Dragon Blood Saint Emperor

Seeing Ye Wushuang standing at the door, the Star Elder called out, ”Come, have a seat.”

Ye Wushuang stepped forward, filled with doubt, and asked, ”Master, what’s wrong? Why do you look so unwell?”

It wasn’t just his poor complexion; Ye Wushuang felt as if his master was like a lamp running out of oil.

’This is too strange!’

”I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

The Star Elder smiled faintly and sized up Ye Wushuang. ”Not bad. Your strength has improved considerably, enough to contend with the strongest disciples. You’ve exceeded my expectations.”

The Star Elder was truly astonished by the results of Ye Wushuang’s training in the Earth Palace. In such a short time, Ye Wushuang had closed the gap between himself and the strongest disciples so quickly.

”However, you mustn’t be careless,” the Star Elder reminded him. ”Those strongest disciples still started a few steps ahead of you. The gap still exists. You must continue to catch up if you want to gain an advantage on the Barbarian God Battle Platform.”

”This disciple understands!” Ye Wushuang nodded. He knew all too well that people like Yang Dingtian, whose Combat Power was already at the Third or Fourth Layer of the Spiritual Spring Realm, would likely be even stronger after receiving opportunities in the Earth Palace. They wouldn’t be easy to deal with.

”As long as you’re clear... COUGH, COUGH!”

As he spoke, the Star Elder’s shoulders hitched, and he coughed a few times.

Seeing this, Ye Wushuang felt even more certain that something was wrong.

The Dragon Cat’s voice suddenly echoed in Ye Wushuang’s mind. ”Kid, your master’s life force is fading.”

”Master, what in the world happened? Why is your life force fading?” Ye Wushuang asked, his expression grave as he looked at the Star Elder. ’How could this happen to an expert of the Yin Yang Realm?’

”You can tell?”

Seeing that Ye Wushuang had seen right through him, the Star Elder was slightly startled, then smiled faintly. ”Since you know, then I have nothing to hide. I called you here today for this very reason.”

With that, the Star Elder stood up and walked to a wooden window. He stood with his hands behind his back, silent for a moment, before saying, ”Haven’t you always wanted to know what my special skill is? Now that it has come to this, I will tell you.”

Although Ye Wushuang didn’t understand the connection, he listened quietly.

The Star Elder said, ”There is a wondrous technique in this world. When cultivated to Great Success, one can know what others do not, perceive the unknown, predict the future, and decide matters of life and death.”

’Predict the future and decide matters of life and death?’

The moment those words were spoken, not only was Ye Wushuang shocked, but even the Dragon Cat in the Chaos Space was astonished. ”The Inference Technique! It’s definitely the Inference Technique! I never expected your master to cultivate such a Heaven-Defying Technique.”

”This wondrous technique is called the Inference Technique. Few know of it. I discovered it in a ruin years ago.” As he spoke, the Star Elder took out a Scroll. ”I named this Scroll of the Inference Technique the ’Celestial Secret Destiny Technique.’ After many years of study, I finally achieved Minor Achievement. I used it to perform a calculation for you, but I never expected... *sigh*!”

Ye Wushuang hadn’t known that when the Star Elder learned he was trapped in the Earth Palace, he had specifically performed a calculation on his fate.

It was precisely because of this calculation that he had subtly touched upon something he shouldn’t have and suffered a backlash.

”Master, did something go wrong with the calculation?” Ye Wushuang asked worriedly. Seeing the Star Elder’s life force fading, he had a vague guess but wasn’t certain.

”During the calculation, I suffered a backlash. By committing a heaven-defying act, my life force was completely exhausted.” The Star Elder looked up at the sky and said hollowly, ”But, although it cost me my life, I was able to see some things clearly.”

”Kid, the Inference Technique is a true Heaven-Defying Technique,” the Dragon Cat added. ”It is not permitted to exist in any heaven. Your master cultivated that Celestial Secret Destiny Technique, likely to infer your destiny. In doing so, he offended ’Heaven’ and was punished by it, having his life force forcibly stripped away.”

”Dead Cat, what exactly is ’Heaven’?” Ye Wushuang frowned and asked. The term had been mentioned several times, starting from their time in the Earth Palace.

The Dragon Cat replied, ”You might not understand if I make it too complicated, so let me put it this way. ’Heaven’ is actually a type of Holy Spirit, born from the fortune of the world. It possesses power that surpasses a Great Saint Sage. In the Nine Heavens Domain, each domain has its own ’Heaven.’ For example, the Grand Emperor Domain has the Grand Emperor Heaven, which is the so-called Celestial Dao.”

’A Celestial Dao that surpasses a Great Saint Sage!’

Ye Wushuang’s heart sank.

”Xiaoshuang, you must remember what I’m about to say.” The Star Elder turned to face Ye Wushuang, his tone heavy. ”Previously, during the inference process, I inadvertently discovered that your destiny is entangled with ’Heaven.’ ’Heaven’ is preparing to destroy the world, and it is also preparing to destroy you. I don’t know what secret you carry, but you must start preparing early.”

”’Heaven’ wants to destroy me?”

Ye Wushuang’s heart sank to the abyss. He had already learned from the Breaking Realm Demon Monarch that ’Heaven’ planned to destroy the world, so he wasn’t completely shocked. What puzzled him was, why would ’Heaven’ notice a minor figure like him?

”That’s right!” said the Star Elder. ”In my inference, I discovered that ’Heaven’ has already taken notice of you. Furthermore, starting from the Barbarian God Battle Platform, you will face a fatal trial, with only a one-in-ten chance of survival. Therefore, I do not intend to let you participate in the Barbarian God Battle Platform. I can barely hang on for a while longer and can use that time to conceal your aura. Otherwise, if it senses you, and if I... *sigh*.”

”Master, I will find a way to save you.”

Hearing this, Ye Wushuang clenched his fists and asked the Dragon Cat, ”Dead Cat, do you know of any way?”

”Kid, his life force is completely gone. The situation is beyond saving. Unless you become a Great Saint Sage and reverse life and death, the chances are practically nil,” the Dragon Cat replied.

”Practically nil?” Ye Wushuang said. ”You mean there’s still a sliver of a chance, right?”

The Dragon Cat said, ”There is a chance, but it requires you to find a Holy Medicine, one even more advanced than an Ancient Medicine King. Only by using the Dao Principle Power of a Holy Medicine to repair your master’s life force can you reverse this. However, Holy Medicines are incredibly hard to find.”

”As long as there’s a way.” Ye Wushuang’s gaze hardened with determination.

”Xiaoshuang, I will now pass the Celestial Secret Destiny Technique to you. It contains my years of insights and my notes on inference. Keep it safe, and wait until you reach the Yin Yang Realm to study it. Remember, do not do so prematurely, or you will suffer a backlash.”

”Also, a great change is coming to the world; the time is near. Only those in the Saint Sage Realm will be able to escape it. If you cannot cultivate to the Saint Sage Realm, then you must flee deep into the starry sky, escape the Grand Emperor Domain, do you understand?”

The Star Elder’s expression was solemn, as if entrusting his final words.

”Master, is there really no other way?” Ye Wushuang was unwilling to accept this. He couldn’t save the whole world, but he had to be able to save his family and friends.

If he had to abandon Ye Rou, abandon Yang Qing’er, abandon his father, and everyone else... he couldn’t do it!

Hearing this, the Star Elder was silent for a long while before saying, ”There is a way... but it is exceedingly difficult!”

Ye Wushuang’s eyes lit up. He immediately asked, ”Master, even if there’s only a slim chance of survival, we have to fight for it! What is the way?”

”Gather the power of the world and use destiny to oppose the Celestial Dao.”

The Star Elder faintly uttered.
