Chapter 749: Chapter 750: East Courtyard Sword Team, First Battle! (3rd Update)

After learning about the existence of the Blood Soul Pearl, Despicable Donkey stayed in the Western Wilderness, searching for both the whereabouts of the Blood God Sect’s Hierarch and the Blood Soul Pearls everywhere.

Therefore, for a short while, he was probably unable to return to the Imperial City.

Meanwhile, Ling Feng, who was far away in the Imperial City, finally faced the East Courtyard Sword Team’s first match.

The day after the dinner at the General Mansion, Ling Feng brought everyone back to the Heavenly Position Academy, preparing wholeheartedly for the upcoming first match.

Though there wouldn’t be any pressure, the first match had to be played with spirit regardless!

It’s worth mentioning that Leng Jianfeng, that guy, seemed to vaguely remember the drunken words he had said to Ling Feng the previous night. He blushed and ran to Ling Feng, threatening and bribing him to ensure he wouldn’t reveal a single word.

Ling Feng wasn’t a gossip, so he naturally agreed readily, also promising to help Leng Jianfeng find out who Su Qingxuan’s ”lover” was.

Poor Ling Feng, calling himself ”lover” cluelessly!

The opponent for the East Courtyard Sword Team’s first match was none other than the North Court Team 2, which Ling Feng was already familiar with, having sparred with them in a practice match before.

Ling Feng held a profound impression of Captain Yang Zhan from North Court Team 2, known for his swift on-the-spot adaptability.

North Court Team 2 wasn’t a weak team; they had at least exerted considerable pressure on the former East Courtyard Sword Team.

In the first round of the Five Academy Sword Team tournament, only five out of the ten sword teams could advance to the second round.

After drawing lots, each group would face three matches, with the team winning two matches considered the winner.

Since each pair of teams needed to play three consecutive matches, only one match would occur between a pair of teams each day.

This is why the entire Five Academy Sword Team tournament spanned as long as three months.

After the tournament concluded, there would be a roughly half-month break, followed by a month’s break after the Four Great Universities’ First Sword Team matches. Finally, the Royal Sword Team’s challenge finals would be the most anticipated event.

After yesterday’s match, the first team to qualify was the West Courtyard Sword Team, led by Xuanyuan’ao.

Today, finally, it was the East Courtyard Sword Team’s turn to take the stage, facing North Court Team 2!

At this moment, the competition venue at the Central Great Sword Fighting Arena of the Heavenly Position Academy was packed with people. Not only had most of the academy’s students and instructors arrived, but many major families from the Imperial City had come as well.

After all, among today’s teams was the recently prominent ”General Wei Yuan” Ling Feng from the Imperial City!

Besides that, Wen Tingguang from the Alchemy Master Guild and the Cangqiong Sect had also arrived.

As a member of the Central Courtyard Sword Team, Yue Yunlan directly advanced without competition, so she brought Qiaoqiao to watch the match as well.

As for Deng Yongshi, he didn’t even watch the Sea Blue Academy’s match and instead dragged Elder Deng, specially coming to see Ling Feng’s match.

East Courtyard Sword Team, contestants’ area.

”According to the strategy discussed yesterday, our team members for this round are Vice-Captain Gong Cheng, followed by Nan Feng, Moo Chen, Yuu Sixian, and Xiaolin.”

Goo Tengfeng looked at his team members and said slowly, ”Any problems?”

The reason for this arrangement was not to underestimate North Court Team 2 but to avoid exposing Ling Feng’s team’s strength in the first round.

Especially Mu Qianxue, with her extraordinary supportive abilities, could only be utilized at the last crucial moment!

This would be the trump card to counter the Royal Sword Team; even against the Central Courtyard Sword Team, Goo Tengfeng didn’t want to reveal it easily.

”No problem!”

Ye Nanfeng was the first to crack his knuckles, producing a sound like gunfire, and grinned broadly.

Even though this time none of the main players went on, he was still absolutely confident.

The two-month devil training in the Fear Forest wasn’t in vain. Moreover, Ling Feng had given each of them a Heavenly Level Martial Technique book!

If they couldn’t win, they might as well go home and eat dirt!

Besides, only in the early matches would some of them have the chance to participate. Against real strong opponents later, they’d have to sit on the bench.

”Gong Cheng, this match is on you, take the first round!”

Goo Tengfeng patted Gong Cheng’s shoulder. He and Gong Cheng were from the same batch, sharing a bond that other team members couldn’t match.

”Don’t worry, Boss Goo!” Gong Cheng clenched his fist, ”This time, leave it to me!”

”And me too!” Xue Xiaolin squinted her eyes, smiling as she hooked her arms around Goo Tengfeng and Gong Cheng’s shoulders; among the East Courtyard Sword Team, only the three of them were the real veterans left.

Although Xue Xiaolin was quite tall, she was still dwarfed by Goo Tengfeng’s towering figure, making her body lean awkwardly.

”Xiaolin.” Goo Tengfeng crouched down, suddenly staring at Xue Xiaolin and scratching his head, blushing a bit, ”Once we defeat the Royal Sword Team, I...”

”Oh?”

Ye Nanfeng, Lin Mochen, and others immediately turned their heads and looked over. Everyone knew that Xue Xiaolin had a thing for Goo Tengfeng; even the emotionally clueless Ling Feng noticed!

Was Boss Goo finally about to make a confession?

Ling Feng also scratched his nose. Although it was too early to say for certain that they could defeat the Royal Sword Team, nonetheless, they had to defeat them!

”Oh, come on.” Xue Xiaolin gritted her silver teeth, her eyes showing some anticipation mixed with nervousness.

”Ah... hahaha...” Goo Tengfeng blushed, seeing those guys staring at him. He swallowed his words and said, ”Um, once we defeat the Royal Sword Team, we must celebrate well, hehe, celebrate...”

”Hmph!”

Xue Xiaolin glared at Goo Tengfeng fiercely, annoyed and itching to bite her teeth.

This bastard, where was his usual overbearing demeanor? Why did he always become...

Like a girl at crucial moments!

She was so impatient that she almost wanted to pounce on this ”Great Ape!”

”Forget you!” Xue Xiaolin stomped hard on Goo Tengfeng’s foot, causing him to grimace in pain.

This ”Great Ape” Captain glared at Yuu Sixian and others who were smirking, saying coldly, ”What’s so funny? If your performance isn’t good later, see how I’ll deal with you!”

...

After a brief tactical discussion, under the high-pitched whistle of Tong Chengtai, the chief referee of this Five Academy Sword Team tournament, members of the two sword teams ascended the Great Sword Fighting Platform one after another!

North Court Team 2 went all out, with Captain Yang Zhan and the formidable Nie Yuanzhou taking the stage together.

Facing the current East Courtyard Sword Team, they naturally didn’t dare to be careless.

However, upon seeing the lineup on the opposite side, Yang Zhan couldn’t help but feel a burning rage.

The East Courtyard Sword Team didn’t even send out a main player. It seemed they were underestimating them too much, weren’t they?
