Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill

Chapter 672: 672:Time To Attack

Several scouts from the Allied Army remained hidden across the surrounding hills while carefully observing every movement taking place inside the Arcadian camp.

They had been stationed there for several days without changing positions because their only task was to keep track of Arcadia’s movements and immediately report anything unusual. Each of them concealed their presence carefully among the rocks and dry bushes while using specially crafted observation tools to watch the distant battlefield. Their expressions remained calm until loud war horns suddenly echoed across the plains and countless soldiers inside the Arcadian camp began rushing toward the outer defenses.

One scout immediately frowned and adjusted the small viewing scope in his hand. The next moment, his eyes widened.

”What is happening over there?”

The others quickly looked in the same direction.

A massive cloud of dust had risen into the sky while countless monsters charged directly toward the Arcadian camp from the distant wilderness. Even from several kilometers away, they could clearly see the enormous Iron Horn Boars crashing into the defensive line while giant Stoneback Bears and countless Shadow Wolves flooded the battlefield. Bright flashes of magic repeatedly illuminated the horizon while loud explosions continued echoing across the land.

One of the older scouts stared silently for a few moments before his face suddenly became serious.

”The monsters...”

”They’re attacking Arcadia.”

The others were equally stunned.

”This is impossible. They’ve always been attacking our side.”

”Why would they suddenly change targets?”

Nobody could answer.

The battlefield before them had already become chaotic while the Arcadian soldiers desperately held back the monster tide. The scouts no longer dared waste another second. One of them immediately took out a communication crystal while another summoned a swift messenger bird. Both reports were sent at the same time.

”Send the report immediately.”

”Inform headquarters.”

”The situation has changed.”

Within a short time, the urgent report reached the Allied Headquarters.

The command tent that had remained relatively quiet suddenly became busy once again while messengers hurried in and out carrying new information. One by one, the commanders, generals, nobles, and military advisers from the four Empires quickly gathered inside after receiving the emergency summons. The atmosphere inside the tent became unusually heavy because everyone could tell from the expressions of the messengers that something unexpected had happened.

The commander from Xylos looked toward the scout who had just arrived.

”Report.”

The scout immediately bowed.

”Our observers have confirmed it.A large monster tide has attacked the Arcadian camp.”

The moment those words fell, the entire tent became silent.

Several commanders instinctively looked at one another.

A few even thought they had heard wrongly.

One elderly general slowly frowned.

”Repeat that.”

The scout took a deep breath.

”The monster tide has bypassed our forces and launched a direct attack on Arcadia.”

”I personally confirmed it.”

Murmurs immediately spread throughout the command tent.

”This is the first time.”

”The monsters have always targeted us.”

”They pushed our armies back several times because of those attacks.”

”Why would they suddenly attack Arcadia instead?”

Confused expressions appeared on every face.

No one had expected such a report.

For the past several weeks, the Allied Army had suffered repeated losses because of the monster tides. Entire formations had been forced to retreat while countless soldiers had died trying to hold back the beasts. Yet now the same disaster had suddenly appeared before Arcadia instead.

A middle-aged commander slowly rubbed his chin.

”This changes many things.”

Another general nodded.

”If the monsters are attacking Arcadia, their advance will slow down whether they want it or not.”

One of the older nobles folded his arms while carefully thinking about the situation.

”There are only two possibilities.”

”Either this happened by coincidence.”

”Or something else has changed.”

Nobody spoke for several moments.

Every commander quietly considered the possibilities while studying the battlefield map spread across the table.

Finally, one veteran general stepped forward.

”I have a proposal.”

Everyone turned toward him.

He calmly pointed at the map.

”We should do nothing.”

Several people frowned.

The general continued speaking.

”Let Arcadia deal with the monster tide first. The monsters will consume their strength making them lose soldiers.”

”They will have to spend on supplies.”

”Their experts will also consume a large amount of energy.”

He slowly looked around the tent.

”And the moment both sides finish fighting...”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

”We should attack.”

The words immediately caught everyone’s attention.

Another commander slowly nodded.

”It makes sense.”

”If we attack now, both sides will simply turn their attention toward us.”

”But if we wait until the fighting ends...”

”We will strike them when they are at their weakest.”

A general from another Empire leaned over the map and pointed toward several routes leading to the Arcadian camp.

”We can move our forces into position while remaining hidden.”

”The moment the monster tide weakens them, we launch a full assault.”

Another noble agreed.

”They will never expect us to attack immediately after such a battle.”

”The surprise alone will throw their entire formation into chaos.”

One after another, the commanders voiced their agreement.

”I support it.”

”So do I.It is the best opportunity we have had in days.”

The discussion continued for several more minutes while they adjusted the details of the plan and discussed troop movements, supply routes, and attack formations. In the end, every major commander present reached the same conclusion.

The commander from Xylos slowly looked around the tent before giving the final order.

”Very well.”

”We wait.”

”Allow Arcadia and the monster tide to wear each other down.”

His eyes narrowed as he looked toward the battlefield marked on the map.

”And when both sides reach their absolute limit...”

A cold smile slowly appeared on his face.

”We will strike.”

No one objected.

The proposal was accepted by everyone, and the commanders immediately began issuing orders while messengers rushed out of the tent in every direction to prepare the Allied Army for the attack they believed would deal a significant damage.
