Sovereign of the Ashes

Chapter 1766: Suppressing the Blue Ocean

As a medium-sized plane, Aquaria was theoretically capable of withstanding the descent of an overlord-level being.

However, it was clear that Aquaria had never truly welcomed the descent of an overlord before.

As a result, even the mere approach of such a being placed immense strain on its planar will and its environment.

A green-scaled fish with two long white whiskers circled nervously around the newly crowned Ocean King.

Orric now wore the Ocean King’s Crown—undoubtedly a counterfeit.

In appearance, it was indistinguishable from the real thing, yet it emitted not the slightest ripple of law energy.

The true world-class crown remained in the hands of the fugitive Orven.

As a result, Orric became the only Ocean King of the recent generations whose life level remained stuck at Rank Five even after ascending the throne.

To some pessimistic and conservative Aquarians, this alone was enough to signal the planet’s impending decline.

The green-scaled fish circling Orric was Aquaria’s guardian.

It was a relatively inexperienced guardian, having held the role for less than a few thousand years.

This was one of the reasons Orven had initially succeeded in seizing control of Aquaria.

Yet despite its inexperience, the guardian’s love and devotion to its home plane were beyond doubt.

Before Orven and his followers fled, the green-scaled fish had fought fiercely to prevent them from inflicting widespread destruction upon Aquaria.

By that point, Orven had already lost much of his support within the Aquaria Star Domain, and he dared not hurt the guardian.

Perhaps, deep down, Orven still harbored hopes of one day reclaiming Planet Aquaria’s rule with the Gallant Federation’s assistance.

The guardian’s anxious cries achieved little.

Orric slightly lowered his head.

They could not really stop an overlord from descending upon Planet Aquaria.

That being was clearly a powerful figure from the Magus Civilization. Although Orric did not recognize the individual, he was familiar with the smaller creature perched upon the dragon turtle’s back.

Back when they had been near Blue Star and Marvelous Plane, Tourmaline had often come to play with Sein, and Orric had seen her on several occasions.

Moreover, he knew that she was White Stella’s younger sister.

For certain planes, the forceful descent of a Rank Seven overlord was nothing short of torment and agony.

When White Stella forced her way into Marvelous Plane back then, it had put the plane under tremendous strain.

Overlord-level beings could no longer descend upon low-level or microplanes. Their immense lawful bodies and overwhelming energy density would quite literally tear such planes apart.

Medium-sized worlds represent the lowest tier of planes capable of withstanding the descent of an overlord.

Still, not every medium-sized plane could accommodate an overlord.

Planet Aquaria, for example, had long restricted its Ocean King to a single heir. As a result, it produced too few Rank Six beings, preventing its planar laws from expanding properly and ultimately leading to its current predicament.

Truly suitable battlegrounds for overlords to fight without restraint and fully unleash their power remained large-sized worlds and boundless starry skies.

The father-and-daughter pair outside the plane had clearly noticed Planet Aquaria’s response to their descent.

Baxia had a calm and unassuming nature, while Tourmaline was lively and compassionate.

The damage that Baxia’s descent could inflict on Planet Aquaria, along with the strain placed upon its foundational laws, was clearly not something this pair wished to see.

Although Baxia might not care much for the lives of creatures from an unfamiliar star domain, he preferred to maintain a more magnanimous image in front of his daughter.

For example, he had never spoken of the brutal battles between the overlords to his youngest daughter.

Baxia let out a deep, thunderous dragon roar.

With controlled precision, he brought one massive claw down toward the surface of Aquaria’s planar barrier.

Baxia was not attempting to shatter it. He was assisting Aquaria in suppressing its turbulent, surging laws.

He could suppress even the Boundless South Sea of Magus World, a top-tier plane!

What challenge could a mere medium-sized plane like Aquaria possibly pose?

Tourmaline followed her father’s lead, slamming her own claw down beside his. Her power, however, was far weaker.

Her dragon roar lacked Baxia’s primal, weighty resonance, instead ringing out with a clear, melodious tone.

With a single palm strike, the colossal overlord instantly suppressed the storm and tidal forces raging across Aquaria.

Planet Aquaria’s planar will proved far more mature than that of a low-level plane.

Though she also feared the overwhelming overlord aura Baxia carried, the innate affinity for water shared by Baxia and his lineage made Aquaria’s planar will feel less threatened toward him and his daughter.

The thin planar barrier quietly parted, welcoming them.

Baxia, carrying his daughter, slowly entered Aquaria.

Subtle, unseen changes immediately began to stir throughout the world.

Though Baxia was not a native overlord, his arrival and the expansion of Aquaria’s planar laws under his influence would inevitably bring about a profound transformation.

Impressively, this expansion placed no irreversible or excessive burden on Aquaria.

As long as Baxia remained, the laws governing this medium-sized world’s oceans would not descend into chaos!

If he could keep the vast oceans of Magus World in check, how could he fail to do the same here?

At that moment, the guardian’s expression was unusually animated.

While it feared the colossal power Baxia wielded, it could also keenly sense the changes now unfolding within its home planet.

There was no doubt that these changes would benefit Aquaria.

Still, with such a monumental existence now present, the green-scaled fish could not rest easily, even in slumber.

Unlike the Aquarians, whose emotions were complicated and conflicted, the Magus World powerhouses and the foreign deities of the Magus Alliance welcomed the formidable overlord’s arrival with open reverence and enthusiasm.

The most dramatic reaction came from the sea races of Magus World.

From the weakest Rank One and below creatures to the formidable Rank Four and Five powerhouses, nearly all bowed deeply before the colossal dragon turtle.

“Sea God!” they called out in unison.

Having presided over the oceans of Magus World for countless years, Baxia commanded even greater prestige among the sea races than the mermaid overlord herself.

Faced with the worship of tens of millions, Baxia’s expression did not change in the slightest.

Sein quietly observed the overlord after greeting Tourmaline.

As another alliance overlord he now had the chance to observe up close, Tourmaline’s father struck Sein as surprisingly approachable.

It was not that Sein had spoken with Baxia or made direct contact.

Rather, from the gentle aura he exuded and the expression he wore, Sein could tell he was an easygoing being.

While Sein was still observing the dragon-turtle overlord, a white figure suddenly burst forth from the sea not far away.
