Beastmaster of the Ages

Shenxi Xingtian was already trying to contact Xiaodao through the transmission stone while maneuvering the Ebonfiend. However, the latter failed to respond.

”What on earth is going on?” Shenxi Xingtian couldn’t figure it out, but had an ominous premonition. The moment he used his transmission stone to contact Taixi City to ask about the situation, he established communication with them. Shenxi Xingtian and his two wives exchanged a meaningful look.

”Oh no!” Shenxi Xuanxi’s broken voice made Shenxi Xingtian’s heart skip a beat. His skull head turned even more pale.

”What—” Shenxi Xingtian said, his voice hoarse. At that moment, the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb hammered the Ebonfiend once more, ripping at the fiendish black head.

”The Gladean Ruins has turned toward the surface and is currently gathering power. It appears to be facing Taixi City! Yi Daiyan’s astralships have surrounded it.... They seem to be working together! What’s going on?” Shenxi Xuanxi asked, visibly shocked.

”That’s impossible!” Shenxi Xingtian exclaimed before spewing a mouthful of black blood.

The Ninedragon Imperial Tomb was attacking the Ebonfiend, while the Gladean Ruins attacked Taixi City! It was the opposite of what he had expected. Neither the ebons nor the Infinitum Army could make sense of it.

”Is Xiaodao crazy or mentally ill? Instead of sitting back and watching the tigers fight, he’s going to help Yi Daiyan? Doesn’t he know that his actions will doom the Swordgod Lin Clan?” Shenxi Ling’e said, her voice cold.

”Yi Daiyan isn’t a good person. Xiaodao’s clearly digging his own grave. Has he been poisoned? Why would he do such an incredibly stupid thing? See if you can contact him!” Shenxi Xuanxi was anxious.

The addition of an infinitum-class astralship could change the entire battle. If the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb were to attack the Greenhill Yushan Clan, they would be quickly annihilated.

In the world down under, the ebons had strategically designed a pincer attack. However, Taixi City was now the target of an identical strategy because of the Gladean Ruins’ change in plans. An attack from an infinitum-class astralship posed the greatest threat to the ether-class Taixi Guard Formation; not even the beast wave could resist it.

”Lin Xiaodao!”

Shenxi Xingtian’s transmission stone flickered but there was no answer. Beads of sweat revealed his uneasiness. Both Tianming and Xiaodao ignored him, which indicated that they were determined to fight.

”You’re ruthless! You... you!” He vomited blood. This was his most desperate and devastating moment. Despite the previous defeats, he still had faith, but at his most confident, his best-laid plans were ruined by the defection of the two astralships. His goal was to defend Taixi City and destroy the other Infinitum Regal Clans, but capturing Greenhill was now impossible, and Taixi City might be decimated.

”Yi Daiyan’s here! Come back at once! The beast wave is receding!” Shenxi Xuanxi’s shrill voice sounded from the other end of the transmission stone, her words laced with despair.

Amidst the nightmare-like mental torment, Shenxi Xingtian spewed out more blood. Yi Daiyan’s appearance meant that everything had been nothing more than a fatal trap for the ebons.

”You’re so cruel, so ruthless!” Shenxi Xingtian felt numb.

The ebons were rooted to the spot, minds sluggish with shock. Even if they couldn’t make sense of it all, they knew that the most important thing now was to give up the rook to save the king. Otherwise they would lose everything, including tens of millions of years of heritage.

”Arghh!” Shenxi Xingtian no longer held out hope for Xiaodao and Tianming. Letting out a guttural roar, he turned the Ebonfiend around and rushed toward Taixi City. The moment it escaped from the clutches of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, countless vines shot up from the ground, wrapping the tomb in thousands of layers. Meanwhile, the nova wildbeasts cleared the way for the Ebonfiend. The ebons’ plan of capturing Greenhill while defending their city had completely crumbled. All they wanted now was to defend Taixi City.

It was at that critical moment that Shenxi Xingtian remembered their foolish move—destroying the underground passages leading toward Taixi City. There were only two ways for the Ebonfiend to quickly reach Taixi City. The first was to return to Ebonopolis and use the passage that connected the two bases. And the other was to blow up the ground, melt the earth with nova source and make their way over.

Neither method was as convenient as taking the underground passages of Taixi City and would waste time. In order to save Taixi City, many of the top nova wildbeasts headed back at once, but it was already too late. The ebons would have to rely on the Ebonfiend alone. Thus, Greenhill declared that they had survived the battle.

The bloodline wisteria was still trying its hardest to trap the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, but the beast wave had receded. Everyone on Greenhill burst into tears and began to cheer and celebrate their victory. Except for the three dealing with infinitum-class warbeasts, the other regal clans were fine and could send troops to support their allies. After fighting off the largest wave of wildbeasts, the major clans and cities grew even more courageous.

Because of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, the war on Ebonia’s surface had experienced a dramatic reversal. News of the tomb’s triumph over the Ebonfiend spread across the star through transmission stones, reaching every household in every city. The entire world knew that Lin Feng and Lin Xiaodao of the Swordgod Lin Clan stood on the side of the Infinitum Bodhimanda, the side of righteousness.

”In order to fight the first rex mundi, the ebons launched a global beast wave to attack the common people. Their shameless, despicable actions have proven that they’re on the opposite side of the people. They stand with the sinners of history. The ebons are the enemies of the Infinitum Mundus!”

“The Swordgod Lin Clan clearly understands righteousness and chose not to collude with the ebons and they managed to turn the tide at the critical moment. It’s a great contribution and worthy of respect!”

”They truly possess the integrity of swordgods! How admirable!”

Information spread quickly. The eyes of every Ebonian brightly shone as they witnessed the big wave that washed over the Infinitum Bodhimanda.

”The Ninedragon Imperial Tomb is so powerful!”

”Lin Feng! Lin Feng!”

”Damn, he’s convinced me!”
