Beastmaster of the Ages

The cavalry had become the sharpest of swords. With the Flameyellow Coffin as its centre and led by the five imperial-star elders, it tore apart the enemy’s foremost ranks which were formed by wildbeasts!

Afterward, it followed up with lifebound beast divine abilities and totemic calamity to continue its push into the second zone formed by the Virtue Pantheon!

Although the five pantheons were the aggressors, they were more or less stuck on the spot. Disrupted by the sudden appearance of ten billion flameyellow imperial fiends, and facing the ever-accelerating charge of flameyellow cosmic god cavalry, it was the flameyellow side that looked like the true assailants.

Across the eastern side of the Imperial Star, the burning clouds erupted with all sorts of powers, rippling outward like bursting bubbles!

This single clash starkly revealed, the difference between the flameyellow divinities and the Eightpart Pantheons. With dualgod bloodlines, both man and beast were strong, making flameyellow the race most suited in the entire universe for charging and offense!

The Eightpart Pantheons, by contrast, could only be said to each have their own specialties.

The ashura excelled at beast-wave tactics. The Virtue Pantheon was suited for single combat. The Sin Pantheon was fast, ideal for scouting and assassination. The Starfall and Sundown Pantheons each possessed only about half of flameyellow’s overall capability, making them comparatively mediocre.

Among the three great divine races, the other two, wonderians and devas, had warfare skills that complemented the ashuras. The three united would be a force to be reckoned with.

Alas, today’s vanguard army was formed by only five pantheons. Though they appeared coordinated and enjoyed numerical superiority, reality was a stark contrast.

The impact of the flameyellow cavalry, the terrain advantage of the Flameyellow Guard Formation, and the ten billion flameyellow imperial fiends that could be expended without fear were all decisive factors in this clash.

“The Eightpart Pantheons have gone far too long without facing Flameyellow head-on in evenly matched conditions!” At the very front, Dongfang Taisheng watched the five pantheons continually collapse, his eyes blazing with excitement.

“It was their ancestors who did battle with us. This current generation has never taken us seriously!” Mushan Hong sneered.

The five pantheons were still indulging in their arrogant fantasy of being the universe’s strongest eight races, while the flameyellow had treated them as hypothetical enemies day after day, honing themselves for generations. They had kept the dream alive of one day transforming from descendants of flameyellow criminals into clan heroes who would counterattack the Upper Star Ruin!

It was Li Tianming who gave them an identity, allowing them to become true members of the flameyellow divinities!

The five pantheons only sought to suppress a rebellion, while in the blazing eyes of the flameyellow divinities burned tens of millions of years of rage and resolve. To them, this was the first battle they were truly fighting!

“Don’t get bogged down! Maintain formation!” The majestic voices of the five imperial-star elders, amplified through the Flameyellow Guard Formation, reached every flameyellow clansman’s ears. This was another advantage of fighting within the formation!

With the Flameyellow Guard Formation, it was like standing atop city walls and looking down at the enemy. Without several times their numbers, how could the foe hope to take this imperial capital?

The five imperial-star elders understood the flameyellow divinities, while Wudi understood the formation. With these six working in concert, timing, terrain and men were all to their favour.

“The twenty billion wildbeasts are part of the ashura’s combat power. So really, this battle is actually five billion flameyellow soldiers versus a ten billion enemy vanguard. And we also hold the Flameyellow Guard Formation’s advantage!”

The vanguard army had managed to deploy fast, but Wudi and the entire Imperial Star were already prepared!

“Keep charging! Don’t get bogged down!”

“Charge!”

Wudi and the imperial-star elders were determined not to let the battle devolve into a drawn-out brawl. That would mean abandoning the advantages of the flameyellow dualgod-bloodline advantage and the Flameyellow Guard Formation.

Only their charges could repeatedly smash apart the enemy’s formations and drag them completely into the molten mire of the Flameyellow Guard Formation!

Under their leadership, the radiant greatsword formed by flameyellow heavy cavalry pierced straight through the black great hammer, smashing it apart and splitting the ten-billion-strong vanguard into multiple sections!

The radiant greatsword didn’t stop, continuing its advance while leaving behind flameyellow imperial fiends to entangle the enemy.

“What are they doing? They rammed us once and ran?”

Many of the five pantheons, who had expected an immediate drawn-out battle, were thrown off. To be honest, although they had been scattered, that single clash had not caused excessive casualties. Given time, they could regroup, and start their push downwards again.

In offense, the Eightpart Pantheons fused their into a behemoth-like advancing formation. Though today they lacked the sharpest spearheads of the wonderians and devas, they still had great confidence in their ability to advance as a unified mass.

Their eight races were indeed complementary.

Unfortunately, today they encountered flameyellow heavy cavalry empowered by the astralguard formation! They were faster, more agile, and far more penetrating!

In open space, a head-on charge like this might not favor the Flameyellow. But this was the burning-cloud domain, and the hammer had already been “rotted” from within by the flameyellow imperial fiends, unable to protect either front or rear!

After that charge, had the fifty billion flameyellow heavy cavalry truly withdrawn?

Under the dumbfounded gazes of the five pantheons, the blinding radiant greatsword above suddenly turned around, and accelerated once more toward the “rear” of the great hammer!

This rear was precisely where the ashura stood!

“Adjust positions! Virtue Pantheon, fall back!”

Chaotic orders rang out within the five pantheons’ army. But an alliance was just an alliance. No one would desperately hold the front line for another race and die for the ashuras. Even the Sin Pantheon, their closest ally, chose to protect itself first when faced with real danger!

“The Eightpart Pantheons’ alliance is strong, but in the end, they are not one race. They harbor their own agendas and are forcibly bound together by the Heavenly Dao. This is their greatest weakness!”

Duels were duels. War was war!

In war, coordination, strict command, and deployment were just as important as raw strength.

“The Eightpart Pantheons are terrifying when the wind is at their backs. But once things aren’t in their favour, they’ll implode from within!” Wudi’s eyes were icy. The eight clans had ruled the universe for countless years, with everything allocated by the Heavenly Dao. How could they possibly lack internal conflict?

This was what Tianming was leveraging, and also the flaw Wudi was exploiting in this defensive battle.

“Hear my command: ignore the rest and target the ashuras!”

Amid Wudi’s thunderous command, the flameyellow cavalry accelerated to the extreme, and dove straight for the hammer’s fatal point!

“When you strike a foe, go for the ass first. Ying Huo learned that at a young age already!”
