Sovereign of the Ashes

It had not been long since Sein shifted his focus to Florenza Plane.

Yet once again, signs of unrest appeared on the battlefield of the Gallant Federation’s home star domain.

This time, the source of the unrest was the federation itself.

Perhaps it had finally realized that with more and more alien civilizations joining the battlefield, and its enemies growing ever stronger, its chances of winning the Clash of Civilizations were becoming increasingly slim.

In order to turn the tide, the Gallant Federation once again activated its civilizational treasure—the Infinity Light.

This time, the target of this apocalyptical weapon was the Great Monkey of Destruction, who had only recently arrived at the frontlines of this civilizational battlefield and was already wreaking havoc.

Although the Great Monkey of Destruction had only been on this battlefield for a few decades, he had already brought profound calamity upon the Gallant Federation.

Wherever he went, ruin and scorched lands were left in his wake.

For a time, the threat he posed to the Gallant Federation was almost comparable to Nergal!

The black mage had first been severely wounded by a single blast from the Gallant Federation’s Infinity Light. Then, after suffering another blow from the Pharaoh of the Amenkha Empire, he was forced to retreat to Magus World to recover.

And now, the Great Monkey of Destruction, who had only just arrived on the Civilization Battlefield, was about to become the third target of the Infinity Light.

Teyran was a heavily modified mechanical planet.

By the standards of the Astral Realm, Teyran was comparable to a large-sized plane.

True to his reputation as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, who had once shaken both Primordial World and the Immortal Realm, the Great Monkey of Destruction had barely set foot on the Gallant Federation battlefield before charging straight toward the nearest large plane.

He had not even bothered to warm up.

And somehow, he actually managed to breach it!

If the Gallant Federation was not going to use the Infinity Light against someone like him, then who else would they use it on?

Aside from the Great Monkey of Destruction himself, his junior disciple and sworn brother, Li Qingshan, the Great Sage of Demonic Heaven, had also entered this mechanical planet battlefield at the same time.

This was actually an apocalyptic war initiated by two Rank Eight beings!

And between the two of them, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven was clearly the stronger.

Although the Great Sage of Demonic Heaven seemed to have only recently reached Rank Eight, the power of his unique and eerie emotional law power made him extremely troublesome.

The red mist he unleashed affected the Gallant Federation across an even wider area than the destruction caused by the Great Sage Equal to Heaven!

Even before they charged toward this large mechanical planet, the Great Sage of Demonic Heaven had already brought a complete fleet under his command, one composed of peak Rank Six warships.

No one knew exactly how he had turned this federal fleet against its own side.

From four-star generals down to ordinary foot soldiers, they had all become the Great Sage of Demonic Heaven’s loyal subjects.

Even during the surprise assault on this large-sized mechanical planet, it was the Great Sage of Demonic Heaven who struck first, disrupting the planet’s localized self-defense systems. Only then did the Great Monkey of Destruction charge forward, wielding his dark-gold metal staff as he burst straight into the battlefield.

In terms of intensity and spectacle, this regional battlefield in the heart of the federation was far more thrilling than the one where Sein currently was.

In fact, the battlefield on Florenza where Sein was stationed could hardly even be considered a regional battlefield... At most, it was only a small localized battlefield.

The Clash of Civilizations was, after all, the stage where overlord-level beings truly shone.

A rough, mighty roar echoed across heaven and earth.

The massive dark-gold staff struck the ground with earth-shattering force, sending deep fissures tearing through the land.

Countless shards of metal and debris flew through the air amidst the apocalyptic chaos.

It had been a long time since the Great Monkey of Destruction had enjoyed a battle this much.

Dense enemy energy beams shot in from all directions, clanging against his armored body as they rained down.

These energy beams, powerful enough to strike down even Rank Five or Rank Six beings, failed to harm even a single hair on the Great Monkey of Destruction.

The world-class secret treasures he wore were stretched taut across his body as his form continued to expand.

This fellow had never really grown used to being called the “Handsome Monkey King”.

The “Victorious Fighting Buddha” was a title far too refined for him.

The “Great Monkey of Destruction” suited him much better!

To destroy everything!

That was the very reason for his existence!

At least, that was what the Great Monkey of Destruction, who had once served the Supreme Knight Overlord of the Magus Civilization, had always believed.

The pale golden circle on the monkey’s forehead emitted a faint glow.

Its purpose was to prevent his mind from being consumed by the energy of destruction, allowing him to maintain at least a basic level of clarity.

At first, the Great Monkey of Destruction had hated this thing.

It conflicted with the path of destruction he had chosen.

But as time passed, he gradually grew used to wearing it.

Although he acted with reckless abandon, the Great Monkey of Destruction had one virtue.

He listened to his master.

Before leaving the Astral Realm, the Supreme Knight Overlord of the Magus Civilization had also explained the function of this circlet to him.

Because of that, even though he disliked it and had little interest in dealing with the Buddhist faction, he had continued wearing this circlet all these years.

Jet-black energy of destruction and a gentle, pale golden glow became the two dominant sights at the heart of this vast mechanical battlefield.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of federation beings on this plane felt only the oppression and despair that came before destruction. They sensed no trace of gentleness at all.

The federation’s main force on this vast mechanical battlefield was an overlord-class war fleet.

With combat power on par with Rank Eight, it ranked among the three strongest forces in the entire Gallant Federation!

Originally, this fleet had been fighting on the frontlines, engaging first with one of the Magus Civilization’s Rank Eight soul overmage, then with Odin of the Magus Alliance. After suffering heavy losses, it had withdrawn to the vicinity of this mechanical planet to regroup.

The unexpected arrival of two Rank Eight overlords from the Immortal Realm had effectively trapped this conqueror-class Titan fleet right here.

Facing two opponents on its own, this Rank Eight fleet was now under a very real threat of annihilation if no external assistance arrived in time.

Besides the two formidable overlords, the combat legions under their command were also in high spirits.

After all, they had gained tremendous wealth from the Gallant Federation’s abundant resources.

This massive mechanical planet, in particular, was one of the Gallant Federation’s major heavy industry hubs.

The wealth accumulated here far exceeded that of a typical frontline planet.

At this moment, the Immortal Realm legions seemed every bit as frenzied as the Great Monkey of Destruction himself.

The only person who remained calm and level-headed at this point was the Great Sage of Demonic Heaven, who controlled the laws of emotions.

“Calm down. The Gallant Federation has been locked in fierce war with the Magus Civilization for the past few thousand years. They must have some special methods at their disposal,” the Great Sage of Demonic Heaven said.

“I heard that even that Rank Eight black mage was forced back to the Magus World. And the other old man who had intervened a while ago did not display his power for long before quickly retreating and disappearing. He was most likely wary of something.”

Upon hearing this, the Great Monkey of Destruction paid it no mind.

He truly did not think much of this federal fleet, which was cowering behind fixed defensive lines like a turtle hiding in its shell.

Glancing at the battlefield before him, the Great Monkey of Destruction suddenly plucked a tuft of fur from behind his ear and blew it forward.

Now it was clear where the Great Monkey of Destruction’s legion had come from.

As the black fuzz scattered through the air, it quickly transformed into hundreds of thousands of Destruction Monkeys, each one bearing a striking resemblance to him.

And every single one of them possessed considerable strength.

The Great Monkey of Destruction was not as reckless as he appeared. When facing the legions of a technological civilization, he clearly had a few tricks up his sleeve.

By deploying vast numbers of low and mid-tier legions to harass and damage the federation’s overlord-class fleet, the effect was even greater than if the overlords themselves had charged in head-on.

Seeing his minions perform so admirably, the Great Monkey of Destruction could not help but throw his head back and laugh smugly.

His laughter was clearly not appreciated by the federation beings on this mechanical planet.

Unfortunately, his joy did not last long.

A massive white beam of light shot in from the depths of space, causing every hair on the back of his neck to stand on end.

“Holy shit!” the Great Monkey of Destruction cursed.

In that moment of alarm, he raised his staff to block the unknown and terrifying attack.
