Beastmaster of the Ages

”Myriadpath Valley has no rankings for saints, because there are countless powerhouses! But disciples are in their life’s most crucial two thousand years of cultivation, so they need manna, legacy caeli, Myriadpath Sourcespring, artifacts, cultivation techniques, battle arts, and so on. They can all be exchanged through merit points, and the disciple battles in the Ascension Colosseum are the best way to earn them!”

Myriadpath Valley had two major disciple rankings. They were also the supreme rankings for geniuses of the Million Mundi. Since there was no ranking for saints, the two disciple rankings became the most grand affair.

The top ten on the Fortuna Ranking were the top young geniuses of the astralscape, while the top ten on the Maniverse Ranking were the upcoming generation of powerhouses.

”The top rankers of the Maniverse Ranking aren’t even two thousand years old yet, but many of them already have the strength of reverends and obtain that status. Maniverse disciples who reach the status of reverend have a higher status than ordinary reverends. Those are the true top heroes of Myriadpath Valley, the supreme powerhouses of the universe.”

Tianming’s current limit of strength was an eighth-level cosmic cartographer, which was indeed a bit far from that group of people. Thus, when he said that his goal was to be first on the Fortuna Ranking, Lan Yun laughed.

......

Not long later, Tianming arrived at the Ascension Colosseum. There were countless white battle platforms among a sea of clouds, which constantly had people fighting on them. At the end was a towering white pillar.

”This thing is also a top-tier artifact like the Infinitum Stele. I wonder if it’s maniverse-class?” Tianming felt a terrifying suppression emanating from the pillar. White chains extended from the top of it to every battle platform, forming the system of the Ascension Colosseum.

”This is only the part for fortuna disciples. There’s a larger area deeper inside for maniverse disciples. The maniverse disciples span across a thousand and five hundred years of age, and there are more of them than the fortuna disciples, so the battlefield is also larger.” Faintly visible at the end of the sea of clouds was an even larger pillar. However, as a fortuna disciple, Tianming couldn’t enter that area.

”One Fortuna Pillar and one Maniverse Pillar.” The Fortuna Pillar was covered with ten thousand shining names, with the names at the top being large and those at the bottom small. There were ten thousand names on the Fortuna Ranking, but there were many more fortuna disciples in Myriadpath Valley.

Yin Chen checked and found out that those at the tail end of the Fortuna Ranking were all eighth-level cosmic cartographers.

”This ranking has eighteen foundationeers. Myriadpath Valley has over ten thousand eighth-level cosmic cartographers. Since the population is a pyramid with the weaker cultivation being more numerous, and Li Fan entered as a second-level cosmic cartographer, I estimate there should be over two hundred thousand fortuna disciples in Myriadpath Valley.” The two hundred thousand disciples were stronger than the highest geniuses in the Million Mundi.

”As long as I make it on the Fortuna Ranking, I’ll have surpassed a hundred and ninety thousand people. In Myriadpath Valley, there’s many places with legacy caeli, but the best one is called the Grand Myriadpath Ruins, which has top-tier foundationeer caeli. Only those who make it on the Fortuna Ranking can go in. So it’s another example of rankings determining cultivation resources.

”This is my first time challenging, so I can choose a disciple ranked between nine and ten thousand and send them a challenge letter. All ranked disciples must accept a challenge once in a while. They can choose one from many challenge letters, while I can send up to ten. Once the challenge is accepted, if they defeat me, they can stay on the ranking for a period of time. If I defeat them, their ranking will drop by one, and whether I win or lose will be judged by the myriadpath ring. Of course... I can also kill them! In that case, they won’t just drop in rank but will be directly eliminated.”

For challengers ranked from one to ten thousand on the Fortuna Ranking, the highest they could jump was a thousand ranks. For those who entered the top one thousand, the highest they could challenge was a hundred ranks higher. For those who entered the top hundred, the highest they could challenge was ten ranks higher.

And for the top ten, they could only challenge the person right above them!

That was how the Fortuna Ranking was set up. Staying on the ranking automatically provided merit, fame, and various resources. The higher the rank, the better the resources. Under such a rule, who wouldn’t want to climb up?

”I’ll find ten unlucky ones first to see if I can make it on the ranking. As long as I get on the ranking, I’ll be able to increase my merit points.” Tianming’s eyes scanned the Fortuna Ranking, hoping to find some familiar names. In that case, there would be a higher chance that his challenge letter would be accepted.

Obviously, the people he knew were all enemies. Besides, he dared not make friends now, for fear of implicating others. As he looked, he noticed something strange.

”Each name is actually composed of two colors? One for the surname, and one for the name?” The most common combination was blue surnames with golden names.

”I remember now. When I used the blood tracer to test my age, I was red, representing that I was under a hundred years old. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and blue is the fifth color, representing four to five hundred years old. The surnames of these people are green, meaning they’re in that age range, and their names are golden, indicating that they’re gold ring disciples.” Tianming could only say that Myriadpath Valley was truly committed to the cause, even distinguishing between gold and black rings on the Fortuna Ranking.

However, they added age to the surname for distinction, unlike the Skyward Ranking. Those with the same rank would receive more merit points if they were in a younger age group!

Firstly, the surnames. Red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. Tianming found that surnames were mostly blue. They accounted for over ninety percent, followed by green, and finally yellow.

Orange indicated that the ranked person was under two hundred years old, and there were very few on the entire Fortuna Ranking. Being under two hundred years old and an eighth-level cosmic cartographer or higher was much more impressive than Huang Daoxiong.

As for those under a hundred years old with red surnames, there wasn’t a single one.

Secondly, the names. Black and gold. Ninety-seven percent of the names on the Fortuna Ranking were gold, and there were only about three hundred black names, a pitifully low number. It was glorious for such people to fight their way up there from a mundi.

Tianming saw Gongsun Yan at around the three hundred mark on the Fortuna Ranking. He was an eleventh-level cosmic cartographer with a combination of blue surname and black name, surrounded by a sea of blue and gold names.

Black names were inferior.

”So, if I make it on the ranking, ’Li’ will be red, while ‘Tianming’ will be black? Well, I do think red and black is a good color combination!”
