Beastmaster of the Ages

After killing Eminent Baigui, Tianming returned to the Hellfiend. The mobile stareye had dimmed and was floating in the void of space like metallic debris. The Yumo Blood Crucible also didn’t seem to be doing anything.

He found the three remaining people there who were under Yin Chen’s control. Yin Chen, having been infused with omnisentient power, had had no trouble at all restraining the three who had completely lost their spirits.

When the radiant Tianming appeared before Yumo Xue, Yumo Yuanni, and Yumo Lingyue, their tears flowed and legs shook as they huddled together like pitiful strays.

”Your eminents are all dead. Did you see all that?” Tianming said, his lips curving into a smile.

”We... we did,” Yumo Xue said, hyperventilating. He couldn’t even properly speak. All he could do was kneel before the ’tainted beast’ that he had looked down on and beg for mercy. However, his throat shook so hard that no words came out. His mind was completely blank.

”Don’t be in such a rush. I still have something to show you. You’ll suffer even worse deaths, haha.”

Tianming’s words caused them to despair. Yumo Lingyue was so terrified that she foamed at the mouth and collapsed into Yumo Xue’s arms, twitching.

”You... you....” Yumo Xue watched as Tianming disappeared. Then, he found Tianming’s glowing form near the Hellfiend.

With his flesh-and-blood body, Tianming pushed the Hellfiend forward! He seemed like nothing but a speck of dust compared to the divine astralship, yet he was able to push it away from Greensource and farther into space! The Hellfiend shrank more and more from Yumo Xue’s vantage point.

”He... he’s going to destroy the Hellfiend....” Yumo Xue shook with utter despair. He wanted to run away, but the threads of Yin Chen kept him bound. Even without them, where could they run off to in the void of space? The only way for them to return to Myriadpath Valley was the mobile stareye, the Hellfiend.

The specters watched as Tianming pushed their last hope farther and farther into the distance.

”Is he able to destroy it?” Yumo Lingyue was chronically weak. Her parents had just died, and she felt that she was about to float off into death and despair. She still didn’t understand how Tianming had become their hunter, nor why she wasn’t ingesting starblood like she should have been.

Didn’t the seniors tell her that they were in the right? Nova source worlds were pastures upon which their livestock grew, and House Yumo’s specters were custodians of those pastures, culling the livestock if they got too large in number to preserve the land they resided on.

Yumo Xue said, ”The Hellfiend already has a hole in it. If he enters it and destroys the divine astralship formation to release the nova source within, he’ll be able to trigger an explosion!”

”Doesn’t that mean House Yumo will lose our only mobile stareye?” Yumo Yuanni said, crying.

Yumo Xue closed his eyes. ”I don’t think that’s the end of it. This monster will definitely return to Myriadpath Valley for revenge!”

”Aaaah.... aah....” Yumo Lingyue shook in pain as her vision blurred. ”Why? Why? Aren’t we the strongest specters in the astralscape? How could something that’s stronger than our parents appear in a mundus like this? How?”

Nobody could answer her question.

Yumo Xue suffered even more than her. Thinking back to when he had stopped Suishen Yao and arrogantly mocked Tianming caused his mind to blank out. He felt like a beast waiting to be slaughtered.

”We’re definitely going to die! We’re already dead!” he howled. Even someone like him was sobbing from true fear.

”Dad, Mom, save me! Quick!” Just as Yumo Xue cried out for his parents, praying desperately for them to come out of the ruins of the mobile stareye, a blinding light enveloped the void in the distance. At first, there was silence, then the sound finally reached them. The booming sound waves wracked their bodies even further, but their hearts had already been battered by the sight. All three of them knew that the explosion was the result of the ten skypiercer-class miniaturized nova sources that powered the Hellfiend.

”The Hellfiend’s gone....”

”Waaaaah!”

The light from ten exploding compressed stars drowned out the entirety of Greensource. Some people who were in the light couldn’t see anything apart from their own bodies. It was nothing but blinding white for an entire fifteen minutes until the surroundings dimmed somewhat.

It was quite a shame for something with a hundred times the energy of Greensource to be released into the astralscape just like that. However, people understood that Tianming had done it to make sure that the Hellfiend was completely eradicated so that House Yumo would no longer be able to refine another drop of starblood.

Right as the light was dimming, Yumo Xue and the others felt a jolt. They turned and saw the white-haired youth dragging them toward Greensource by the spider threads and knew what he was going to do. There would be a trial.

”Big Bro! Think of something!” Yumo Yuanni cried.

”What can I even do?” Yumo Xue broke down.

”I don’t want to die... I don’t want to die!” Yumo Lingyue lost her mind and repeated that over and over.

Tianming dragged them to the largest city in Greensource. At least ten million people were gathered there to watch as he dragged the three so-called strongest specters in the astralscape down to them with their own eyes rather than seeing it through the omnisentient threads.

The masses felt fear at the sight of the specters, the instinctual fear a lower lifeform would have for a higher one. However, their guardian and ruler was there with them and their fear turned to rage toward the three young members of House Yumo.

”Kneel,” Tianming said.

”We will!” Yumo Xue and the rest knelt towards the masses.

”Kneel in that direction!” Tianming forcefully tugged the spider threads that bound them, causing them to howl in fear and change where they were facing. The masses saw that they were kneeling in the direction where Viridian—the dead, green star—was.

”Trillions of our own were refined into a single drop of blood. Everyone, does that sound fair and just to you?!” Tianming said.

The masses roared, ”No!”

It was echoed throughout the Infinitum Mundus as a whole, not just Greensource.

”I don’t know the so-called truth of the world they talked about. What I don’t understand is how they could treat someone like them with tripartite souls so badly. All I know is that anyone who touches my people in the Infinitum Mundus will die and never rest in peace!”

The specters knew that the moment of their deaths had come.

”Aaaagh!” Yumo Xue still tried to hug Tianming’s leg to beg for mercy, but Tianming didn’t even give him a look as he swung his sword and three terrified specters turned into dust.

”If your souls are able to return to Myriadpath Valley, tell your family that the time of their demise is coming.”
