Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3371 - She Can’t Escape

When Tianming returned from the Xenoabyss, he was surprised to find Eminent Jiguang waiting for him. “Auntie? Why didn’t you leave?” He had taken a few days and hadn’t expected her to still be there.

Seeing that he had safely returned, Eminent Jiguang’s expression relaxed. She smiled and said, ”I decided to wait for a few days. I always felt like House Yumo would gradually recover from the incident of the eminents’ deaths and target you again.”

Her attentiveness and concern deeply moved Tianming. ”Let’s go back!” He followed Eminent Jiguang back to Suishen Cave. Just as they arrived, Suishen Yao appeared. She seemed a bit surprised to see Tianming and Eminent Jiguang together and had a somewhat strange expression.

“Yaoyao, I’ll go back and prepare first. I’ll head to the Yin-Yang World in a few days. You should come with me to the Jiguang Sea, I have many things to explain to you before we depart,” said Eminent Jiguang.

“Got it.”

A few days passed in the blink of an eye. Outside Jiguang Sea, Tianming and Suishen Yao bade farewell to Eminent Jiguang, who was accompanied by several eminents and reverends from House Suishen.

Tianming noticed that Suishen Yuan was also among them.

“His combat strength should be at the bottom, right?” Tianming asked Suishen Zhao, who was beside him.

“At the bottom, yes, but he still has to try his luck. After turning five hundred years old, he can obtain very little springwater. He still has to endure for a few more centuries. If he doesn’t go and others gain something while he doesn’t, won’t he be left behind?” Suishen Yao replied. After saying that, she added, ”When I become a fourth-level foundationeer, I also want to go to the Yin-Yang World.”

“I heard from Auntie that your mother might still be alive?” Tianming asked. It was clear that Suishen Yao longed for the day she could go to the Yin-Yang World. Her motivation wasn’t baleflame, but her mother, which was actually the greatest driving force in her cultivation.

“Mm.” Suishen Yao nodded. She gazed at Eminent Jiguang in the distance and murmured, “Auntie’s broken through to the minor zenith. Hopefully, there’ll be good news....” She knew better than Tianming how difficult it would be. It was an almost impossible task, but she still had to hold on to hope.

“When I have the strength of a reverend, I’ll go there and look for her, too,” Tianming suddenly said.

“You?” Suishen Yao chuckled. “You’d better hurry up and reach the Foundation stage. People outside are already saying that your talent’s peaked and you might stay at this level for the rest of your life.”

“That’s just petty jealousy,” Tianming laughed.

“Hmph!”

“By the way, I plan to continue my seclusion in the Grand Myriadpath Ruins to fully push for the Foundation stage. I might even shut off my transmission stone,” Tianming said.

“Got it. Don’t worry, who’d bother contacting you anyway?” Suishen Yao stretched and yawned, looking sleepy.

“Aren’t you worried people might say you have no charm since your newly wedded husband’s always in seclusion?” Tianming teased.

“Get lost, you scoundrel!” Suishen Yao grit her teeth after being teased.

As they joked around, Tianming suddenly felt a chilling gaze.

He looked in that direction and saw two tall, burly men standing in a distant corridor. One was a young man with a heavy aura like the vast earth, Suishen Yue. Beside him stood a middle-aged man with neatly-combed hair, a long beard, and a yellow-and-white robe. His sharp eyebrows and bright eyes gave him a gentle demeanor, somewhat resembling a more profound version of Suishen Yue.

At that moment, the man was smiling at Tianming while talking to Suishen Yue.

“Who’s that?” Tianming asked Suishen Yao while smiling in their direction.

Seeing the man, Suishen Yao looked slightly displeased. “That’s Suishen Yue’s father, my uncle.”

Tianming realized it was Suishen Hongtian, the older brother of Ranxing and Jiguang. He had an extraordinary presence indeed. He wasn’t as domineering as Eminent Ranxing, but his restrained, weighty presence indicated that he was a man with very deep thoughts. He was definitely a dangerous figure.

Suishen Hongtian was conversing with Suishen Yue. Tianming was curious about what they were discussing, but the entire Suishen Cave was covered in formations, severely limiting Yin Chen’s movements. He didn’t dare to rashly let it approach them, so he had to give up.

“They’re probably going to the Yin-Yang World, too,” Suishen Yao whispered.

“Are they?”

“Eminents generally go to the Inner Yin, while reverends stay in the Outer Yin. Suishen Yue is an eighth-level foundationeer and has combat power comparable to an ordinary ninth-level foundationeer. As long as he doesn’t encounter a tenth-level foundationeer eminent, he can basically walk around unchallenged. Baleflame and other treasures that might exist in the Yin-Yang World are key to him officially becoming a titled eminent.” After Suishen Yao had thwarted Suishen Yue’s advances, her dislike for him had grown stronger. The aversion stemmed from her intuition and the way Suishen Yue always masked his true nature in front of her, saying things that made her uncomfortable.

She could sense that he was suppressing his malice around her.

“He recently obtained the Kunlun Watcher, a cosmic artifact from the Yin-Yang World. It’s said to be helpful in finding treasures in the Yin-Yang World, since it belongs to the same system,” Suishen Yao said.

“Oh, then shall we wish him to return empty-handed?” Tianming joked.

Suishen Yao glanced at him, then laughed, playfully pushing his shoulder. “Great minds think alike!”

Indeed, compared to Eminent Jiguang, Suishen Yao’s wildness, coquettishness, liveliness, and innocence had a different kind of charm.

Suishen Hongtian smiled as he looked at the distant Tianming and Suishen Yao, the ‘little lovebirds’. However, he said to Suishen Yue, “My sister’s advancement to minor zenith has disrupted my plans.”

“Father! Can you take down a minor zenith cultivator?” Suishen Yue asked, his eyes deep, his fists clenched, and a hint of nervousness in his tone.

“What do you think?” Suishen Hongtian glared at him and said, “I’m nearly three thousand years older than her! When I reached the major zenith, she’d only just been born!”

“That’s good. In the Inner Yin, where transmission stones are useless and storms rage everywhere, no one can call for help. It’s the perfect place to act. Once she enters the Inner Yin and you find her, she won’t be able to escape,” Suishen Yue’s voice was hoarse, trembling as he spoke. After speaking, he looked up, his eyes bloodshot with a hint of madness hidden within.
