How Could the Villainous Young Master Be a Saintess?

How is Mirexia providing so much virtue? She hasn’t deliberately done anything, yet she’s almost made up for the deficit from purchasing the large-scale light magic [Holy Radiance].

It’s true that the wool comes from the sheep. The virtue Mirexia has provided her probably exceeds that of the top-ranker, Aesphyra.

This trip has yielded so much virtue from Mirexia, equivalent to a free [Holy Radiance], with 4454 virtue remaining. This is the highest virtue value she has ever achieved.

Having taken so much, Vanessa couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.

Although Mirexia didn’t lose out, and Vanessa was just using the convenience provided by the virtue system, even going so far as to expose her identity to save Mirexia, she still felt a bit guilty for profiting from her friend without her knowledge.

As compensation, maybe she should treat Mirexia better in the future?

Vanessa thought to herself.

Though Mirexia seems mature and steady, her mother died during childbirth, and she was raised by her father, never experiencing maternal love.

A healthy child cannot lack either paternal or maternal love.

Mirexia is also a pitiable child.

In a moment of empathy, Vanessa felt even more compassion for Mirexia. She believed Mirexia must lack care and affection, which is why she appears mature yet is fond of girlish things. After all, unlike other girls, she skipped the phase of playful and cute to her mother, playing with dolls and hosting tea parties.

Things other children have experienced but she hasn’t naturally pique her curiosity and interest. Some might even develop an obsession over it.

Thinking this, Vanessa felt she should offer her friend more care, making her feel loved. Of course, this love is the kind between friends.

Beyond that, Vanessa had no other thoughts about Mirexia. She simply felt Mirexia was pitiable and wanted to help this childhood friend who had always supported her, enduring her various annoyances yet still willing to remain friends.

“These miasmas are quite troublesome. Are we still affected?” Vanessa’s peach-like eyes held affection, as if rippling with autumn waves.

She embraced Mirexia from behind, her soft words brushing past her ear. In Mirexia’s still somewhat dazed state, Vanessa reached out, her delicate fingers lightly touching Mirexia’s swan-like neck.

Her pearl-like pink nails lingered briefly on Mirexia’s neck, a cherry-pink glow passing over, completely erasing the lingering black miasma.

Mirexia felt the soft, warm jade-like fingers gently brush her neck, transmitting a warm, jade-like sensation. The cold, skin-tearing pain on her neck disappeared.

But though the pain was gone, she felt as if she had a fever. Her face was burning, and now her entire body felt hot, with no part at a normal temperature.

Did she just speak right into my ear?? And, touch my neck??

Vanessa’s soft, warm words still lingered in her ear, seemingly normal concern yet resembling intoxicating sweet nothings.

Mirexia didn’t know what these actions signified. She only knew her body had already reacted in a way she found perplexing, making her inexplicably shy.

No, no, now is clearly not the time to think about such things. The two of them are still in a life-and-death battle with the dangerous minions of the Demon God Pillar.

“Virtue +400.”

“Current Virtue: 4454.”

Hehe, indeed, Mirexia is too easily emotionally stirred, practically a walking virtue ATM.

The next moment, Vanessa released Mirexia.

Mirexia immediately felt much clearer.

“Lady Mirexia, be careful from now on.” The angel’s wings brushed through the sky, and Mirexia felt a tickling soft touch on her cheek. When she reached out to grab the white streak, she realized it was a white feather left by the angel passing by.

Vanessa gracefully moved through the air, taking a sip of a mana potion as she spun.

Mana potions replenish mana gradually, not instantly, so Vanessa kept drinking to keep her mana in a state of accelerated recovery.

With a wave of her wings, she released countless sharp feather blades. Unlike the feather left on Mirexia, these were sharp and highly lethal.

[Holy King’s Baptism]

Seeing this, Sharag Ghost summoned its tentacles to block Vanessa’s [Holy King’s Baptism]. The feather blades pierced the tentacles’ skin, penetrating but not completely piercing through, thus getting stuck inside.

Sharag seemed to feel no pain. After blocking Vanessa’s feather attack with its tentacles, it swung them at her.

It seemed that unless a fatal injury was inflicted, the Demon God’s minions couldn’t be subdued.

“Lady Mirexia.” Vanessa glanced at Mirexia beside her.

Mirexia understood Vanessa’s intention. Vanessa had actively drawn the Demon God Pillar’s attention to allow her to attack.

While Vanessa held off the Demon God Pillar, Mirexia flanked it, conjuring a massive golden dragon behind her. The dragon roared, spewing crimson lightning at Sharag.

[Divine Cataclysm Thunder]

The crimson thunder rolled towards Sharag.

Though Sharag’s main focus was on Vanessa, some of its smaller eyes watched Mirexia. Mirexia failed to sneak attack it, as the crimson lightning was swallowed by the twisted faces on its body.

Meanwhile, two massive tentacles swung at Vanessa. She didn’t have time to dodge, nor did she intend to. She raised her hand, and a flame with a cherry-colored outer layer, seemingly burning with rainbow-colored glass, bloomed in her palm.

As the tentacles approached the flame, their flesh began to melt.

Sharag’s massive face contorted in pain and fear, quickly retracting its tentacles.

Vanessa caught Sharag’s fear, retracting [Flames of Myriad Divine Blessings], her lips curling slightly.

It was hard to imagine that such a grotesque, painless creature could show such emotion.

On the other side, Mirexia used brute force to shatter the smaller tentacles attacking her, wielding a massive sword entwined with crimson lightning. She slammed the heavy sword onto the monster’s head.

Heavenly thunder flashed, frying the monster’s head to a crisp, its small eyes popping out.

However, this move was ultimately a trade of injuries. Mirexia ignored the venomous miasma spewed by Sharag.

Thus, her back was severely damaged by the toxic miasma, yet she showed no reaction. Her sapphire eyes tinged with a hint of crimson fury, numbing her to the pain.

Relying on her poison resistance, she ignored her injuries, continuing to trade blows with Sharag.

Vanessa knew this was triggered by Mirexia’s [Divine Blessing] trait.

But this couldn’t last long. Unless a fatal injury was inflicted, Sharag wouldn’t be affected, even if decapitated. But Mirexia was different. Despite her strong poison resistance, a mortal couldn’t risk her life against these Demon God Pillar minions.

It wasn’t worth it.

So Vanessa moved behind Mirexia, casting a healing spell. Holy light gradually repaired the poison sores on Mirexia’s back.

“Lady Mirexia, you mustn’t be so reckless. You’ll hurt yourself.” Vanessa called out to Mirexia.

However, Mirexia seemed not to hear, as if oblivious to Vanessa’s words, swinging her massive sword relentlessly at Sharag’s head, seemingly determined to see who would fall first.

This was a side effect of the Wrathful Golden Dragon bloodline.

This couldn’t continue.

“Lady Mirexia, come back. You mustn’t do this. You’ll hurt yourself. If Lady Mirexia gets hurt, it would make me very sad, you know?” Vanessa’s gentle, concerned voice came from behind, and Mirexia suddenly felt a clarity in her mind.

Vinny, sad??

Mirexia’s eyes sharpened, as if waking from a dream, regaining some rationality. She controlled her dragon wings, flying back to Vanessa and retracting them.

Vanessa once again enveloped them with her wings, healing Mirexia’s wounds.

Only the saint’s holy light could effectively heal Mirexia’s wounds, as alchemical potions had limited effect on her.

Feeling the warmth spreading on her back, Mirexia relaxed her brows, stretching her body, recalling Vanessa’s earlier words.

Would she be sad if I got hurt?

“Virtue +100.”

“Current Virtue: 4554.”

The holy light worked well. Even with just an intermediate healing spell, her wounds healed quickly.

“This isn’t the way to fight. Monsters are monsters, not to be judged by human logic.” Vanessa observed Sharag through the wings.

“Without a fatal blow, this ugly monster won’t stop.”

“But it’s quite difficult. If only we knew its weakness.” Vanessa said.

Weakness?? Right.

Mirexia’s eyes sparkled with starlight, pulling a crimson thread from within.

[Dragon Eyes: Piercing Rainbow Sight]

In Mirexia’s vision, everything darkened, including Sharag and its constantly moving small eyes. However, one spot still glowed, the forehead of the twisted face on Sharag’s body.

“There’s something strange about the forehead of the twisted face on Sharag’s body.” Mirexia said.

“Oh? Could that be its weakness?”

“Very likely. The flow of magic there is the least.” Mirexia explained.

“In that case, Lady Mirexia, could you take me there?” Vanessa took another sip of her mana potion, which was nearly empty.

“What are you planning?” Mirexia asked, somewhat uneasy.

But before she finished speaking, a jade-like finger pressed against her lips.

“Don’t~ ask~” Vanessa said with a smile, slightly tilting her head up due to their height difference, with Mirexia being slightly taller.

“Trust me, I have a way. You’ll know soon, Lady Mirexia.”

“But my mana is almost depleted, so I need to retract [Flawless Holy Feathers]. Otherwise, they’ll keep consuming my mana. I need to conserve mana now. Lady Mirexia, could you cooperate with me?~”

“How should I cooperate?” Before she finished speaking, Mirexia saw Vanessa extending her hand towards her, like a graceful lady offering her hand to her dance partner at a ball.

“Could you hold me, please?” Vanessa smiled. “This might seem sudden, but it’s urgent.”

“...I understand.” Mirexia wasn’t sure what she was thinking inside. She knew it wasn’t the time for inappropriate thoughts, but once her eyes fell on Vanessa’s soft, boneless hand and slender waist, she couldn’t help but avert her gaze.

Mirexia cooperated, holding Vanessa in her arms. The soft, smooth waist of the cherry-haired girl and her warm, textured white-stockinged legs pressed against Mirexia through her hands.

Feeling the warm, soft touch and the scent of white tea flowers at her nose, Mirexia’s heartbeat quickened.

Was this because it was the first time she had held another girl like this?

It must be.

“Virtue +500.”

“Current Virtue: 5054.”

“Whoosh~ Your embrace is warm and comfortable, just as I imagined.” Nestled in Mirexia’s arms, Vanessa playfully blinked, teasing with some playful remarks.

“But Lady Mirexia, you mustn’t think I’m heavy, okay~?”

Looking at the cherry-haired girl in her arms, like a little sprite, Mirexia pursed her lips.

How could she be heavy? She was light, soft, fragrant, and very comfortable to hold...

“Virtue +150.”

“Current Virtue: 5204.”

“Lady Mirexia, are you nervous?” Vanessa seemed to see through all of Mirexia’s thoughts, her laughter like a nightingale’s song. “Why are you nervous right now~?”

“Don’t be nervous. No matter the outcome, I’ll be with you, Lady Mirexia. After all...” Vanessa leaned on Mirexia’s shoulder, drawing small circles with her finger. “This was our childhood promise.”

Suddenly, Mirexia seemed to see a scene from many years ago, where a blue-haired boy held a golden-haired girl’s hand, running around the garden.

Years later, both had grown up. Now, the golden-haired girl held the pink-haired girl in her arms, whispering softly.

Their roles seemed reversed.

“Virtue +200.”

“Current Virtue: 5404.”

“Lady Mirexia, you must hold me tightly, don’t let go.” Vanessa smiled. “Otherwise, I might just disappear somewhere.”

“Virtue +80.”

“Current Virtue: 5484.”
