Beastmaster of the Ages

Suishen Jiguang held her face; someone as graceful and esteemed as her ended up completely swallowed up by embarrassment. Merely the thought of someone watching her during those ten years caused her entire body to burn up, let alone her face. Her whole being blushed.

Seeing her like that, Suishen Xiyue couldn’t stop herself from laughing. ”Sister, what’s going on? You’re not an innocent young maiden anymore. Why are you still so wishy-washy about such matters? As a grown woman, you should carry yourself with grace and not let such matters bother you. There’s no prouder pursuit in life than love.”

”Okay....” Though she said that, when she looked up and saw Suishen Xiyue’s teasing gaze and thought back at how she had seen her put on Tianming’s mask in a panic, she lost the will to live.

”You’re so shy about it now, but I don’t recall that being the case back then—”

”Please... don’t say anything else...” Suishen Jiguang had always been prim and proper. While she’d lost control due to the astral giant’s influence, she was at least more conscious than Tianming had been.

”Alright, I’ll stop, I’ll stop.” Suishen Xiyue gave her a light hug with a pained look. ”I was just... feeling a little bad for you.”

”What for?”

”For what you had to go through. Even though you knew who it was, you were still unable to get over it after waiting for him to return. You even had to pretend that you didn’t know anything. I saw how the two of you kept building walls around each other and feigning ignorance and it drove me nuts!”

The only one who still didn’t know was Tianming. He was still keeping it secret and believed that nobody knew about the facts of the matter.

”I’ll be honest. I can tell that his relationship with Yaoyao isn’t nearly as deep as his with you. That brat will only keep getting stronger and stronger. If it hadn’t been for you bridging that gap, he’d eventually have completely forgotten that he also took Yaoyao’s Suishen Blood and gotten off scot free. I’m telling you this because I want you to help Yaoyao out.”

Suishen Xiyue sounded rather serious. ”The stronger an astral god is, the harder it is for them to create offspring. Not to mention, the child has both totems and lifebound beasts. I have no idea what kind of race he is. It’ll be incredibly hard for him to find a mate that he can reproduce with. Perhaps he won’t be able to procreate at all even after trying for a few hundred years.”

”Sister, it’s such a shame you weren’t born a man,” Suishen Jiguang said, almost speechless.

”Well, of course. I dream of how glorious it’d be were I born a man! Alas, the heavens didn’t agree and wanted me to be a wife and mother instead,” Suishen Xiyue sighed.

Suishen Jiguang nodded. Before their reunion, she hadn’t been able to tell that her sister had such a mischievous teasing side to her.

”Fine!” She felt like the teasing had helped her sort out many of her emotions and suddenly felt much more light hearted than before. However, the deathly embarrassment still lingered in her mind. Looking up with her eyes wide and hopeful, she asked, ”Sister, were you... watching us the whole ten years?”

”Nope.” Suishen Xiyue feigned a pause. ”What else could I have done? Drag you apart from one another?!”

There was no talking her way out of it!

”Alright, alright.” Suishen Xiyue gave her a serious look. ”Just be honest with him and don’t drag it out. That kid bears heavy burdens. If the two of you don’t tell each other, a man like him will easily forget. He’ll find new temptations along the way. What would you do if he doesn’t take responsibility for you? You gave him everything, and now you must make him earn it!”

”You’re right, keeping it secret isn’t a solution.” She indeed felt rather odd playing along with Tianming’s feigned ignorance, even though both of them knew the truth already.

”Let’s say it’s for the sake of Myriadpath Valley. You two have to hurry out. You’re already at the major zenith, but the astral giant in the Yin-Yang World might be able to help accelerate your growth. It seems different from our Source Progenitor, after all,” Suishen Xiyue said, chuckling.

”I know....” Suishen Jiguang nodded like a timid little chick.

Suishen Xiyue breathed a sigh of relief. ”To think that you’d need me to solve the problems in your love life for you.... Seriously.... Though, it’s only expected for me. Leave it to Big Sister to get you to open up with that certain someone that you just couldn’t let go of!”

Suishen Jiguang didn’t know what else to say.

”Just go to him!” Suishen Xiyue said, giving her an encouraging shoulder pat.

”Okay....” After some internal struggle, Suishen Jiguang nodded, her face still warm. Her heart began beating faster.

Right as they finished speaking, Tianming was awkwardly smiling and scratching his head as he hesitantly approached.

”What is it?” Suishen Xiyue asked, raising an eyebrow.

”Umm... I... Auntie... Jiguang.... Hmmmm....” Tianming wrung his hands and nervously squirmed his toes.

”Is there something you want to say to me?” Suishen Jiguang gently asked.

”N-no... Wait, actually... there is....”

”Come with me.”
