Immortal of the Nine Realms

Several beams of light flickered as Chu Jia and two other leaders of the Killing Spiritual Division met at a certain location.

”The Great Desolate Immortal didn’t follow us here. We should be safe now,” one chief breathed a sigh of relief.

”It’s just a pity about Daoist Yang. He willingly stayed behind to cover us. When we return, we must ask Young Master Qingque to ensure justice. Daoist Yang’s death cannot be in vain,” another chief said grimly, glancing at Chu Jia and the others.

”Both of you, let’s return directly to Yuxu Star in the True Martial Realm. This matter cannot be delayed,” one said firmly.

Chu Jia shook her head. ”I have to return to Fenghai Star first.”

The others were momentarily stunned but said nothing.

Inside Chu Jia’s sleeve lay a Golden Soul Flower. Fang Chen had entrusted it to her earlier, instructing her to bring it back to Tuxiong Star. This made her suspect whether Fang Chen had deliberately stayed behind on Huangsha Star to cover for them.

Both Yang Yuanwu and Fang Chen were second-transformation Loose Immortals. Fang Chen, being a sword cultivator, might just be able to snatch a chance of survival from the Great Desolate Immortal.

Floating Pagoda Realm.

Fang Chen’s previous activities were near the Lesser Underworld, allowing easy passage over the Forgotten River.

Now, while entering the Underworld on Huangsha Star, his status as Monarch Yan brought him no advantage in the Floating Pagoda Realm. He and Yang Yuanwu had to rely on asking around for directions, trying to locate the position of Dangyin Mountain inside the Floating Pagoda Realm.

Months passed without news of Dangyin Mountain. The local Yin Demons knew nothing of it or Jiangguang City.

Even about the Lesser Underworld, their knowledge was limited to hearsay and uncertainty.

This indicated that Dangyin Mountain was likely very far.

Yang Yuanwu had come to understand more about the new Path of Ghost Gods he was now treading. His initially turbulent mood had settled.

He realized that worrying about lifespan was a thing of the past now. As long as he could secure a steady supply of Yin Lifespan Coins, he could almost live forever.

Yang Yuanwu suddenly pointed in a direction. ”There’s a city ahead.”

”Let’s go ask for directions,” said Fang Chen, nodding as he led Yang Yuanwu over.

If they still couldn’t get directions this time, Fang Chen planned to leave and return to the Mortal Realm to seek another path. Judging by their current position, they had already traveled far from Huangsha Star.

At the city gate stood several figures. When they saw Fang Chen and Yang Yuanwu, surprise flickered in their eyes. ”Hmm, native Yin Demons.”

It was rare for native Yin Demons to receive visitors here.

Fang Chen’s eyes narrowed. Yin Walkers.

These few were all first-transformation Loose Immortals, not Yin Demons; they carried the distinct aura of Yin Walkers.

One stepped forward, clasping his hands respectfully as he inquired, ”Where do you two come from?”

The others eyed Fang Chen and Yang Yuanwu cautiously. After all, you couldn’t judge native Yin Demons by appearances—some who looked refined were in truth utterly deranged. They had seen too many cases like that, and their caution was instinctive.

”We are merely passing through, seeking directions. I see you are not local Yin Demons but Yin Walkers, correct?” Fang Chen said with a faint smile.

Hearing what he said, the group visibly relaxed, indicating these two were reasonable Yin Demons who had contact with the Yin Walkers. Such beings were allowed entry.

”You have sharp eyes. I am Chang Yuan. May I ask your names?” one introduced himself.

Fang Chen bowed slightly. ”I am Ji Tiandu.”

Yang Yuanwu also bowed. ”I am Song Zhili.”

”So it’s Daoist Ji and Daoist Song. You’re somewhat connected with Luotian City. Sometimes, in over a decade, no Yin Demon visits here,” Chang Yuan said with a smile.

Fang Chen glanced inside the city. ”Luotian City? It seems mostly Yin Walkers inside. Is this a city you Yin Walkers established here in the Floating Pagoda Realm?”

At least one-tenth were Yin Walkers, and the remaining nine-tenths were local Yin Demons. They were mostly lesser Yin Demons, with no traces of greater Yin Demons.

Chang Yuan smiled and explained, ”Yes. Luotian City was founded by Daoist Luo Tian. It has occupied this area for 3,000 years. It serves as a place for Yin Walkers and local Yin Demons to exchange goods and information. Since you two are connected, feel free to come in and have a look. Maybe you can do some business with us.”

A wise and courteous greater Yin Demon would certainly possess substantial Yin Lifespan Coins. Trading with such beings could be quite profitable.

Chang Yuan warmly welcomed the two into Luotian City, introducing the origin of the place while tactfully inquiring about their backgrounds.

Yang Yuanwu was somewhat surprised. Although he had heard about matters related to traversing the Underworld before, he had always acted cautiously. He thought that one couldn’t even traverse all Nine Realms, let alone venture into the unknown Underworld, for fear of being harmed.

This time, being forced by the Great Desolate Immortal to venture into the Underworld and cultivate the Ghost God Dao, he only began to change his views on the Underworld after arriving in the Floating Pagoda Realm.

He hadn’t expected so many cultivators in the Nine Realms to value the resources of the Underworld, nor that there were people establishing cities here.

Gathering a large number of Yin Walkers?

Smiling, Chang Yuan shared, ”Our Yin Walkers come from all over, possibly even from the Upper Three Realms. Of course, the identities of Yin Walkers are never disclosed to each other, so as not to offend anyone in the Floating Pagoda Realm and suffer consequences upon returning to the Mortal Realm

”Here, if you want to understand the customs of the Mortal Realm, you can chat with any fellow cultivator for days on end. If you want to learn about practical matters within the Floating Pagoda Realm, you can also gain something here. After all, besides Luotian City, we mortal cultivators have established many other cities within the Floating Pagoda Realm, so communication is very convenient.

”Besides, if you want to buy some spiritual materials from the Floating Pagoda Realm, you can browse around here; you might find some unexpected gains.”

Between Chang Yuan’s words, both men could sense a strong confidence. This confidence did not stem from Chang Yuan’s cultivation, but from the power he represented.

Yang Yuanwu glanced at Fang Chen, his expression somewhat serious.

Suddenly, a quarrel broke out in the distance, grabbing the group’s attention.

”Your Myriad Immortal Palace cultivators are not only mad but also shameless. Today, I will expose your villainy! You have no integrity in your business!”

Myriad Immortal Palace?

Fang Chen looked at Chang Yuan. ”Chang Dao Friend, this Myriad Immortal Palace is...”

Oh... they are a group of special cultivators who are quite open about their identities but act somewhat extreme. They must have had some misunderstanding with others,” explained Chang Yuan.

He frowned slightly and glanced in the direction of the quarrel.

”It’s not that we lack integrity, but your information came too late! After you gave us the news, some of us sought out the Creation Star and found the person we were looking for. These past years have just been about preparation.”

”If you don’t believe me, then don’t waste words here. Us Myriad Immortal Palace cultivators don’t take advantage of you, nor will we let you take advantage of us,” spat the Yin Walker from the Myriad Immortal Palace.

With a sneer, he left with his companions. Among them were both first and second transformation Loose Immortals.

The first-transformation Loose Immortal who had been left behind couldn’t swallow his frustration and spoke again. ”I have one more piece of news. Do you want to know? The person you’re looking for has met the third-transformation sword cultivator of the Creation Star. If you want the details, you’ll have to pay me some Yin Lifespan Coins first.”

Unnoticed, Fang Chen calmly took a few steps closer to him.
