Beastmaster of the Ages

The battle in the hidden cave seemed rather chaotic. Within that sealed space, destruction on a near-universal scale could be seen. If the Ninelives Cave hadn’t been tough enough, it would’ve collapsed long ago and been reduced to ashes.

The cries of man and beast blended together to form a dissonant symphony. Countless beams of starlight shot all over the place, covering Tianming in all sorts of colors. It was so messy that it was hard to tell which side had the edge. Though the devas had to put up an act of being forced to fight, they got more and more savage as the battle progressed, when they remembered how they had been humiliated not too long ago.

”Let’s just wait.” Jiang Lincheng and the others knew how to stay safe. Their group was the one that was least tired out and in the best condition out of all of them. To prevent accidents, Tianming made sure to drill it into Zhan Xiao about the princess’s condition lest any of them had second thoughts about destroying the Eightpart Pantheons’ unity midway through the fight.

The ashuras had nowhere to hide within the tiny hidden cave, and the devas, having struggled against the ashuras for so long, knew exactly how to hunt them down: go after the beastmaster, and the beasts would be reduced to a disorganized mob!

”Trying to flee, huh?”

”Where’s all that consideration for the good of the Eightpart Pantheons when you were going all out on us during the previous fight, huh?”

”We’re only trying to fight against you ashuras and the Sin Pantheon specifically! This has nothing to do with the Eightpart Pantheons!”

As time passed, the furious curses of the ashuras waned as the number of their cosmic god essences increased. The sin primalwingers who numbered far fewer also suffered huge losses thanks to their counterparts from the Primordial Sands!

”Those two must be chickening out and planning their escape.” As Tianming expected, a purple-armored youth took a cosmic goddess with him and tried to bust out of the hidden cave. It was the Skyfiendling and he had taken Yushen Hua of the Sin Pantheon with him. No doubt, Yushen An had no choice but to entrust his sister’s safety to him.

”Zhan Xiao, as the ringleader, you’ve committed a grave sin! The Ten Desolate Starforges will no doubt render severe judgment on you!” the Skyfiendling spat with rage, his face flushed red. The rage he felt was exactly identical to that felt by Zhan Xiao when he had been forced to flee.

”Stop pinning the blame! Everyone can see why this all happened. You were the one who broke the rules first, which resulted in our princess being captured! We are not to blame!” Zhan Xiao said the canned line to make sure that the seniors would be able to hear it. He attempted to chase the Skyfiendling down but was held back by the tens of warbeasts that suddenly intercepted him.

”Wait and see!” After giving his final line, the Skyfiendling escaped the hidden cave into a cavern pathway.

”Skyfiendling, what about my brother?” Yushen Hua nervously asked.

”Don’t worry! I’ll get reinforcements. I think your brother will be able to hold on,” he said as he checked the ninelives fruits in his spatial ring and looked behind him coldly. ”That formation protecting the ninelives fruits won’t be easy to deal with. Even if these folks from the Primordial Sands have the upper hand now, they’ll die once our reinforcements arrive!”

”Those xenoraces are far too ignorant and greedy. How dare they try to take what’s ours? They’ll die trying,” Yushen Hua said.

The Skyfiendling could only let his reinforcements know his location by using one transmission stone after another. This was something he didn’t have the luxury to do during the chaotic melee from before. Even though he had managed to escape the battle, most of his warbeasts were still back there protecting his fellow allies. An infinite beastmaster like him leaving the combat zone wasn’t a huge deal for the group’s combat capabilities. Otherwise, Yushen An wouldn’t have dared to hold the ground alone. In fact, letting the Skyfiendling leave was their only hope of winning. The sin primalwingers and ashuras were prepared to bunker down and form a final line of defense with the warbeasts, giving Zhan Xiao and Jiang Lincheng quite a huge problem to deal with.

”This is bad! There’s nobody nearby. I got the ones who are closest to us to come. We have to keep searching,” the Skyfiendling said. His gambles had ended up turning the devas against him. Now, things were going far out of hand.

The most crucial part was that the seniors were watching from outside during the hundred-thousand-year celebration of the Cobalt Overfiend! His humiliating performance would be on full display. Had he known this would come to pass, he would’ve been more cordial toward the devas. Right as he wallowed in frustration, a purple mist enveloped him. An astral giant that hadn’t fully turned into a cosmic god suddenly appeared from within!

”Danger!” Yushen Hua immediately recognized Tianming and backed away. Tianming’s quasi-cosmic-god form was much larger than before, but the fact that he hadn’t fully transformed yet made it even more eerie.

”It’s you! Where’s You You?” The Skyfiendling looked behind Tianming, gaze frostier than the coldest of hells.

”What’s it to you?” Tianming’s big fish had finally come. He charged straight toward him without another word.

”Do you think I’m a pushover?!” The Skyfiendling grimaced. He was ranked eighteenth on the Ten Desolate Cosmic Genii Ranking among those under five hundred years old! He had 66-eye talent with both hands combined! Even though sixty of his warbeasts were fighting at the hidden cave, he wasn’t worried about going up against a quasi cosmic god with his actual body.

Three of the compound eyes in each hand still glowed, each one representing a space where a warbeast resided. With a wave of both hands, six maniverse-class cosmic godbeasts came forth. Those were his final trump cards and there were two types of beast. The ones on his left were pitch black and covered in burning, crimson fur. These skyfiend kunwu were huge, domineering, and feline shaped like Meow Meow with sharp claws and fangs to boast of. The three on the right were purple wyrm-like creatures, each more than eight hundred meters long with spikes growing out of their backs. Each spike was tipped with a sharp starlike material. The violet seafiends looked like they had whole galaxies on their backs.

Even though there were just six warbeasts, their might was not to be underestimated. Tianming and the Skyfiendling were seven levels apart, not to mention those levels crossed from astral godhood to cosmic godhood! However, the Skyfiendling only had an eleventh of his whole arsenal. He had summoned some of his other beasts to him, so Tianming’s time was running out.

”Do you think that mere warbeasts can stop me?” Tianming smirked as lightning burst all over his body. Rapidly, he zipped through the beasts and straight in front of the Skyfiendling! ”You ashuras are nothing but pieces of trash in a fight against me!”

Tianming excelled at single and group combat, so he could easily take the enemy leader in a group fight or gang up on someone in a duel with his beasts separately! With four beasts fused with his body, he was even more agile than Zhan Xiao.

”A lowly subrace like you really needs to be taught a lesson! You’ll never learn your wrongs until you’re at death’s door.” The Skyfiendling smiled confidently. He suddenly took three steps back and pointed the fiendeyes in both hands that pulsed with cosmoforce toward Tianming.

”Ocular arts? Ashuras, huh?”
