Beastmaster of the Ages

“Then why did the Grand Xia imperials not enjoy the fruits of rebellion in the end, but instead destroyed their homeland? Why did their imperial-class world turn into an astral hole?” Tianming frowned.

“Who knows? Maybe those ingrates bit them too? Now, the supreme hegemons are the wonderians. They were the greatest beneficiaries of that war. Perhaps only they know what happened to the Grand Xia imperials.” Muguang Lie sneered coldly.

“Understood.” Tianming nodded deeply. He pondered for a moment, then asked again, “Then what about the Grand Xia imperials now? Have you ever had contact with them?”

“Heh.” Muguang Lie simply snorted.

“Please tell me.”

Muguang Lie shook his head. “Let me be blunt, they’re a bunch of arrogant pricks still obsessed with their past glories, proclaiming themselves to be the creators of wonders and the ancestors of the wonderians. But this arrogance can’t cover up their terror towards the continuous annihilation of their world. Not a single Grand Xia imperial entered the Ancestral World this time as they wouldn’t challenge the Eightpart Pantheons. On the contrary, I hear that the wonderians have infiltrated deep into their midst, and some even worship Tian Jiu, forming an organization called the Tian Jiu Cult which often stirs up trouble inside the Primordial Sands. The people of the Primordial Sands are absolutely ticked off by the Grand Xia, and they’re wary of the Grand Xia imperials as even diminished, the Grand Xia imperials are still number one in the Primordial Sands.”

“I see.” If so, it was understandable why the Grand Xia imperials went to cause trouble for Jiang Feiling.

Tianming suddenly remembered he still had a book he hadn’t read!

He went to find a quiet place, and rummaged for a long time inside the spatial ring to take out a book, Tales of the Trashy Divine Wonderians. The title alone displayed Old Man Voidback’s immense resentment.

Tianming had just elevated the grand lexicon wonder to the maniverse class, allowing him to open it. He used the wonder as the key. One by one, words flashed, automatically condensing into a white-haired old man on the book. His first words were direct. “I have so much hate!”

Tianming knew he had already passed away, so these were just words left behind. He quietly listened.

Next, Old Man Voidback told a story with a protagonist named Tian Jiu.

At first, she was just a very ordinary girl raised by Old Man Voidback. He described Tian Jiu as a very kind and sensible young lady. Many elders of the Grand Xia also favoured her.

Because of that, she received much, and grew quickly.

“Her growth carried a terrifying secret. In front of others, she was kind and delicate, but no one knew that inside, she was a devil that devoured everything. She ate one after another of her benefactors. She was born for betrayal, and in the end, she killed all who raised her, including me... She gained everything, except for the foundation of the Grand Xia civilization, the grand lexicon wonder that I passed on to you.”

Then, he went on to denounce Tian Jiu’s countless crimes, including inciting people’s hearts, opposing the flameyellow divinities, and enslaving the will of the Grand Xia. At that time, she was still considered a member of the Grand Xia imperials. She ignited a wave of rebellion, while secretly dividing her body, personally creating one wonderian after another.

“She was the root cause of an apocalyptic war in the Upper Star Ruin! She was skilled at disguising herself, and skilled at controlling human nature! She was never a match for the flameyellows, yet she exploited their mercy and sibling bond with the Grand Xia to seize the Heavenly Dao, launch a fatal blow, and crumble their foundation. She was the true original sin...”

Although Tianming had never witnessed it personally, he could feel the sorrow of that time from Old Man Voidback’s words.

“I hate it! It was my kindness that destroyed the whole world, killed trillions of beings, felled the Flameyellow and the Grand Xia, and ruined the eternal bond of brotherhood between the two races. I can’t fix it even if I slew Tian Jiu, but what makes me die with regrets is that all signs indicate that after Tian Jiu divided into the wonderians, she will never die!”

“One day, she will be reborn in some new form. She will not appear as the typical wonderian, but instead look more like a Grand Xia imperial. But she will certainly appear with a gentle and weak disguise while devouring everything. Only when she is strong enough would she bare her fangs and destroy everyone who treated her well...”

At this point, Old Man Voidback, filled with grief, wept with tears streaming.

Tianming, meanwhile, fell into silence, memories of Weisheng Moran flashing endlessly through his mind.

“Remember! Remember! She will definitely have a beautiful disguise. She may even be right beside you, making you reluctant to kill her. She might not even awaken her consciousness beforehand, completely appearing as a perfect woman...”

These words had already made Tianming unsure of who he could trust.

“But she has a weakness!” Old Man Voidback’s eyes suddenly burned with fire as he said.

“What weakness?” Tianming asked instinctively.

“Before she awakens, kill her completely, not leaving even a single middlekin astron. Only then would she truly be dead! Then, eradicate the wonderians, leaving none! Only thus would the world be free of calamity.” Old Man Voidback spoke viciously.

Tianming fell silent.

“Never, ever forget to keep your grand lexicon wonder safe! If she steals it, no one would be able to stop her!” Old Man Voidback looked deeply at Tianming. “I don’t know who you are, nor do I know if she is right beside you. If she really is, then take this as an old man’s final plea. Think with your head up there, not the one below!”

Tianming didn’t know what to say.

At last, Old Man Voidback fell silent. He let out a deep sigh, and finally began to dissipate.

The Tales of the Trashy Divine Wonderians also turned into flying ash that scattered.

He remembered Old Man Voidback’s final gaze, and the helplessness and pain contained within. Perhaps to him, he was the true cause of it all.

“Countless eras of brotherly understanding lost in a single moment. What a pity, the Flameyellow will not even have the chance to resent us...” Those were Old Man Voidback’s last words as he faded away.

Tianming understood what he meant. After the Flameyellow’s defeat, their descendants had no right to know history. So, they didn’t even know that all this destruction originated from the Grand Xia.

And the ancestors’ wills within the cosmic god blood had never blamed the Grand Xia even to the end.

What could be said?

Tianming pondered for a moment, then walked to Muguang Lie. “Senior, please turn back, I need to bring someone along.”
