Beastmaster of the Ages

Tianming knew that someone from the Swordsoul Chamber might be watching him, but didn’t care. As Li Muyang had said, compared to the movements in the boundless cosmos, his movements in Ebonia were like an ant moving in its colony. He was safe.

”Hey, what’s this?” As Tianming was absorbing the cosmic impulse, his Fiendsky Arm touched a firm, yet pliable object. Although he tried looking at it with his Plundering Eye, all he could see was the violent cosmic impulse, which made his vision unclear.

”What the hell is it?” Tianming continued feeling around and found that some places were hard, while others were soft. ”Why does it feel so weird? It’s like human skin.” Just as he was thinking that, he grabbed something that appeared to be an arm. He felt along the arm until he touched five fingers.

”Holy crap! It can’t be a human, right?” Was there someone in the cosmic impulse swallowed by the earthworm? Sweating profusely, Tianming pulled with all his strength.

”Come out!” Because the cosmic impulse was viscous, it would take him some effort to pull the person out. During this process, Tianming suddenly felt resistance from the hand inside. If that person was asleep, they had probably been awakened by Tianming.

”What a sturdy physique....” He felt like he was wrestling with a monstrous beast.

The entire cosmic impulse shook. Tianming was awake so he was undoubtedly stronger. Soon, his black arm really pulled out a thin, fair arm that looked a little malnourished. But that was merely its surface appearance; he clearly felt a beast-like power coming from the arm that originated from its innate strength rather than astralforce. The entire arm emerged in no time.

A hoarse voice belonging to a female said, ”Let go of me! I’ll come out.... I’m naked!” The outline of a person began emerging from within the cosmic impulse.

”Ah, I’m sorry.” Although she had just woken up, she was clear-headed and didn’t seem to have been eaten by the earthworm, but entered by choice. Being able to sleep so deeply in the cosmic impulse showed that flesh was extremely strong. That was why Tianming let go of her. Soon, her exposed arm was covered by a layer of black leather; it was what she wore.

Ordinary clothing wouldn’t last in a place like the Swordsoul Purgatory, so Dongshen Yue had also given Tianming a black robe before he entered. It was woven from some kind of grade-seven divine herb and was extremely resilient. The leather clothing that appeared on the girl’s arm should also be based on a similar concept. She hadn’t worn any clothes inside the cosmic impulse because they wouldn’t be able to withstand its destructive power after some time.

”Fuck... she really wasn’t wearing anything?” How awkward! Tianming felt embarrassed and could only hope that she wasn’t awake earlier.

Soon, a person emerged from the cosmic impulse. She quickly flew to a distance, staring fixedly at Tianming.

Tianming looked at her. With just one glance, he was startled. From her body shape, there was no doubt that she was a girl. Although she looked thin, her body was strong and healthy. In fact, her figure was close to perfection, without a trace of excess fat. She had several distinctive characteristics. First of all, her hair was very short, one centimeter long at most, which made her appear tough. Secondly, she wore a black and blue mask that seemed welded to her face—all he could see was her eyes. Finally, the weirdest thing about her was her tail! It was very long, like a black metal rope, and the end was shaped like an arrowhead. It reminded him of a scorpion tail and almost took his breath away.

”A specter?” Tianming narrowed his eyes. No wonder her physique was so powerful. The question was, how could a specter enter the Lin Clan’s Swordsoul Purgatory? He was just about to catch her and try gaining merit points for the capture, but he soon caught sight of the pink disciple card on the left side of her face that recorded her details. Only a member of the Lin Clan would possess a disciple card.

”Lin Xiaogui, First Branch, ordinary clansman, grade-four disciple? A beastmaster? You have a tail, aren’t you a specter?” Tianming was very surprised.

”Your arm is weird as well.” She eased up upon noticing Tianming’s disciple card.

”That’s true.” Beastification? Those features were unlikely to appear in such a high-level clan. Tianming studied the girl. Short hair, mask, tail.... What a weirdo. And why would anyone name their child Lin Xiaogui? [1]

”You killed the flamesoul horned dragon?” Flying toward the cosmic impulse, Lin Xiaogui coldly looked at Tianming.

”Yes. I was going to temper my arm with the cosmic impulse. I didn’t think there’d be someone inside,” he replied. Judging from her reaction, Lin Xiaogui had only woken up when she was about to be pulled out by him.

Tianming quickly changed the subject. ”Little Sister Xioagui, how did you get in there?”

”I discovered the flamesoul horned dragon and cosmic impulse first. I went in to temper my body.” Lin Xiaogui flatly said. She was clearly a very cold person.

”What kind of technique is that? You were sleeping so deeply,” Tianming laughed.

”That’s none of your business.…” Staring at his disciple card, she added, ”Second Branch, primary line scion? Are you a descendant of Lin Mu?” It seemed that she didn’t know about Lin Feng’s return.

”Yes, his illegitimate son that was living abroad and just returned. Do you hate me?” he asked with a smile.

”Hate?” Shaking her head, she reached out and touched the cosmic impulse. ”Let’s get down to business. I was the one who discovered this cosmic impulse first. Then you came in here and interrupted my cultivation. But forget it. Just leave, please.” In other words, she considered the cosmic impulse hers.

”No, Little Sister Gui, we can share it!” Tianming said.

”I’m not your little sister,” Lin Xiaogui coldly said, her eyes frosty.

”This is going to be a problem.” Tianming walked up to her. Although Lin Xiaogui remained motionless, the tail behind her stretched out, its sharp end pointed at Tianming’s eyes.

”Don’t be like this.... We’re the same, we should help each other,” Tianming sincerely said.

”Same kind?” Lin Xiaogui asked.

”Disliked by others, lonely street rats?” Tianming looked into her eyes. He didn’t really mean anything, yet Lin Xiaogui reacted in an exaggerated fashion. She stared at Tianming as if she wanted to say something, yet the words were stuck in her throat.

”Birds of a feather flock together. Let’s be friends.” Tianming stretched out his hand.

However, Lin Xiaogui put her hands behind her back and turned around. ”We can fight to determine the ownership of this cosmic impulse or you can leave.”

”We’re from the same clan. There’s no point in fighting. How about we decide the winner like men?” Tianming asked.

”What do you mean?” Lin Xiaogui replied.

”We’ll arm wrestle using only our physical strength.” Tianming grinned.

Upon hearing that, Lin Xiaogui was taken aback.
