Beastmaster of the Ages

”Eighth Brother!” someone in the spectator zone shrieked. Yueling Zhao slumped to the ground as if her soul had left her body. Tears of blood streamed down her grief-twisted face.

She had witnessed Lingfeng killing Yueling Dui with a single bonk, and if that wasn’t enough, his corpse had been liquefied and devoured by the stick! Nobody had seen anyone die like this since they became cosmic gods! It was far too cruel of a sight.

The fact that the son of an imperator of Yueling Starcage died like this sent waves of shock throughout. The spectators once called Tianming and Lingfeng cowards for evading them for months on end, yet when the fight finally began, the scion of an imperator ended up dead in a single exchange, completely blowing their minds. Cries of rage and pain rang out around the Ruinless Zone. There was nothing they could do but pray that the billion-plus troops and the hundred primocosmic gods within would be able to make Tianming and Lingfeng pay the price.

”Mom...” Yueling Zhao turned back to look at Imperator Ji, her tears not ceasing. She had been worried that her mother would be crushed like her, yet all she saw on her face was an expression of calm that lacked any hint of emotion. All Imperator Ji did was glare at Tianming and Lingfeng.

Mother truly is strong. She stayed calm to protect Yueling Starcage’s dignity even after Eighth Brother died... Had she broken down in public fashion for a bet that she had accepted without being able to personally avenge her son, it would’ve been disastrously humiliating.

Crying is pointless and it’ll only make others look down on me! We still have a huge edge, so there’s no need for us to engage these two one-on-one. We can crush them with sheer numbers! Yueling Zhao toughened up once more at the thought.

Yueling Xiao looked at her eldest daughter as the rage in him simmered. ”Are you not hurting?”

”Is there a point to that?” Yueling Ji asked, tone flat.

”None indeed.” Yueling Xiao grit his teeth before sighing. He approached the Ruinless Zone and yelled at the participants, ”Don’t fight them one-on-one! Just swarm them!”

Even without the explicit order, the tens of millions of cosmic gods around Lingfeng were ready to lose themselves and charge after witnessing the death of their eighth prince. Rage hung over the Ruinless Zone, within and without.

”Die!” The tens of millions of troops closed in on the two of them, drowning out the whole area with chaotic power and blinding starlight. The energy concentration in that area was so high that they could barely see their enemies!

Though Tianming and Lingfeng were faced with an impressive force, they remained completely calm. Tianming didn’t strike right away and wanted to observe what else about Lingfeng had changed. The Evil Suppression Pillar that oozed a black smog still seemed to have many secrets to reveal.

Eventually, he noticed a purple glow and some smoke wafted around Lingfeng’s body before entering it. Concerned, he asked, ”Is Di Yi going to take over again?”

”No. I’m just borrowing a trick of his,” Lingfeng said.

”Is that even possible?”

The iris in Lingfeng’s crimson right eye turned purple gradually. Unlike normal irises, it had tiny concentric circles and lots of eccentric symbols that wriggled and swam around like tiny tadpoles, generating an odd power.

”Go.” All of a sudden, the purple eye emitted a similarly colored smog that spread out almost instantly, rivaling Tianming’s Xi Hwa Ghoul Army in scale, rushing to envelop the tens of millions of heavencosmic gods.

The boundless purple mist seemed to drown out any and all sensation from the heavencosmic gods. Thinking that it was pointless against a whole army, they continued to charge, pretending like the mist didn’t exist at all. The next instant, however, the first group of people to be swallowed by the mist felt a horrible itch at certain parts of their bodies.

They looked down and were shocked to find a bloody tear open up at the spots of the itch, which opened up to reveal large purple eyes that stared back at them!

”Aaaaaagh!” The nonsensical sight caused all the troops to howl in fear and confusion. When the ones at the front stopped charging, the rest crashed into them from behind, disrupting their ranks heavily, causing them to unwittingly wound their comrades with their cosmic relics. The purple eyes began to spread throughout the ranks to the soldiers behind, shocking them into not knowing what to do.

”Just dig them out and we’ll be fine!” Some people tried to plunge their cosmic relics into the eyes, only for them to run off and stay on their backs, knees, back of their heads, or even their seventh astral organs. If they missed, they would be stabbing themselves!

Some people chose to explode a part of their bodies, only to realize that they didn’t manage to excise the eyes from their bodies! The only way to get rid of them was to blow up their whole bodies. The army found itself in a really odd predicament.

”Forget it, just ignore them! They’re no threat and won’t stop us from fighting.” They forced themselves to look past the purple eyes and turned to the source instead. Their fighting spirits rose once more. ”Once we kill him, the eyes will vanish!”

”No threat, you say?” Lingfeng once suffered horribly from xenofiend eyes himself.

As the cosmic gods charged towards them, the xenofiend eyes began to run around their bodies, disrupting the circulation of their cosmoforce nonstop! There was no way for them to focus on fighting when these parasites were in their bodies. They were so distracted by the cries and moans of their own comrades that they even lost track of Lingfeng.

”He’s slaughtering his way to us!” someone in the crowd cried before his voice was abruptly cut off. The rest watched as a stormy black figure waving his long staff around, pummeling them nonstop.
