Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 903: It’s Good To Have No Regrets

Ye Wenxiu and others stood on an Immortal Boat that Fang Chen had condensed using the Wood Element. It was the first time they discovered that an Immortal Boat could go so fast.

The mountains and rivers below them went by so swiftly.

They estimated it would only take them half an hour to the Concealed Moon Hermitage.

If they had been the ones flying, whether that be through cloud riding techniques or more advanced rainbow transformation techniques, it would still take at least half a month.

Ye Wenxiu sighed and shared, ”Master, Sister Zhu Yue has helped the Qingzhou Sword Sect several times over the years, but the young prince of the Flame Empire has invited cultivators with stronger skills. As a result, Sister Zhu Yue has been injured several times and has been in seclusion healing for many years.

”Because of her interventions, the Concealed Moon Hermitage has also been targeted, and to my knowledge, many nuns have died unnaturally over the years.”

Chen Gongshou stood nearby, feeling uneasy. It was clear to him that Patriarch Fang was not a benevolent man; Feng Feiyang and his men’s deaths were proof of that.

He did not know what fate awaited him next; he could only do his best and leave the rest to fate.

Fang Chen spoke softly. ”We’ve arrived at the Concealed Moon Hermitage.”

Everyone was slightly startled.

So soon?

They all looked down and indeed saw the site of the Concealed Moon Hermitage.

At that moment, a circle of cultivators stood around the perimeter of the nunnery, seemingly having surrounded it.

”It’s the young prince’s men!”

Chen Gongshou was surprised. ”Why would the young prince personally come here...?”

”Are you sure these are all the young prince’s men?” Fang Chen asked lightly.

Chen Gongshou quickly nodded. ”These cultivators come from various backgrounds. Some of them are disciples of sects, and others are wandering cultivators, like me. They were all recruited by the young prince and have followed him for many years.”

Fang Chen smiled. ”It seems the Concealed Moon Hermitage has noticed something. Now, only Abbess Zhu Yue remains.”

Ye Wenxiu was slightly startled and smiled bitterly.

He had been too isolated from information, only knowing of their arrival when they showed up, unlike the Concealed Moon Hermitage, which had prior knowledge.

***

Inside the vast Concealed Moon Hermitage, only one nun was chanting sutras softly before a Buddha statue.

Behind the nun stood a young man in plain clothes, who looked like an ordinary scholar if not examined closely.

However, a few steps behind him followed two cultivators, both at the early stage of the Foundation Building Realm.

”Sister Zhu Yue, have you considered the situation? If you stay here, misfortune may be inevitable,” the young man said, looking at the figure in front of him.

Despite her robes, her slim waist was noticeable.

Pity, she was a bit older.

”The Concealed Moon Hermitage has been established here for many years; it is inconvenient to relocate to another location,” Abbess Zhu Yue stated calmly. ”You can take whatever you want, young prince, as long as you can carry it away. I will not try to stop you.”

The young man smiled. ”I don’t lack spirit stones. It’s just that among your disciples, two young nuns have exceptional talents. One is called Qinghe, and the other Qingyao. Today, I would like to take them with me to leave the Flame Empire. Rest assured, Sister, if they follow me, they will have a bright future ahead of them. Their talents will not be wasted in my hands.”

Over the past decades, although the Flame Empire’s famous Heavenly Southern Sect and Spirit Beast Valley have not produced any remarkably talented individuals, the once-obscure Concealed Moon Hermitage has produced two exceptionally talented female cultivators.

Rumors say the former can communicate with the dead, a skill that, if used well, could be of great assistance to cultivators.

As for the latter, it is said that her natural endowments are such that even without any spirit stones or elixirs, her cultivation could increase daily. Having practiced for only 30 years, she had advanced to the Foundation Building Realm. Now, she was likely halfway to the mid-stage of the Foundation Building Realm.

Having those talents could greatly aid the Flame Empire’s royal family in making a comeback.

Abbess Zhu Yue spoke calmly. ”The Flame Empire’s royal family is so greedy? They aren’t content with external possessions and aim to seize the legacies of our sects, as well?”

”It seems you are well-informed. Indeed, the ancestor has ordered that in addition to taking sufficient elixirs and spirit stones, we must also take the pride of the sects with us,” divulged the young man, chuckling. ”You must understand the ancestor’s thoughts. If you stay in the Flame Empire, you will eventually become adversaries of the Grand Xia cultivators when we return here, something the ancestor does not wish to see.”

”Please return, young prince. I don’t know where they have gone; now, only I remain in the Concealed Moon Hermitage.”

Abbess Zhu Yue continued chanting sutras, ignoring whatever the young man said.

The two early-stage Foundation Building Realm cultivators exchanged glances, and one of them slowly stepped forward.

”Sister Zhu Yue, a wise man submits to circumstances. As a Foundation Building Realm cultivator who has practiced for many years, you should understand this.”

”You are not my opponents,” warned Abbess Zhu Yue, her voice cold.

The young man smiled. ”If you had not been injured, these two early-stage Foundation Building Realm cultivators naturally would not be a match for you. But you have intervened repeatedly over the years, and I suspect your body is already riddled with heavy injuries. Am I wrong?

”Without these old injuries, with your talent, you would have probably entered the late stage of the Foundation Building Realm by now.”

Abbess Zhu Yue did not argue. ”Talking is useless. You can try if you’d like.”

The more she maintained her attitude, the more wary the young man appeared in his eyes.

After a few moments of silence, he waved his hand lightly, signaling them to make their move, while he walked towards the gate.

Before the two could act, the young man had just turned around when he saw a group of people enter, running into them face-to-face.

The young man’s expression darkened; seeing Chen Gongshou brought some relief, but seeing Ye Wenxiu and Liu Mu among the group made him frown. ”Chen Gongshou, I asked you to retrieve the Foundation Building Pill, yet you brought them all here. Why? Didn’t Feng Feiyang accompany you up the mountain?”

One of the two Foundation Building Realm experts, seeing Chen Gongshou arrive, was immediately relieved. ”Chen Gongshou, you’ve come just in time. Join us in taking down Abbess Zhu Yue.”

”Shut your mouth! You think you can just take down Sister Zhu Yue? Who do you think you are?!” Chen Gongshou pointed at the man’s nose and scolded, ”Get the fuck out of here!”

The two Foundation Building Realm experts were taken aback.

The young man was similarly stunned.

Abbess Zhu Yue turned around and saw Fang Chen, and after a few moments of silence, she smiled faintly, nodding in greeting.

Chen Gongshou pointed to the young man and respectfully said to Fang Chen, ”Patriarch Fang, this is the young prince of the Flame Empire.”

Patriarch Fang?

The young prince’s pupils dilated, seeming to understand something. He quickly bowed respectfully with a smile. ”I have seen Patriarch Fang before. Patriarch Fang had been away from the empire for many years! Now that I have seen Patriarch Fang in person, I have no regrets in this life!”

”No regrets....” Fang Chen nodded lightly. ”It’s good if you have no regrets.”

He reached out and made a grabbing motion, and the young prince was involuntarily pulled before him.

Fang Chen gently tapped on his forehead.

With a pop, the young prince’s head, like a mischievous mole, instantly burrowed into his chest and disappeared.

The Foundation Building Realm retainers brought by him saw this scene, taking a cold breath, but dared not react.

The ancestor of the Qingzhou Sword Sect, not only was his cultivation rumored to be impressive, but his background was... terrifying!
