Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

”I don’t know,” Zade answered truthfully, and then confirmed that what Chloe said about seeing the devil was right.

Therefore, it was difficult to fight them, since among fifty warriors, there would only be one who could actually see the devil, while an omega most likely wouldn’t have such an ability.

”Zade.” Seara wrapped her arms around his waist and looked up at him. ”Can I ask something?” she asked carefully, because she still felt self-conscious that she had asked too much of him without giving anything back.

However, Jane told her that she had to stop thinking that way and tried to articulate what she needed and what she thought so it wouldn’t fester in her mind.

”Anything,” Zade replied solemnly. This was the first time Seara had asked something from him, and he was willing to do anything for her.

”I...” Seara hesitated; she bit her lip and tried to back down, but then she changed her mind and simply blurted it out. ”Is it possible for you to find my parents? Is it too much?”

If that was what Seara wanted, then it was not a request at all. ”Zephyr has been on it. The progress has not been as fast as I wish for; a few things happened, and the gamma from the Blackthorne Pack was not actually very cooperative. He needs to figure out a way to approach this matter differently so he can get the right information.”

Seara was surprised; she didn’t expect Zade to do that. She didn’t think knowing her parents was important, at least not until recently.

Especially at a time like this, she wondered why she could see the devil, and Chloe’s explanation only increased her curiosity.

”Oh.” That was the only reaction that Seara could muster.

”Anything else that you want?” Zade leaned over and pressed his forehead against hers.

Seara didn’t answer that immediately, but then she spoke sheepishly. ”Kiss me...”

And Zade did obediently.

They ended up sleeping in Zade’s bedroom, and when he woke up, his vision was covered by her auburn hair. It was getting longer, and he completely loved it; meanwhile, his mate was sprawled on top of him. She tucked her face into his neck and breathed warmly against his skin.

This was bad, because he felt like he wanted to push her down and devour her. His mind was a very nasty place to visit, because at a moment like this he could only think of all the dirty things that he wanted to do to her.

But in the end, Zade simply hugged her closely, because despite all of his desire to have her and claim her as his, the thought of hurting her was still at the forefront of his mind.

Actually, last night, he wanted to discuss the demon with her and what she had seen all this time.

Due to her previous hallucination issues, they believed that the people only she could see were merely parts of her imagination.

Yet, Zade realized there was more to it. He neatened Seara’s wild curly hair off his face and caressed her back absentmindedly. Her weight on him felt right, as if this closeness was what he was looking for.

Something had been missing in his life, and only now did he realize what it was with his mate by his side. The way she was breathing... the way she nuzzled his neck to find a comfortable spot and how she wrapped her arms around him... Zade felt as if he could live with this.

He didn’t want to think about what he should do with the fact that he had just lost the devil and he couldn’t trust the people around him.

Seara would be devastated when she learned that Maisie was a traitor, and right now Caylin was under interrogation. Both of them were always together, so it was only natural to assume she was part of it, or at least she might have known something.

Zade didn’t want to think about what could happen during the dark time ten years from now because he understood it had started.

The devil had made their move ahead of time.

Zade kissed Seara’s head and stared at the ceiling. He couldn’t care less about the world, but the devil would aim at his mate, and Seara would be a walking target for them.

Lilith was so close to having her hands on Seara, and it seemed their plan didn’t go well because they didn’t expect Chloe to be there and that she could also see her.

However, it wouldn’t be the last; if anything, the devil was only testing the waters on how easy it would be for them to get their hands on Seara.

Especially when they figured out what Maisie had done, and she had been around his mate all this time, though in the past three days, ever since Seara returned from the hospital, Caylin had always come alone.

Still, it was so close...

That thought made Zade hug her tighter, obsessively.

They didn’t need to create the peak of destruction, because the moment Zade lost her, he could become the destruction itself.

Jude stared at his reflection in the mirror. His green eyes shone brightly with a golden hue. He then closed his eyes for a brief moment to savor the memory of the body’s owner, wanting to know every detail about this person.

”Not bad,” Jude mumbled to himself. ”His family has a good background.”

And when he opened his eyes again, he saw Lilith standing next to him. She tilted her head and leaned over to kiss him on the mouth.

”Too young for my liking, but not bad indeed.” Lilith chuckled when Jude grabbed her head and deepened the kiss, biting on her lips. ”Oh, how I miss this...” she moaned.

”Where is the woman?” Jude asked against her lips, and Lilith groaned.

”Couldn’t get her; someone else was there,” Lilith replied. She screamed when Jude suddenly shoved her aside, and her hip hit a chair.

”Useless.”
