Chapter 527: Chapter 527: Scaled Demon Princess! (1 update)

Leaning against a tree, Ling Feng rested for quite a while before he regained the strength to move. He took out Golden Needle to prick himself several times and swallowed a few elixirs. Only then did a mere hint of color return to his pale complexion.

”Now, it’s about time to consider how to approach the so-called Sky Demon City,” he murmured.

Ling Feng slowly stood up and realized that the King Beast Egg was still nestled in his arms, which once again posed a dilemma for him.

As a descendant of the Demon Queen, if it could become his Spirit Pet, that would be fantastic, but the risk was equally immense.

Especially if that Demon Emperor couldn’t find the King Beast Egg anytime soon, he would likely launch a massive attack on Iron Wolf City and several other human cities around it.

By then, it would truly be a river of blood.

Ling Feng didn’t consider himself a great hero or a particularly good person, but he couldn’t stand by and watch such a catastrophe unfold.

To sacrifice countless innocent people in several cities for personal gain was something Ling Feng couldn’t bring himself to do.

”Little guy, it’s also time for you to return to the embrace of the Demon Clan,” he said softly.

As Ling Feng gently touched the eggshell of the King Beast Egg, he felt an indescribable force transfer from the egg into his body.

He could vaguely see through the eggshell to the young creature inside!

It was a cub that looked somewhat like a little tiger, curled up inside the eggshell, breathing gently, appearing very peaceful. A small horn crested its head, its fur soft and lustrous, and its overall plump, fluffy appearance was very cute.

”What kind of demon is this? I’ve never seen it before,” Ling Feng mused, touching his nose. If Despicable Donkey were here, it would surely know, but the creature had absorbed a vast amount of Earth Fire Essence and fallen into a deep sleep.

As for Zi Feng, it could only judge the strength of bloodlines; its understanding of such things was far inferior to Despicable Donkey’s.

”It seems this King Beast Egg is approaching its hatching period.”

Ling Feng touched his nose again, knowing that once the King Beast Egg hatched, it would definitely consider the first life it saw as its parent. By then, he would have no way to shake off this young creature.

”The Demon Clan’s army is bearing down just to search for this King Beast Egg. Rather than hiding it, I might as well let those from the Demon Clan discover the egg. Maybe I could even use it to gain the trust of a Demon Emperor.”

A fervent glint appeared in Ling Feng’s eyes. If he gained recognition from the Demon Emperor, entering Sky Demon City would no longer be difficult.

With his mind made up, Ling Feng immediately began to search for traces of the Demon Clan.

Although he appeared human, the demon energy emanating from him was incredibly pure, and even when he occasionally encountered demon beasts on his way, they only dared to cower at his feet, as if a minister seeing their monarch.

”Who knew the Demon Transformation Elixir could be so effective!” Ling Feng said with a touch of pride on his face. It seemed his plan had already succeeded in its first step. Now, the next was to approach the true Demon Clan beings.

While he hadn’t undergone any physical changes and was indistinguishable from any other human, the higher-level members of the Demon Clan often shared similar physical attributes with humans too.

Take for example the Demon Flood Dragon Prince he had fought with in Luofeng Canyon, or the Scaled Demon Princess who later chased Yue Yunlan in the Heavenly Position Mountain Range. They looked just like any ordinary person, save for a few characteristics of demon beasts.

Feeling for the places where the demon energy was densest, Ling Feng kept moving closer. The closer he got, the more densely distributed the demon beasts became.

Eventually, a casual glance from Ling Feng revealed that they were all of the Divine Origin Realm, all Fifth-rank Demon Beasts, and some were even of the Fifth-rank Advanced level, eyeing him aggressively.

However, after surrounding and sniffing around him for a while, they wagged their tails and left.

Although the Demon Clan generally held higher status than Demons, ultimately, it all came down to strength.

With the demon energy emanating from Ling Feng, at best he was about equivalent to a Fourth-rank Demon Beast, so those Fifth-rank Demon Beasts didn’t take Ling Feng seriously, let alone prostrate themselves at his feet in greeting.

As he ventured deeper, Ling Feng was astonished to discover that there were campfires and tents set up ahead. Within the bounds of this encampment, an array of horrific auras almost took Ling Feng’s breath away.

Especially at the core of the camp, there was an aura that vastly surpassed the likes of Yan Cangtian, a presence belonging to a much more formidable being!

Ling Feng knew that it was probably the father of the King Beast Egg he carried—the terrifying, Demon Emperor-level powerhouse!

”Halt!”

At the outer edges of the encampment, a Tiger-headed Demon clad in black armor quickly approached Ling Feng. He hesitated upon seeing Ling Feng’s human-like appearance, but, sensing no issue with the demon energy Ling Feng emitted, he demanded in a deep voice, ”What Demon are you, and from which clan? How come I’ve never seen you before?”

”Hmph, a mere pawn like you has the right to inquire about my identity?” Ling Feng stood with his hands behind his back and glared fiercely at the Tiger-headed Demon.

”This...” The Tiger-headed Demon was startled by Ling Feng’s imposing demeanor but also dared not let him pass, creating a standoff right there.

At that moment, a group of female Demons emerged from the tents. One of them, a tall woman dressed in a plain blue dress, saw the Tiger-head Guard obstructing a man who looked identical to a human and was about to sneer, but suddenly, her eyelids twitched, and she couldn’t help but tremble.

This... isn’t this the man who rescued the human woman in the Heavenly Position Mountain Range!

As it turned out, this blue-dressed female Demon was none other than the Scaled Demon Princess!

The Scaled Demon Clan ranked middle to lower among the Demon Clans and was under the jurisdiction of the very Demon Emperor, making them one of the main contributors to the attack on the human city.

”Princess, what’s wrong?”

The other Scaled Demon females walking with the Scaled Demon Princess noticed her distracted state, and following her gaze, they couldn’t help but express their surprise, ”Is... is that a human?”

”A human, my Big Head ghost! How would a human dare to come here? Haven’t you noticed the noble demon energy radiating from him?”

”Wow...” another Scaled Demon female’s eyes sparkled, ”A Demon transformed so perfectly; could he also be of the Demon Emperor’s bloodline?”

The Scaled Demon Princess clenched her fists and quickly approached Ling Feng, bowing respectfully, ”Scaled Demon Princess Hai Lingxiang, at your service. May I ask how Lord Divine Donkey is fairing?”

”Gre... gre... great one?”

The Tiger Head Guard who had stopped Ling Feng was taken aback and immediately thudded onto his knees, pleading repeatedly, ”Great one, spare my life, forgive my offense!...”

”Hmm?”

Ling Feng ignored the Tiger Head Guard and simply lifted his gaze toward the blue-robed girl bowing respectfully before him and, after pondering for a moment, he finally recalled her identity.

”It’s you!”

The corners of Ling Feng’s mouth lifted into a smile, as he had never expected that letting the Scaled Demon Princess go free back then, because of the Despicable Donkey’s intervention, would now save him a lot of trouble!

After all, the Scaled Demon Princess was a princess, and within the Demon Clan, she should command some respect!

”To think that you still remember Hai Lingxiang, I am indeed flattered by your attention!” Hai Lingxiang said with a sparkling smile.
