Chapter 298: Divine Chakra: The Divine Armor

Divine Chakra: The Divine Armor

Leon stood shirtless in the wreckage, chest rising in ragged, uneven pulls, every breath scraping through his lungs like sandpaper. His skin was a battlefield—old scars running pale across tense muscle, fresh bruises darkening beneath layers of soot, with ash clinging to him like it had nowhere else to go. The only thing still on him were those black trousers, half-burnt, dusty, torn down the seams. Everything else was gone. The wind passed over his bare skin like it didn’t give a damn—just cold and careless, brushing past whatever was left. Around him, the air felt thick, almost humming, the weight of it coiled tight like the whole battlefield was holding its breath. And overhead, the sky stretched red and furious, bleeding across the horizon like Silver City itself had been cut wide open.

Then—something flickered.

Just a little pulse. Near his chest. Barely there. Like a heartbeat that forgot itself. He looked down without really meaning to, brow furrowing. At first, it was soft—almost easy to miss. But then it started to grow. Not fast. Slow. Steady. Like it knew exactly what it was doing. A glow, warm and cold all at once, pulsing brighter with each second, like it was listening to something he couldn’t hear.

And then it broke through.

Light burst out of him—blue and white, spilling wide, washing over everything like a tide rolling in after a long night. It pushed through the smoke and flame, shoved aside the red, almost like it didn’t give a damn what had come before it. The light wasn’t just bright—it felt alive. It moved in waves, lit up the ruins around him with something that didn’t belong here. Something... quiet. Almost holy. Blood-red walls caught in that pale, cold glow—it didn’t make sense, but it was beautiful in a strange way.

”What the—?” General Dire snapped back, his voice sharp, eyes narrowing as he raised a hand to block the glare.

Leon sucked in a breath. Slow. Deep. And then—he smiled. Just a little. Barely there. But it was real.

The light rising from his chest swirled like mist caught in wind, twisting upward, pulling itself together until it wasn’t just light anymore. It started to shift, to form. Something round. Complete.

A perfect circle, rising into the air, slow and deliberate—like it had always been waiting for this moment.

The brilliance softened. What hovered between them now wasn’t mere light.

It was an object. A relic.

A divine artifact.

It floated motionless, suspended as though untouched by time.

Like a storm held at the edge of silence.

”Chakra...” Leon murmured, golden eyes locked on the strange phenomenon.

The artifact hovered just inches from his chest, aglow with that deep, mesmerizing blue-white hue. It spun gently, its rotation smooth, steady, as if it were alive—watching. Waiting.

Its surface bore intricate patterns, spiraling inward like a galaxy drawn into itself. Four quadrants divided the perfect ring; each etched with symbols of harmony and flow. And within those quarters—there lay hollows. Empty indentations shaped like closed fists. Four of them. Unfilled. Waiting.

Incomplete.

Recognition stirred within him, sudden and piercing.

His breath caught.

He whispered, ”This is chakra... a divine artifact of balance.”

And with that whisper, memory surged.

He saw Cynthia—on the day she knelt and pledged herself to him—press this very artifact into his hands. Her eyes had glistened with certainty, her voice unwavering as she spoke words forever etched in him: ”You are the chosen. My goddess... our goddess... chose you as her husband. This belongs to you now.”

Back then, the artifact had simply disappeared into him, fusing with his soul as if it belonged there all along. He’d asked the system about it once, half-expecting a flood of answers.

But the response had been strangely quiet.

[This artifact is incomplete. Not ready for use.]

No more. No less.

Since then, the system had watched it. Studied it. But never spoke of it again.

Not until now.

General Dire’s voice rang nearby—taunting, venomous, speaking of Silver City’s inevitable fall. He shouted something about time, about two minutes remaining. Just two.

Leon’s mind snapped back to the urgency of escape. His eyes flicked toward his two most loyal subordinates, calculating how they might break free.

And then, it happened.

A voice echoed in his mind. A voice that wasn’t human.

One only he could hear.

[System Notification]

[Host, subtle energy shift detected within the divine artifact near your heart.]

[The Chakra is still incomplete... but it is activating.]

Leon blinked, heartbeat skipping. ”W-What?”

His golden eyes flew wide. ”System... what are you saying?” His voice was quiet, but his face stayed blank, unreadable.

[Host, you can now forcibly activate the artifact—but only by completing the quadrants with elemental force.]

His chest tightened, heartbeat kicking harder, adrenaline starting to burn through him.

[You must act quickly. Fill the four black hollows—inject elemental energy of Fire, Water, Earth, and Holy. Then, stabilize it with a binding sphere of Dark element, and seal it using Wind.]

The words spun in his head—sharp, complex—but there wasn’t time to think.

His jaw locked. No time to stall.

His eyes flicked down to the Chakra hovering in front of his chest, still glowing with a soft, faint pulse.

”...Are you serious?”

[Yes, Host. Complete this formation and the artifact will momentarily stabilize. It will generate a temporary divine armor around your body, shielding you from the explosion.]

His breath caught. ”System... is that really possible?”

[Yes, Host. You have no other option.]

Leon’s voice sharpened. ”Then why the hell didn’t you tell me earlier?”

The system’s reply came with its usual blank tone, but each word struck him like cold steel.

[Before, this activation was unnecessary. You did not possess the required pieces to complete the Chakra.]

[Now, circumstances have changed. I found a workaround—using this Chakra to forge a temporary replica of the lost core. You will gain partial access to the divine armor for a limited duration.]

[Previously, I withheld this to push you toward unlocking its full potential. But this is no longer about potential—this is survival.]

A flicker of irritation flared in Leon’s eyes, but he forced it down. Now wasn’t the time to argue.

[Gentle warning: You have five minutes. Once triggered, the armor will only last that long. When it fades, your elemental reserves will be severely drained. You will enter a weakened state for at least ten minutes.]

He swallowed thickly. The reality was settling in fast. ”...Understood,” he muttered. Then frowned. ”But wait... how do I form these elemental orbs? I don’t know the spells!”

[Wait, Host.]

Then—

[DING!]

[2,500 Black Points have been deducted. New balance: 15,277]

[Monarch-Level Elemental Codex Purchased.]

A hard pressure clutched at his chest—not fear, but the familiar weight of sacrifice.

”2,500...” he whispered. ”Damn expensive... I hope this gamble’s worth it.”

[You now possess Monarch-level elemental spells from all six affinities. The Codex grants access to advanced spells in Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Holy Light, and Darkness. It also includes rare combination spells usable only in synchronization. Use them with precision.]

”...Thanks, System.” He took a slow, deep breath, steadying himself.

Back in the moment, the Chakra floated before him—glowing, expectant.

Just then, General Dire narrowed his gaze from across the ruined field.

”What... What are you doing, Duke Leon?” Dire growled, suspicion laced through every word. His eyes narrowed on the glowing object in Leon’s hand. ”What is that?”

Leon’s eyes opened—glowing brighter than ever before. Calmly, he smiled, his voice low and sure.

”This... is how I walk out of here alive.”

For a second, the General froze. Confusion warped into alarm.

But Leon didn’t wait.

With swift precision, he raised his hand.

[Flame Core.]

A red-orange light burst to life in his right palm, forming a small, flickering orb of fire. It pulsed with heat and purpose. Leon guided it toward one of the hollow quadrants embedded in the artifact before him.

Fsshhh—

The flame orb clicked into the first slot like a key into its lock. Instantly, the Chakra pulsed. One quadrant filled with radiant fire energy, glowing brilliantly.

Then came the second.

”[Earth Root.]”

Leon summoned a brown orb from the ground, trembling with dense weight. His other hand pressed it into the next quadrant. Earth merged into the artifact—silent, steady, and powerful.

No hesitation.

His voice rang again.

”[Aqua Soul.]”

A swirl of blue spun into form, glistening with moisture. Water shimmered in his hand, cooling the air around them. With steady motion, Leon let it settle into the third slot.

Then came the divine light.

His tone softened, almost reverent:

”[Sanctum Light.]”

A radiant golden orb emerged from his palm—warm, pure, holy. It hummed as it floated gently into the fourth quadrant. The entire Chakra glowed. All four elements now pulsed in harmony, their rhythm perfect.

The artifact began to spin. Slowly at first. Then faster.

General Dire’s face contorted. His voice cracked as he stumbled back in disbelief. ”W-Wait... that’s...
