies, tracing an elegant arc before landing on the runway. It glided along the tarmac before finally coming to a steady stop at the gate.

The jet bridge was connected, and the cabin door opened. First-class passengers, attended by flight attendants, were the first to disembark via the jet bridge, boarding their exclusive shuttle vehicles. The vehicles took them directly into the airport terminal.

Zhang Beixing arrived at the baggage claim. He waited patiently. Before long, a backpack and a one-meter-long bag rolled off the conveyor belt. This was Zhang Beixing’s luggage. Inside were the spear and hidden weapons gifted to him by Huo Honghao, along with some changes of clothes.

Of course, under normal circumstances, such items would definitely not be allowed on a plane. However, Zhang Beixing had used a special channel—connections through the military district. Furthermore, the spear and hidden weapons gifted to him by Huo Honghao were unblunted and had been registered domestically, which allowed them to be transported successfully.

He walked up and picked up his belongings. After a brief inspection to confirm everything was present, accounted for, and undisturbed, Zhang Beixing didn’t linger and headed straight for the airport exit.

「At this moment, outside Bangkok Airport was bustling with activity.」

At the arrival exit, a long line of luxury cars was parked, severely disrupting traffic flow. Many of the country’s wealthy, typically unapproachable, were gathered here, interspersed with some powerful figures. These were people from the Martial Arts Association of the Land of the Transgendered.

Previously, because Zhang Beixing had deliberately not concealed his movements, intending to lure the snake out of its hole, news of his trip had traveled from Great Xia. Upon learning that President Zhang, the head of the Asia Martial Arts Association, was to visit their country, they were overjoyed and rushed to welcome him.

They craned their necks, gazing intently towards the arrival gate with eager anticipation. Their intense stares startled the other travelers, who began to murmur amongst themselves. The tourists watched this crowd of wealthy individuals, speculating who could possibly be arriving to warrant such a grand reception.

Amidst the crowd’s speculation and the eager gazes of the wealthy, Zhang Beixing, carrying his long bag, soon appeared at the arrival gate.

Seeing him, the welcoming party was momentarily stunned. Then, someone recognized him and hurried forward, addressing Zhang Beixing in less-than-fluent language of Great Xia, asking, ”Hello, may I ask, are you Zhang Beixing?”

Zhang Beixing glanced at him. The speaker was a man in his forties, robustly built, with an appearance not dissimilar to Great Xia people, and exuded an air of affluence.

Zhang Beixing frowned slightly. ”Yes, I am Zhang Beixing. And you are?”

”It really is you!” The man’s face lit up with delight. He extended his hand. ”President Zhang, hello! I am Bartram, the president of our country’s Martial Arts Association. Welcome to our Land of the Transgendered!”

Zhang Beixing nodded. ”Hello.” He freed a hand and gave Bartram’s a perfunctory shake; that constituted their greeting.

His reaction was calm, but Bartram didn’t mind. On the contrary, he believed Zhang Beixing’s coolness was perfectly normal. After all, at the age of twenty-one last year, this man had reached the Great Grandmaster Realm—a feat unachieved for seven hundred years—earning unanimous recognition from martial arts masters of various countries and being acclaimed as the President of the Asia Martial Arts Association! Now, at twenty-two, news from Great Xia indicated he had even surpassed the Great Grandmaster level, forging an unprecedented new path. With such achievements at his age, if he wasn’t aloof, who else could be?!

But in reality, they were misunderstanding Zhang Beixing. He was on a rescue mission and simmering with frustration, making it difficult for him to muster any warmth, hence his somewhat somber demeanor.

Bartram’s smile didn’t falter. He looked at Zhang Beixing and continued with a fawning grin, ”President Zhang, upon hearing of your visit, our country’s Martial Arts Association has specially prepared a grand welcome banquet for you. Might you honor us with your presence?”
