Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3087 - It’s Not What You Think

Tianming’s red surname and black given name pushed Huang Jiaoyang’s down. He made it to the 9862nd place. It was the only red name on the ranking, and one of few black ones. The combination of colors attracted quite a lot of attention.

Even so, the way that he had risen up in the ranking was the most shocking part. His name pushed Huang Jiaoyang’s down, just like how his person had also allegedly done. The crowd broke into another commotion after a moment of shock and silence.

The first ones to shout were the few black ring disciples there. They shouted as loud as they could, cheering for an idol that was many times younger than they were. The black ring disciples had been enduring so much unfair treatment the entire time, having to bow their heads to everyone everywhere they went.

Huang Daoxiong had once said that gold was the color of people, while black was the color of dogs. The ’dogs’ of Myriadpath Valley felt looked down upon no matter where they were. Tianming, among them, was even the worst kind of mixed-blood stray. All in all, what’d happened that day was the same as a stray mutt coming into the house and dominating the mistress of the house, or at least that was the impression that everyone watching had.

Most of the gold ring disciples and myriadpath saints there weren’t from House Huang, nor were they friends of Reverend Daolie. They were just there to watch things play out, and as such weren’t the least bit mad at seeing a dog defile a maiden. In fact, they had also watched the affair with much anticipation and excitement. Nobody had ever said that all gold ring holders had to be on the same side, after all.

Tianming could tell that that was how most of them thought with a single look at the crowd. ”At the end of the day, they’re only this excited because of how implausible it is for me to be doing this. They wouldn’t have nearly as big a reaction if I were a gold ring disciple.”

The cheers and smiles were by no means a sign of support. They would quickly turn against Tianming if they were the ones being bitten by him. Only black ring disciples truly felt elation at Tianming’s actions!

The Little Lion King’s reputation had been completely ruined. The leopard girl struggled to get up and was shocked to see all those odd gazes directed at her. The arena had simply been far too loud; no matter how much she shouted, nobody could hear her, and most even thought that she had gone hysterical from the shock.

”Li Tianming!” The hundreds of people around the Little Lion King couldn’t endure the humiliation any longer and charged at him like madmen.

”You guys were asking for it!” As far as Tianming was concerned, they could have left him alone. But out of some weird sense of pride and superiority, everyone from Huang Daoxiong to Huang Daosheng kept coming for him unprovoked.

Tianming couldn’t just let them do it without reacting, so he chose to humiliate Huang Daosheng in the worst way possible, completely destroying his reputation. It would teach the others to think twice before looking down on him in the future.

With so many people rushing at him with no semblance of order, it was all too easy for Tianming to escape. Lightning surrounded his body as he used Fiveway Blitzrun! Lightning arrays appeared amidst the crowds, jumping from yin lightning array to yang lightning array. Within a few moments, he made it out of the group!

The few hundred pursuers caught nothing but air. Huang Jiaoyang blankly watched them, finally understanding the nature of the misunderstanding from their odd and humiliated expressions, as well as the laughter from the onlookers. ”Brother Sheng, everyone, don’t misunderstand! It isn’t what you think!”

”Then what is it?! You were screaming like that! There’s no way all he did in there was tickle you!” said Huang Jiaoyuan, her sister. Even at a moment like this, she didn’t hold back and delivered a snide remark against her sister just like they had always done to each other growing up. Even so, she was all too relieved that she had been slower than her sister when she’d issued the challenge to Tianming.

”Sister....” Huang Jiaoyang was completely stupefied. Who would believe her now if she said that she had really only been tickled? No matter what explanation she gave, she knew that there was no changing the onlookers’ minds from their expressions!

”Brother Sheng!” She widened her eyes and looked at the man with blonde, curly hair, who hadn’t looked at her even once. He merely turned and left. His shaking shoulders gave away how much he had been holding back his feelings.

Soon, the news would spread all throughout Myriadpath Valley. The matter of her purity was far more salacious than what Tianming had done. It would only be made worse once the rumors were repeated countless times! If things weren’t controlled, everything would blow out of proportion.

Eventually, those who hadn’t been there to witness what happened firsthand would speak of it as if they’d witnessed every detail of what Tianming had done to Huang Jiaoyang, as if they had done so from Huang Daosheng’s front-row seat. Some even said that Tianming’s ’third leg’ was thicker than Huang Daosheng’s. Still others claimed that Huang Jiaoyang had fainted from pleasure before the eyes of her fiance.

The news spread far faster than Tianming’s slaughter of Huang Daoxiong and the rest. People brought it up as a matter of course during every meal, as if it was a kind of delicious side dish. Black ring disciples and black ring myriadpath saints described the scenes in the utmost graphic detail.

Hearing about the fiancee of a talented prospective eminent being defeated by a tainted beastmaster was unpleasant for the gold ring holders, to say the least. It was a direct challenge to their authority from black ring holders. But no matter how dissatisfied they felt, it was a matter of House Huang at the end of the day, and they were the only ones who could resolve the situation. After all, the only rule in Myriadpath Valley was minding one’s own business.

Either way, Huang Daosheng’s reputation instantly fell as low as it could go. The mere mention of his name brought on weird looks. It was so bad that he even felt like it was enough to kill him.

Thanks to Tianming and his red-and-black name, Myriadpath Valley grew quite a bit rowdier.

......

When Tianming left the Fortuna Arena, he noticed a change in his myriadpath ring. Apart from information like his master and merit, his rank on the Fortuna Ranking was also displayed. It was incredibly important and gave him the right to go to many training grounds, such as the Grand Myriadpath ruins.

”I also got some merits, too.” Tianming saw that it had risen from zero to three.
