Chapter 743: Chapter 743: The Seventh Prince’s Arrogance!

”Empress Dowager Yan Xi.”

Atop the grand hall, a line of people paid their respects to Empress Dowager Yan Xi.

”Seventh Prince of Dayong.”

Gazing at the middle-aged man at the forefront, who bore a look of haughty arrogance, Empress Dowager Yan Xi’s voice was cold.

”The Seventh Prince has come from afar, you must be very tired indeed. Please rest early.”

The ambition in his eyes was clear, and she felt a disgust in her heart, unwilling to talk more with him.

However...

”Coming to seek marriage with the Empress Dowager, what’s there to tire me?”

Looking at Empress Dowager Yan Xi atop the grand hall, detecting the intention to dismiss him in her words, the eyes of the Seventh Prince of Dayong gleamed coldly.

What a bitch, rejecting a face-saving gesture!

He sneered, softening his voice: ”But it is the Empress Dowager who has incessantly toiled day and night for the state affairs, and I truly cannot bear to see it.”

”However, no worries, it won’t be long before I can relieve the Empress Dowager of her burdens! Then, she will no longer have to exhaust herself so!”

As his words fell, the expressions of everyone within the grand hall abruptly changed.

”How presumptuous! Seventh Prince, what do you mean by those words?”

Upon the grand hall, courtiers were collectively outraged.

His words undoubtedly sought to meddle with the fate of Great Chu, so blatant and brazen!

He truly didn’t regard Great Chu in the slightest!

”Hmph! What is wrong with what I’ve said?”

The Seventh Prince of Dayong looked coldly at them, his face haughty as he spoke: ”In the future, as the husband of the Empress Dowager, naturally, I cannot bear to see my wife working so strenuously. These matters will naturally be attended to by me. What is wrong with that?”

As his statement reached this point, Empress Dowager Yan Xi’s voice was already coldly ringing out.

”The Seventh Prince of Dayong truly need not worry so. The marriage selection has not even commenced; it is not certain that the chosen husband will be you!”

”You speak too soon!”

The ambition of Dayong was apparent, and Empress Dowager Yan Xi would rather casually choose someone from an imperial family than let Dayong succeed.

However...

”Empress Dowager, what you say is incorrect!” The expression of the Seventh Prince turned frosty.

”This Prince deeply admires the Empress Dowager and has even forsaken my noble title within the Dayong Sacred Dynasty, a fact known to all. I believe that others will recognize the sincerity of my deep affections and will naturally not compete with me any further!”

”So...” he raised his eyebrows looking at Empress Dowager Yan Xi and all the Da Chu courtiers with a cold sneer, ”the Empress Dowager should just prepare herself, for she can only choose me!”

”Haha!”

Having said this, he laughed loudly, leading his entourage away with great strides.

”Empress Dowager!”

Watching his departing figure, the faces of the courtiers were filled with urgency, all turning their eyes towards Empress Dowager Yan Xi.

The Seventh Prince of Dayong’s words carried evident profound implications.

Clearly, his intention this time was to seize Great Chu at any cost.

What to do?

”Empress Dowager, I think we should send out the army, and directly deal with them...” a military officer suggested at that moment.

Following the gaze of Empress Dowager Yan Xi, he soon fell silent.

Empress Dowager Yan Xi slightly closed her eyes.

Dispatching the army would indeed be a solution to end all troubles.

But if the Seventh Prince of Dayong were to be killed by Great Chu’s army here, it would inevitably provoke Dayong to wage war!

Wouldn’t that just be handing them the perfect excuse?

The Seventh Prince dares to be so arrogant, spouting wild words within this grand hall, precisely because he relies on the fact that they cannot do anything to him!

Not to mention sending out an army, it’s impossible even to dispatch a powerful warrior to kill him!

Otherwise, Dayong would immediately declare war!

Empress Dowager Yan Xi had already received the battle reports from the border.

Dayong’s army was already beginning to assemble.

Right after the Seventh Prince set out!

It’s self-evident whom this action is directed against!

Therefore, the Seventh Prince of Dayong, cannot be killed!

At least, not before the marriage selection has taken place!
