Beastmaster of the Ages

There were no Star Hunter territories, so all they had to do was watch for the Ebonfiend. Yin Chen had moved from the underground world to space. It could split into more invisible cockroaches than eight-starred ladybugs. However, it moved slower in the form of cockroaches, compared to ladybugs or galactic swordbugs. Thus, it traveled in its ladybug form, bursting into a thousand invisible cockroaches upon arrival and slowly spreading out. There were now about ten trillion invisible cockroaches moving through space. Yin Chen was a terrifying life form with an obsessive-compulsive disorder that resulted in well-organized, orderly movement and maintaining a kind of formation. The biggest advantage to that was meticulousness; it hardly ever missed a spot. Its monitoring range around the Myriadstar Zone was now ten times what it was before.

”Our enemies won’t be able to anticipate the abilities of the Primordial Chaos Beasts, they’re unimaginable. And there’s no way they can see the invisible cockroaches from their astralships! We’ll be able to see them coming, so hunting them will be easy!” Tianming said, gritting his teeth.

”Trying to steal from me? I’ll place ten trillion surveillance monitors! By the time you find a cockroach near you, you’ll already be surrounded by ten trillion of them!” As a sky plunderer, he was even more upset about being robbed. After placing those “monitors,” the matter would be left to Lin Xiaodao.

Lin Xiaodao’s strategy was to use the Gladean Ruins if the enemy were to attack with an entire fleet before the sun arrived. He had effective countermeasures for whatever came. There were few astralships on Gladeus, which was a disadvantage. So, although they had Yin Chen, it was hard to say which side would have the upper hand in a real battle. They could only fight to the end.

”We have Gladeus, while our enemy solely relies on astralships. They’ll need more nova source or they won’t be ready for combat.”

That was their advantage.

”We have to wipe them out if we find their hideout and get close to the Traceless once more!” They had to wait for the right opportunity. Anyway, that was the game. So far, all confrontations were open and aboveboard.

Then, one day, they received bad news.

”Etherean, a helical-class nova source world under our jurisdiction called Greenglow has been annihilated by the Star Hunters. At least ten billion are dead. They formed words with the corpses….”

Upon hearing the news, the experts on Gladeus turned pale. Human life was the most precious, but also the most worthless thing. This wasn’t the first time Star Hunters had done such a thing, nor would it be the last. For bandits like them, slaughtering an entire star was commonplace.

”Lin Xiaodao, a debt of blood must be paid in blood!”

Those bloody words were created by piling up ten billion corpses and could be clearly seen from space. Everyone, including Tianming, had underestimated just how far the Star Hunters would go. Such an act was completely unnecessary for capturing the Myriadstar Zone; they wanted to make Lin Xiaodao feel pain and suffering. Once the incident was known to the Infinitum Bodhimanda, Lin Xiaodao’s actions would be subject to public scrutiny and he might even be held responsible. However, the Star Hunters weren’t afraid of any repercussions, because the Infinitum Bodhimanda no longer existed. There were only Shenxi Xingtian and Yi Daiyan.

Perhaps Lin Xiaodao assumed fights would be open and honorable. Thus, there was no stopping ruthless enemies with a total lack of morals who broke all rules. ”The Star Hunters are the real cancer of the astralscape of order. If we don’t get rid of them, human lives will be completely disregarded. Now, it’s you who should pay with blood!”

Originally, their goal was to protect the Infinitum Bodhimanda’s resources, but now they wouldn’t give up slaughtering the Star Hunters until their last breath.

The cosmos was merciless, but so was the world. Tianming felt chills when Skywolf Frost and Skywolf Blaze had been destroyed, but now he had witnessed even purer evil. They slaughtered ten billion people just to make their opponent suffer. Human lives, their stories, their emotions, and their relationships were all insignificant before the power and laws of the cosmos. What was the meaning of life?

Tianming felt like he was drowning. Everything was telling him the only way he could control his own destiny was to climb up. ”Perhaps one is only qualified to give all life the dignity it deserves when they’re strong enough to make the rules and control everything….” Humans would eventually turn to ashes and return to the earth. But could they die without regrets?

……

The Land of Words Unspoken was always deathly silent. It seemed that there were no signs of human habitation for thousands of miles. It was empty, dark, lonely, and endless. Then, two astralships gathered in the sky and finally landed in front of the Land of Words Unspoken as quietly as possible. Yishker Sayedi and Yushan Taifeng emerged from their respective astralships, their expressions cold and tinged with resentment.

”Star Hunters?” Yushan Taifeng asked.

Yishker Sayedi nodded. It was obvious they were there for the same reason.

”Those ruthless bastards think there’s no one in the Infinitum Bodhimanda?!” Yushan Taifeng sneered.

The two little snakes next to Yishker Sayedi’s ears flicked their tongues, their eyes flickering. They stopped talking and respectfully stood in front of the Land of Words Unspoken.

”Rex Mundi, Yushan Taifeng and Yishker Sayedi seek an audience!”

They had been summoned into the Land of Words Unspoken last time.

”Rex Mundi, it’s urgent!” Although Yushan Taifeng felt anxious, he tried to keep a respectful tone.

Unfortunately, there was no response after a long time. Ebonia’s biggest secret was hidden in this place. They couldn’t speak loudly, for fear of disturbing something.

”Rex Mundi, the Star Hunters tried to seize the Myriadstar Zone, taking advantage of the turmoil in the Infinitum Bodhimanda. They were driven away by Lin Xiaodao, but harbored resentment and slaughtered ten billion lives in the helical-class world, Greenglow, as retaliation.” Lowering his head, Yushan Taifeng suppressed the anger in his heart.

”It’s a clear provocation by the Star Hunters. If we don’t strike them hard and teach them a lesson, all the other nova source worlds within the mundus will panic…” Yishker Sayedi added.

The two spoke with rage, but their voices were easily swallowed by the darkness ahead and failed to stir any waves.
