Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1447: 1st general

The 1st ranked General couldn’t understand how this was possible. All of his moves, all of his strikes, all of his defenses... they were all being read by this weird skeleton creature!

It wouldn’t have been weird if he wasn’t using his true strength. However, all of his slashes were powered by his Nascent Armor! His Nascent Influence was billowing out like a fire that emanated from his body.

However, none of it was hitting this weird skeleton. It was unaffected by anything.

”How is this possible... your body should be burning!” the old man screamed.

”Yohohohoho! I don’t have a body to burn!” Grieve answered back. And with a swift movement, he slashed his sword in unseeable ways, leaving only a slight glow in the air.

The 1st ranked general’s Nascent Armor began to emit sparks. Not from his own volition, but from the fact that his armor was being chipped slowly by Grieve’s sword attacks!

Seeing that was he helpless against the skeleton’s sword strikes, the 1st ranked general immediately moved away. He took to the distance, hoping that it would allow the advantage to come to him again.

With an intense and fervid eye, the 1st ranked general slashed his sword towards Grieve, who was about a kilometer away from him.

A red crescent slash appeared in the air, almost encompassing the entirety of the Nation of Reborn itself! It cleaved through the skies, through the clouds, and even touched the boundary between the Earth and the Heavens!

This power was everything that the 1st ranked general could muster. It was the very attack that he would have used to destroy the so-called ’Paradise in the Desert’.

With this power coming towards him, Grieve put his sword in front of his chest and assumed a new position.

And suddenly, a different kind of power emanated out of him.

Suddenly, a magic circle appeared under his skeletal feet. Black flames made out the symbols, with little bits of skulls and ghouls seemingly emanating from the flames. It was as if it had been conjured by Death itself!

”WHAT?!” the 1st ranked general screamed, seeing the magic circle appear out of nowhere.

He immediately knew what this was. And it solved the greatest mystery as to why this weird skeletal creature was able to stand toe to toe against him.

”You’re a 9-star Wizard?!”

No one would have expected that a weird skeleton residing in the Nation of Reborn would turn out to be a powerful wizard at the same level as the Mystic Masters of this world! It was unheard of, after all. No demi-human or Beastfolk had ever achieved that level.

And instead, a monster was able to do it?! An undead creature?!

Meanwhile, as the red crescent flash was about to come towards him, Grieve raised his sword. And in conjunction, a strange figure emerged out of the black, bilious magic circle.

It was the image of a man, clad in regal military uniform. Most of the uniforma’s fabric was torn, revealing flesh underneath.

The man’s face was shadowed with the darkness of his cap. However, the smile on his face was as vivid as the real thing. And if one were to look closely, one would be able to see a curling mustache on top of that smile of his.

This figure of a man stood above and beyond Grieve. It was larger than anything conjured in the Nation of Reborn. It rivalled even that of the crescent slash that the 1st ranked general had created.

”Wha... what.... What...”

Seeing this humongous general figure, the old man felt all of his words become stuck in his throat. He couldn’t say anything. The general in front of him had taken away his breath from his majesty.

”No... no way...”

An image flashed in the 1st ranked general’s mind. An image of the very first general in the Royal Continent. The very man who was responsible for uniting all of the regions into one banner, creating the Royal system that the world was now familiar with today.

The 1st ranked general was very familiar with him. After all, he was the very person that he was trying to embody.

He had studied everything about the 1st general, hoping to emulate the majesty and strength that he had shown.

And now, the Diva-like figure in front of him was the exact same personification of the general that he had long aspired to become, the very one he idolized.

How did he appear here?

That wasn’t possible... this man should have been long dead. He should have been nothing but bones and...

The 1st ranked general then looked at the skeleton creature right in front of him.

Slowly, the large figure of the undying general above slowly merged with the image of the skeleton right under it. And the two were a perfect match. The skeleton embodied the perfect frame of the undying general!

This realization dawned on the 1st ranked general, making him tremble in fear.

”That’s...”

But it was too late.

Grieve raised his sword, and the general above him copied his movements perfectly. Then, he delivered a simple slash. One that had perfectly mirrored what the 1st ranked general had done earlier.

And soon, a black, death-like crescent slash appeared in the air. Much bigger, much more imposing than the red crescent slash right in front of it.

The two sword strikes met in the air.

The red crescent slash fought for a brief second, before its fiery red flames were overpowered by the energy of death in the black crescent slash. It wasn’t long before the red crescent slash was cleaved in half as the black crescent slash continued forwards.

The 1st ranked general saw his own red crescent slash dissipated into nothingness just as blackness encompassed his entire vision. The black crescent slash was coming right in front of him.

”I... I surrender! Oh general! How wrong was I! I was a mere copy of the real thing!”

Grieve, at this point, sheathed his sword. ”Too late. Those who raise their swords against Reborn are marked for death.”
