Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 1655: The Fourth Stage of the Radiant Divine Eyes

Enlightenment Star, Dongsheng Empire.

A grand estate sprawling over a hundred acres stood in the distance. This was the residence of a prince. Ever since the Heavenly Maiden had descended into the world and suppressed the various rebel kings, the Dongsheng Empire had entered the dawn of a golden age.

Before a building with exquisite flying eaves and blue tiles, one that felt both delicate and majestic, stood over a hundred luxuriously dressed nobles. Every face was etched with anxiety as they peered inward from time to time. At the head of the group, a sturdy man paced back and forth incessantly. A noble stepped forward and consoled him, ”My lord, do not worry. The Princess Consort has a strong constitution. She will surely bear a son for you this time.”

Before the man could respond, the sudden cry of a newborn rang out from inside. A midwife rushed out shortly after to deliver the news. ”Congratulations, Prince! It is a daughter!”

The crowd exchanged looks. A daughter?

The sturdy man burst into the building with a face full of joy. Moments later, he emerged cradling a swaddled infant, laughing heartily. ”I finally have a daughter! Hahaha!”

The nobles quickly followed suit with their congratulations.

Watching this from the shadows, Fang Chen flicked his finger. A wisp of spiritual energy silently merged into Little Yu’s body. Having done his part, he turned and departed.

As soon as he returned to his Dao Domain, he saw Fang Zhixue and the others walking toward him in high spirits. Old Sheng followed behind them. The moment he saw Fang Chen, he smiled and transmitted, ”They had quite a harvest this time.”

Fang Zhixue’s eyes lit up as she ran forward. ”Brother! You’re back just in time. Let me tell you, our trip out was incredibly exciting. So many plot twists everywhere!”

Fang Xiaohua refused to be outdone, the two of them sounding like a pair of quacking ducks.

Fang Chen waved his hand to interrupt them, giving them a helpless look. ”Stop for a second. Follow me, I have someone for you to meet.”

He led the three to his cave dwelling, and shortly after, Fang Tong was summoned as well.

Fang Tong’s attention was instantly captured by the trio. ”Brother, could they be—”

Fang Chen pointed at Fang Zhixue. ”This is your Second Sister.”

”Second Sister!” greeted Fang Tong hurriedly.

Fang Zhixue was astonished. ”Another brother?”

”Xiaotian, compare your birth times with his. See who is older,” said Fang Chen with a chuckle.

Fang Xiaotian immediately began comparing birth times with Fang Tong and eventually concluded that Fang Tong was the elder of the two.

”Then Fang Tong shall temporarily be ranked as the third,” stated Fang Chen.

”Greetings, Third Brother,” chirped the siblings Fang Xiaotian and Fang Xiaohua with beaming smiles as they cupped their hands.

Fang Tong rubbed the back of his head, feeling a bit bashful. ”You’re too kind. I am your third brother, but I don’t really have anything to give you two as a meeting gift.”

Fang Zhixue tugged at Fang Chen’s sleeve and asked via voice transmission. ”Brother, just how many children did Father and Mother leave scattered everywhere?”

Fang Chen chuckled, shrugging. ”You’d have to ask them that, though they might not even remember themselves. Let nature take its course. If I run into them, I’ll bring them back to acknowledge their ancestry. If not, there will always be a chance to meet in the future.”

Fang Zhixue nodded. ”I suppose that’s true.”

She glanced at Fang Tong and said, ”Third Brother, your cultivation isn’t low, but it’s still not quite enough. We plan to head out again in a while. Do you want to come with us?”

Fang Tong immediately looked at Fang Chen with hopeful eyes. Seeing Fang Chen nod, he shouted instantly, ”Yes! I want to go with you!”

”Good!” Fang Zhixue clenched her fist, looking resolute. ”When we siblings unite, we can cut through even metal! We must make a name for ourselves in the Enlightenment God Palace! Let’s set our goal as becoming core disciples!”

The three of them turned solemn and nodded heavily.

”Third Brother, there are many other good friends here who went out with us last time. I’ll take you to meet them,” shared Fang Zhixue.

With that, she led the group out of the cave dwelling to find Jiang Tianai and the others.

Watching them leave, Fang Chen casually set up a restrictive formation. He took out the Immortal Origin Stone he had obtained from the Major Immortal Realm. He slowly sliced it open, revealing two stone eyes from within.

”Little Mirror, are these Eyes of Era?” asked Fang Chen curiously.

”These are indeed the Eyes of an Era from an eighth-transformation Grand World Immortal. You’ve hit the jackpot this time,” exclaimed the Mirror of the Universe.

The next moment, without waiting for Fang Chen’s consent, Little Sword manifested directly in front of him. With a face full of curiosity, she picked up one eye to examine it. She suddenly asked, ”Little Chen, can I have a taste of it?”

”This is not a spiritual treasure. Don’t go eating things at random. I have a use for them,” said Fang Chen helplessly.

Reluctantly, Little Sword returned the Eye of an Era to him and informed, ”Then I’m going out for a stroll. I’m about to go crazy from being cooped up.”

”Wait, you’re going out? Do me a favor and pay off a debt while you’re at it.”

He tossed out 5800 immortal crystals to Little Sword. Although they had previously agreed to use merits to offset the debt, his current merits were far from enough to exchange for this many crystals. As for Xu Kun’s debt of two hundred immortal crystals, since he was dead, that debt was considered settled.

After watching Little Sword depart, Fang Chen began preparing the medicine for the fourth stage of the Radiant Divine Eyes. He had already prepared the other spiritual materials. All that remained was the core ingredient—the Eyes of an Era.

An hour later, a medicine emitting a thick, putrid stench was complete. Its appearance was ghastly. Its smell alone was stomach-turning. More importantly, the pair of stone eyes showed no sign of dissolving.

Am I supposed to swallow them whole like this?

Fang Chen hesitated for a few breaths before tilting the bowl and downing it in one go. Then, he carefully observed the changes in his body. Initially, his body felt warm. Soon, the medicinal effects took hold, and a wave of warmth surged into his eyes.

In the middle of his greyish-white eyes, a narrow slit suddenly appeared. This slit resembled the vertical pupil of a serpent. As this slit manifested, Fang Chen noticed that the world wasn’t composed of pale lines anymore. It had become vibrantly multicolored. Above his cultivation chamber, a massive cloud of spiritual energy formed. This majestic spiritual energy then funneled directly into the chamber and merged into his eyes.

Simultaneously, Fang Yanguang—appearing as a young scholar—suddenly manifested behind Fang Chen. He tilted his head back, and his eyes showed the same vertical slits. Within those slits, it was as if he could see vibrant, colorful grand worlds one after another.

Fang Yanguang’s aura began to rise uncontrollably. Soon, he broke through his current realm. His realm continued to grow for several days, then for a month.

When the spiritual energy finally ceased its torrential surge into his eyes, Fang Chen stood up abruptly and turned to look at Fang Yanguang, who was standing behind him.

He had just received wave after wave of violent cultivation feedback. He had ascended to the third transformation only recently, but he was now at the peak of the third transformation.

Fang Yanguang’s aura was no longer inferior to Fang Tianzun’s. He had broken through to the fourth transformation, becoming an Immortal Sovereign.

”The fourth stage of the Radiant Divine Eyes offers a massive boost to avatars...” murmured Fang Chen to himself.

With a flick of his mind, Fang Yanguang transformed into Dao and merged into his body.

He needed to see exactly what mystical changes the fourth stage of the Radiant Divine Eyes had brought to his vision.
