Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

It was a fuzzy memory for Zade from the moment he killed Maverick, Axel, and Kai. All he could think of was killing them more and drowning in their warm blood.

Watching life leave their eyes and seeing that split second of clarity when they realized they were no match for the Lycan beast was addicting. The feeling of being so powerful, knowing he could kill them all with ease, was euphoric.

But even in that madness, the beast sensed something nagging at the back of his consciousness. Something was missing, but he couldn’t figure out what it was.

The thought of it made killing no longer feel ecstatic. He tried to find it, but he couldn’t.

The killing was no longer interesting without knowing what he was missing; therefore, the beast only made a kill when he was being threatened, and the opponent attacked him first.

It was fight after fight, as the beast roamed around blindly. The beast fought any shifters that tried to take him down.

Until the beast sensed her scent...

It was the moment when he abandoned the fight to pursue the source of her scent...

”She will be alright,” Rio said to Zade after he injected the drug into the IV bag, and now Seara was asleep. She had to lie on her stomach until her back was healed, and without her healing ability, it would take weeks.

Zade did not respond to Rio’s encouraging words. He didn’t need that. What he needed right now was for Seara to be fine and no longer in pain.

”Is it okay for me to leave you with her alone?” Rio asked. He didn’t mean it as he was worried for Seara, but he was worried about Zade losing his control again. ”Or do you want me to call for...”

Rio didn’t get to finish his words and mentioned some names to be called over when Zade cut him off.

”Leave. I don’t want to be disturbed.”

Rio looked at the Lycan king for a moment before nodding and leaving the room. He wished he would be fine.

This time, Seara occupied a vast room, where there was another bed for Zade to lie down and get some rest, since her anxiety about an open space had reduced greatly.

However, Zade chose to sit on the chair next to her bed and held her hand. He stared at her fingers and avoided looking at her face for a long time, since she had a few bruises on her cheeks and neck, which looked horrifying against her fair skin.

Whenever Zade caught sight of her wounds, he felt anger recoil within him, as if he wanted to grab a knife and stab himself to make up for the wounds on her body.

He had promised her that he would protect her, but he was the one who had brought her harm.

After the chaos caused by the appearance of hundreds, if not thousands, of wolves in the three cities, all of a sudden, they vanished without a trace. They were completely gone. They disappeared just like that.

This topic became headline news for days. There was a lot of wild speculation online as people discussed this phenomenon from various angles.

There were so many conspiracy theories about this phenomenon, and people voiced their opinions about the matter. The discussion about the sudden appearance of the wolves as well as their sudden disappearance without a trace was everywhere.

This was the topic on everyone’s lips right now, and there was nothing they could do to quiet it down. At this point, they needed to let it blow over.

”What are you doing in my house?” Zephyr was surprised to see Altair and Asher in his house. He rarely returned to this building aside from sleeping.

”Sleepover,” Asher replied as he opened each empty room in the gamma’s building. He lived alone, so there were a lot of empty bedrooms here.

”By any means, you are rich; you can just go out there and sleep in any hotel that you like,” Zephyr fumed. ”I do not welcome the people who tried to kill Zade in my house.”

”Then it’s your problem, not mine.” Asher then found a bedroom he liked better, which faced the forest. ”Good night.” And then he closed the door in front of Zephyr’s face, as if he owned this place.

”Who allowed you all to enter the pack house!?” Zephyr was upset, but when he turned around to Altair, he had also found a bedroom he tolerated and closed the door too. ”You can go to the main building; why do you have to stay in my place?!”

All of these pure-blood Lycans had stressed him out. Not to mention he had to manage the consequences of the actions taken by the three packs.

Zephyr was well aware that the two of them could have easy access to the pack house, and they were here not because they wanted to, but because they needed to keep a close eye on Zade.

When a similar thing happened last time, it took Zade years to be able to gain full control of his beast. Zade even had to be locked away for a few months, since he would lose control of his beast from time to time.

Therefore, when they saw that Zade was rather under control after the madness, it was unusual.

Meanwhile, Zade himself was still in the hospital; he barely moved from his position next to Seara’s bed, and Ace was there to keep his eyes on him, but most of the time, he wouldn’t be in the room.

”Neriah is dead,” Ace said when he entered the room and saw that Seara was sleeping. ”We found her body among the victims. There are forty-nine casualties, and she is among them. Two were human, and the rest were shifters from the three packs.”

Zade shifted his attention to Ace. ”Give her a proper burial and don’t mention this to Seara yet.”
