Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 1666: I’ll Stay, You Go!

Fang Chen’s expression turned somewhat strange.

He had just watched Immortal Dizang be smashed apart by Chen Enxue’s Sin Mace until his soul completely scattered. How was he suddenly alive and well again? It had to be known that, as Monarch Yan, Fang Chen was extremely sensitive to fluctuations of yin energy. What happened earlier definitely had not been some kind of illusion.

What had just happened could not possibly have been some kind of illusion.

Chen Enxue’s face darkened. ”You were guarding against me all this time?”

Immortal Dizang stared at the Sin Mace in her hand and nodded. ”Of course. When I killed that woman back then, I accidentally absorbed a fragment of her memories. In those memories, you were the one closest to her. I was certain that if you ever found out she died at my hands, you would seek revenge.”

Chen Enxue cursed under her breath. ”I’ve served the Motian Division for so many years without showing the slightest sign that I knew about this. And yet you still didn’t trust me. You truly are a despicable villain.”

After a pause, she asked, ”What was that technique just now? Who was the one killed by the Sin Mace?”

”You’re still trying to probe for information? Do you think you can leave?” Immortal Dizang looked slightly surprised. ”Even if I told you, you wouldn’t be able to pass it on. What’s the point of asking?”

Chen Enxue fell silent for a moment, then looked at Fang Chen with a bitter smile. ”Ninth Brother, this time I’m out of trump cards. I’ll send you away. Once you’re out, run back to the Enlightenment Underworld Realm as fast as you can. You’ll definitely be safe there. Even if there are people from the Motian Division, they wouldn’t dare act against you lightly.”

Immortal Dizang couldn’t help laughing. ”You can still send him away? With what method? The Sin Mace has already devoured too much of your Yin Lifespan. In your current state, forget sending him away, you can’t even defeat Ghost Dragon.”

Fang Chen glanced at the Sin Mace in Chen Enxue’s hand. Devoured her Yin Lifespan?

He now understood the price of wielding the treasure.

”This Sin Mace isn’t something ordinary people can use recklessly. According to records, even the head of the Yin Soldiers back in the day had to be extremely cautious with it. Use it a few more times, and it would drain your Yin Lifespan until your soul scattered, your existence erased. Only Monarch Yan can wield it without restraint.”

Immortal Dizang’s eyes burned with desire as he stared at the Sin Mace. ”If I were to present this to my lord, I imagine he would be very pleased.”

”If you want the Sin Mace, then you’ll have to wait until I safely send Ninth Brother out of here before I hand it over,” said Chen Enxue, a faint smile playing at her lips. ”Otherwise, if I stake my life on it, I still have a chance of dragging you all down with me. Why don’t you try?”

”Immortal Dizang, let me test her,” Ghost Dragon suddenly said.

Immortal Dizang waved him off. ”No need. If you go, you’ll only be courting death. She isn’t exaggerating. With that artifact in hand, she truly does have the power to fight us to the death. Otherwise, why do you think I’m wasting time talking here?”

Ghost Dragon looked stunned. He had no idea what the Sin Mace was, but he could infer from Immortal Dizang’s cautious attitude that it held a terrifying status in the Underworld.

”This brat is merely a third-transformation immortal. I don’t care about him at all. If you want to exchange his freedom for the Sin Mace, I would usually have no issue. But he knows about Dizang City and the Motian Division. Do you really think I will let him return alive to the Enlightenment Underworld Realm?”

Immortal Dizang looked at Chen Enxue. ”How about this, you hand over the Sin Mace now, and I won’t kill either of you. I’ll simply imprison you in Dizang City. You’ll still be alive to witness the Motian Division fulfill my lord’s heavenly mandate.”

Fang Chen’s eyes narrowed. Heavenly mandate? What’s Motian Dizang’s plan, even?

”I don’t trust you. Let’s stick to my proposal. You yourself said he’s only a third-transformation Immortal. Even if you pursue him afterward, you’d still have a chance to catch him.” Chen Enxue smiled faintly. ”By then, you’ll have the Sin Mace, and both Ninth Brother and I will be dead. No one will know your other identity within the Xie Zhi Division, Drunken Spring Wind. It’s a win-win-win situation.”

When she spoke his alias from within the Xie Zhi Division, Immortal Dizang did not grow angry. Instead, the cold mockery in his eyes deepened. ”Have you considered that the more he knows, the more miserable his death will be?”

”I have no choice. Since I can’t leave, I can only let Ninth Brother shoulder a bit more. At least he still has a path to live.” Chen Enxue turned to Fang Chen. ”Once you leave Dizang City, run as fast as you can. When you get back, tell Senior Sister everything that happened today. She’ll know how to handle it, though she’ll definitely scold me first.”

”Third Senior Sister, you’re so sure he’ll let me go?” Fang Chen asked with a strange look.

Chen Enxue waved the Sin Mace confidently. ”Of course. This is the Sin Mace. How can he not want it?”

”My lord, perhaps there are other ways. Let us attack first and see how long she can last,” Ghost Dragon said in a low voice.

”That would be unnecessary losses. If you die, do you expect me to handle everything personally afterward?”

Immortal Dizang refused again, then smiled. ”Chen Enxue, I agree to your terms. But I’ll only give him a three-day head start. After three days, I’ll personally hunt him down.”

”No. 10 days.” Chen Enxue said calmly. ”At least give him 10 days. You’re an eighth transformation Ancient Immortal. Don’t bully a junior.”

Immortal Dizang nodded readily. ”10 days it is.”

***

At the gates of Dizang City.

Chen Enxue, holding the Sin Mace, gently patted Fang Chen’s shoulder. ”Ninth Brother, I’ll escort you this far. Go on back. I’ll watch you from here.”

Nearby stood Immortal Dizang, Ghost Dragon, and over one hundred Ghost Immortals.

”Third Senior Sister, you just said it yourself, I am only a third transformation,” reminded Fang Chen. ”Escaping from his hands will be difficult.”

Chen Enxue smiled. ”There’s still a sliver of hope. This time, you knowingly walked into danger for my sake. You and Ninth Sister... are both my good junior brother and junior sister. It’s a pity we can’t continue walking the same path together. If you survive this, I believe your future will be limitless.”

She grinned. ”Best of all, pull Sister Sister down and take her position.”

Fang Chen was rendered speechless. Even at a time like this, she still had to take a jab at Xie Aman.

”Third Senior Sister, what I mean is, you leave. I’ll stay.” Fang Chen said calmly.

The smile on Chen Enxue’s face froze.

Ghost Dragon and the others exchanged glances, faint mockery in their eyes.

Immortal Dizang burst into laughter. ”Chen Enxue, it seems your junior brother has feelings for you?”

”Shut your mouth! Do you still want the Sin Mace or not?” Chen Enxue snapped angrily.

Immortal Dizang’s expression darkened slightly, but he merely sneered and said nothing further.

Chen Enxue frowned. ”Ninth Brother, I know you don’t like me. After all, you and Junior Sister Hong are always making eyes at each other. So why?”

She looked at Fang Chen. ”Besides, what makes you think I’d let you stay behind while I escape alone?”

”For the bigger picture.” Fang Chen smiled. ”You have a greater chance of making it back.”

Chen Enxue chuckled, shaking her head. ”Silly child. In your hands, the Sin Mace poses no threat to him. With your cultivation and Yin Lifespan, you can’t even unleash one-tenth of its power. Hurry up and go. I left something for you. When you get back, Senior Sister will pass it on to you.”

With that, she suddenly grabbed Fang Chen by the shoulder, preparing to throw him out. But at that moment, she suddenly paused. A pair of small hands reached out from behind her head and gently covered Chen Enxue’s eyes.
