Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”Still can’t let go of your obsession with Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Seto?”

Gozaburo spoke lightly, then suddenly raised his voice and shouted:

”But! Even the Ultimate Dragon cannot break free from the shackles of the Dragon-Type! With Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Sword’s effect, even the Ultimate Dragon must remain in Defense Position!”

[Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, DEF 3800]

”You’ve summoned your strongest monster. Looks like this is your limit, Seto,” Gozaburo said. ”In the end, you still can’t break through.”

Kaiba: ”I activate the Spell Card ’Advance Draw’! By tributing a Level 8 or higher monster, I draw two cards from my deck.

My tribute will be—”

He pointed at his own field.

”Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!”

Gozaburo: ”?”

What’s the point of going through all that trouble to summon the Ultimate Dragon, only to immediately tribute it?

Yet, the three-headed white dragon had already vanished in a flurry of light, and Kaiba drew two cards.

Gozaburo frowned.

What are you planning, Seto?

”You’re thinking, ’What are you planning, Seto?’” Kaiba said.

Gozaburo showed a surprised expression.

”Frustrated? Confused?” Kaiba folded his arms and sneered smugly. ”That’s why I said, you only think you’ve evolved, but it’s not true at all, Gozaburo.

You could never read my tactics back then, and nothing has changed now.

This duel has long since fallen into my rhythm. You’re just one step away from defeat. You’re just too slow to realize it.”

”What?”

For the first time, Gozaburo’s surprise was clear on his face.

”I’ve countered all your tricks. I have an invincible Buster Blader on my field.

Even though your ’Deep-Eyes White Dragon’ from the Graveyard is equipped to my side, and even with the ’Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’ you just summoned, you have seven Dragons in your graveyard, so my Buster Blader’s attack remains 9800.

With things like this, what are you going to do—”

”If you want to know, just watch, Gozaburo. Just like you watched me beat you at your own chess game all those years ago, just like I dismantled your power step by step and took KaibaCorp from your hands.

You’re always a lousy chess player, Gozaburo. And I’ll always be three steps ahead!”

Kaiba played another card.

”Spell Card: Pot of Avarice! I shuffle five monster cards from my graveyard back into my deck, then draw two cards!”

Gozaburo reacted immediately: ”Pot of Avarice… I see, you’re trying to reduce the number of Dragons in the Graveyard?”

”I return ’Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon’, the ’Dragon Spirit of White’ discarded by Card Destruction, Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon, Exiled Force, and ’Kaibaman’—five cards shuffled back, then draw two cards!”

All five cards turned into golden light and flew back into the deck, and Kaiba drew.

”Three fewer Dragons in the graveyard, so Buster Blader’s ATK drops by 3000!”

[Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, ATK 9800 → 6800]

”Ugh—” Gozaburo frowned. ”But even so, it’s still 6800 ATK…”

But he quickly realized something was off.

If you chose to shuffle back five Dragons, you could have dropped Buster Blader’s ATK by 5000. Why only three?

”Spell Card: Dragon’s Mirror!” Kaiba declared. ”By banishing the fusion materials from my graveyard, I Fusion Summon a Dragon monster!”

A burst of white light in his graveyard, and three cards popped out, which Kaiba took in hand all at once.

”I banish three ’Blue-Eyes White Dragons’ from my graveyard for another Fusion!”

Gozaburo was shocked: ”But your Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon is already in the graveyard—”

Kaiba ignored him, continuing, ”The strongest, most ultimate dragon in history, transcending time and space, now descends here—

—Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Summon!!!”

Three white dragons appeared once more, their bodies merging in a radiant light, bursting with dazzling brilliance. The dragon’s roar thundered, shaking the heavens and earth, nearly blowing the clouds apart.

[Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, ATK 4500]

Gozaburo frowned, ”You’ve even given up on the evolved form of Ultimate Dragon. Why summon this outdated version now? And as long as it’s a Dragon, it’ll be forced into Defense Position by Buster Blader, and its effects can’t be activated.”

”Is that really true?” Kaiba smirked with arms crossed.

”What?” Gozaburo frowned.

”The graveyard effect of ’Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’,” Kaiba said calmly. ”As long as this card exists in the graveyard, your own ’Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’ cannot become the target of your opponent’s Spells, Traps, or Monster effects, and isn’t affected by any of your opponent’s card effects.” (Anime effect)

Gozaburo: ”!!!”

So it was hiding such a power all along?

”Impossible!” Gozaburo’s eyes widened, staring at the ultimate white dragon.

It can’t be targeted by effects, nor affected by any effects.

”Has Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon even surpassed the gods now?!” Gozaburo looked pale. ”But, although banishing three ’Blue-Eyes White Dragons’ will lower Buster Blader’s ATK by 3000, you’ve now got another ’Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’ on the field.

With ’Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’ still in your graveyard, Buster Blader’s ATK still increases by 2000!”

[Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, ATK 4800]

Gozaburo: ”Even if Ultimate Dragon is immune to Buster Blader’s effect, its ATK still isn’t enough!”

”I activate my final set card.”

Kaiba ruthlessly interrupted, flipping up the last face-down card he’d set earlier.

”Equip Spell: Megamorph! If my life points are lower than yours, the equipped monster’s ATK becomes double its original!”

Kaiba pointed to his field’s strongest white dragon.

”Because of ’Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’ in the graveyard, my Ultimate Dragon can’t be targeted or affected by your effects, but can still be affected by my own cards.

So I equip ’Megamorph’ to ’Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’, doubling its ATK!”

[Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, ATK 4500 → 9000]

”9000 ATK?!” Gozaburo’s face darkened.

9000 attack, immune to targeting and all effects! How do you even fight that?

”I’ve long since surpassed the past, Gozaburo, and I’ll keep moving toward the future!” Kaiba shouted. ”You wanted to defeat me with absolute Dragon suppression? My white dragon will break through with ten, a hundred times more power!

Rest in peace, bring your obsession and wild ambitions to the grave!”

Kaiba waved his hand, giving the final attack order.

”Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack ’Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman’! Ultimate Burst Stream!!”

The three dragon heads released their ultimate breaths simultaneously, merging into a storm of light!

The so-called ultimate dragon-slayer couldn’t withstand the might of the strongest dragon. The waterfall of light swept over him, breaking his sword and armor apart. The torrent continued, engulfing Gansaburou as well.

”Seto aaaaahhh!!!” Gansaburou howled in despair.
