Beastmaster of the Ages

Two weeks later, citizens of Grand Jiang gathered in the streets with bated breath. Tens of millions of cosmic god warriors had arrived at the astralguard formation, their blazing eyes fixed on one spot in the sky.

”All units, prepare to receive Lord Yue and the reinforcements from Grand Yue!” The resounding voice echoed across the entire star, drawing cheers from its people.

”Welcome Lord Yue!”

This grand occasion was the first for Grand Jiang. It was rare for any other star to surpass the main lineage in all aspects so the position of alliance leader had been held by Grand Jiang for most of history.

This spectacle was undeniable proof that Lord Yue’s prestige had won the hearts of the people in this pivotal moment. His strength and composure now served as the kunlan primalwainger’s bedrock. Many cosmic gods of the main lineage were excited by his rising prominence.

As one rose, the other faded into obscurity. But with the war looming, no one seemed to care about this. They were all joyful.

Only a month ago, news of the Tian Jiu Cult’s full-scale deployment had Grand Jiang terrified and despondent, but things were completely different now. The eyes of citizens across Grand Jiang shone with renewed hope, reflecting their confidence in winning the war and protecting their homeland.

Amid the enthusiastic gazes of millions, a radiant glow emerged in the distance, heralding the arrival of white astralships that brought countless cosmic god warriors to Grand Jiang. It wouldn’t take much time for these astralships to arrive, and soon they appeared outside the astralguard formation.

”Open the formation to welcome Lord Yue!” The people cried.

A passage parted the formation, allowing the astralships from Grand Yue to enter as the cosmic god warriors lined up to welcome them. In a flash, these astralship appeared above Jiang Universe City, their brilliance overshadowing the city’s gentle luster.

”Lord Yue is coming!”

Despite being an outsider, Grand Jiang’s disappointment in their starlord had fueled the growing support for Lord Yue.

”Look at them, then look at us...”

These were the words most commonly used to bring about the downfall of a clan or race. To tear down a collective, one must first destroy its self-esteem and bring it to its knees, until the women completely toss aside their dignity and the men grovel at the feet of others.

It was clear Lord Yue’s arrival stirred up waves across Grand Jiang. Within a mere two weeks, the situation had shifted so dramatically that many of the main lineage forgot that they were the masters.

With all eyes on him, Lord Yue, a cosmic god nearing ten thousand meters in height, descended. In that climactic moment, thunderous cheers reverberated through the star.

”Lord Yue is without equal!”

A radiant smile illuminated Lord Yue’s flawless countenance as he declared in a resounding voice, ”I stand with Grand Jiang!”

The cosmic god army gathered around him, with the Pu clan at the forefront.

”Granny Pu.” Lord Yue looked at the old woman with utmost respect. ”Your courage and strength of character is unmatched. With you watching over Grand Jiang, the kunlan primalwingers have nothing to fear from the Tian Jiu Cult!”

”You flatter me, Lord Yue! Your ability is second to none. You’re the one who’s given us hope! As long as you’re here, we’ll make it through!” Granny Pu replied in kind.

The majestic Lord Yue smiled and swept his gaze across the sea of people. ”Thank you for your trust in me. I will lead our armies in battle, decimate the enemy, and protect all kunlan primalwingers. We will not yield an inch of this land!”

”We will not yield an inch of this land!” Their powerful cheers shook the heavens.

At the edge of Jiang Universe City, a group of cosmic gods looked on as the events unfolded. Tianming was there as well. Glancing at Jiang Tianzhou, he said, ”They’re all singing the same tune. You’ve lost control of Grand Jiang’s cosmic god army.”

”Heh...” Jiang Tianzhou chuckled coldly, but failed to conceal the helplessness in his eyes.

”Do you feel disappointed by them even though they’ve done nothing wrong?” asked Lin Shenjian of Grand Lin. Although he was good friends with Jiang Tianzhou, he had remained silent during the meeting in the Jiang Royal Palace because he knew his words had no effect.

”It’s disappointing, but it’s too soon to tell if they’ve made the right decision.” Tianming pointed at Granny Pu. ”That old woman gave control of their cosmic god army to an outsider. That’s a punishable offense, at the very least.”

Tianming understood that the title “alliance leader” was essentially a status symbol. He had little authority over the other starlords and was in no position to exploit the chaos to seize control. The different factions within the alliance were governed by their own leaders. However, Lord Yue acted as the head of all six factions, elevating his role beyond its formal scope, yet few considered it a problem due to the threat of the Tian Jiu Cult.

”Lord Yue is risking his troops in hopes of usurping authority over the six factions and becoming supreme ruler,” Lin Shenjian said solemnly.

“He’s despicable. I hope he’ll act prudently, not leverage the lives of the common people for control of the astralguard formation,” said Chen Qing of Grand Chen.

“Let’s head over.” Wasting no words, Jiang Tianzhou led the group over to welcome Lord Yue.

Jiang Tianzhou and Lord Yue met under the countless watchful eyes. Although they were both equally matched, there was a still marked difference between the two men as Jiang Tianzhou had been labelled a fool for defending the ancient ancestor.

As their eyes met, the men exchanged a smile. Lord Yue glanced past Jiang Tianzhou and focused on Tianming instead. “Is this the flameyellow voidkin responsible for that incredible feat in the Ten Desolate Starforges? asked Lord Yue.

“Greetings, Lord Yue,” said Tianming.

Lord Yue’s smile suddenly faded. “I must remind you that the Primordial Sands belongs to the kunlan primalwingers and has nothing to do with Flameyellow.” He warned Tianming in front of everyone watching.

“I understand.” Tianming nodded before adding, “Are you prepared to protect the ancient ancestor and fight the Tian Jiu Cult to the finish? With the people united, and a man of your caliber on their side, you wouldn’t abandon your ancient ancestor and cower like a dog, would you? How can you watch outsiders desecrate your ancestor while you still breathe?”
