Chapter 76: Chapter 33, Goblin Invasion

”At that time, both Lady Aurora and you were in Frost City because His Majesty the King needed Lady Aurora to craft a Radiant Potion for him. Back then, Veronica entertained me and was surprised that someone chose to walk the mountain path alone to Celestial Vault Castle...and then immediately attacked me.” Laine gave a wry smile, and from the look on his face, everyone could tell it wasn’t a pleasant memory: ”It was later that Lady Griffin, who happened to be visiting Celestial Vault Castle, recognized me.”

”Pfft~ You actually ran into that person.” Teresa covered her mouth, chuckling like an ice lotus blooming: ”What on earth were you doing going to Celestial Vault Castle alone?”

”It was both a training and a delivery. Lady Dietlinde tasked me with finding a Harpy’s Heart, which I got, so I delivered it to her.” Laine raised his right hand: ”And then I exchanged it for this Space Ring with some extra money.”

”Wow, I’m so envious~” The Half-Elf looked at the ring on Laine’s right index finger, her face full of envy: ”In the forest, only the Forest Lord and Curse Mages—that is, Wizards—can have a Space Ring.”

The production ability of magical items by Wood Elves is not as high as their High Elf counterparts, and humans are also not a race suited for using magic, so the production of magical items is relatively low. This is mainly because the creation of a magical item implies a loss of Magic Power for the creator, a loss that is quite significant and requires a long time of practice and rest to recover, so magical items are extremely precious.

”The heart of a Harpy is incredibly valuable! I say, Mr. Laine, how did you get it?” Rost listened to the conversation among the few people, feeling that they were in good spirits, so he seized the opportunity to join the discussion.

”It’s quite simple, just two steps: first, stick your hand into the Harpy’s chest, and second, pull out its heart.” Laine laughed.

”Hahaha~”

”Haha~ Indeed, it’s simple.”

”What Mr. Laine says makes sense, just pull it out, right everyone?”

”Yes, yes!”

The words of the Kingdom Knight brought laughter among the caravan.

”Next time you come to Celestial Vault Castle, remember to inform me, and I’ll arrange a room for you. When the time comes, I’ll show you the most beautiful sea of clouds at Celestial Vault Castle.” The female sorcerer gazed at the sea of clouds before her, speaking gently to Laine.

”Wow! Is this an invitation?” For once, Laine joked lightly: ”Since our mission has just started... Well, if we successfully complete this mission, there’s nothing wrong with visiting Celestial Vault Castle.”

”Then it’s settled.” Teresa nodded, smiling at the man with her cherry lips curling up, looking stunning.

The other men present all pouted, thinking how fortunate it was for this Kingdom Knight to receive an invitation from Councillor Jialan.

The horses’ hooves trod softly on meadows, making the cart’s progress quite smooth. As they ascended the ridge, the panoramic view of clouds in the sky and fog in the valleys unfolded before them, like a fairy tale world at the horizon.

After progressing for more than three hours, the noon sun indicated it was time to eat. Everyone sat down on the ground, boiled water, and cooked. Laine once again demonstrated his ability, and after a flash in his hands, the pile of wood was easily lit, allowing the caravan to quickly enjoy hot water and food.

After finishing lunch, they were preparing to hit the road again. Halfway through packing, a black dot appeared at the far end of their vision. Rost reacted the fastest: ”What is that? Billger! Billger is back! There must be something going on!”

Laine instinctively stood up from the ground as the gray-robed Billger, riding a fast horse, quickly came to everyone’s front: ”There’s a situation, a group of goblins is coming this way!”

”How many? What level?”

”About twenty or thirty Goblin Wolf Riders, and even more Goblin Spearmen, they’ll be here in about ten minutes,” Billger responded loudly.

”Aik, Rost, Estelle, you come with me! Teresa, stay with Viert and protect the caravan.” Laine immediately made a decision and quickly mounted his horse: ”Mr. Billger, you ensure the safety of Mr. Oliver and the others.”

”Understood!”

The caravan guards reacted swiftly, evidently having faced such situations before. They skillfully and orderly formed a defensive position around the wagon, while Laine and others mounted their horses.

”Ahhh~ Here they come, gentlemen, it’s time to fight!” The Wandering Knight Aik was very excited, mounting his horse and drawing his longsword, raising his shield, and several Wandering Knights mounted one after another, with Estelle already charging ahead on horseback.

As they pulled the reins, the battle was about to begin.

As a few of them climbed the slope, several black dots appeared on the horizon at the end of their sight.

These were several small-sized monsters with broad faces, long ears, and recessed noses, looking very fierce, all green-bodied, holding primitive spears and wooden clubs, riding on tall wargs, and they also seemed to have noticed Laine’s group.

”Waagh!” The leading goblin, slightly larger in size, shouted, and the rest of the goblins responded one after another: ”Waaaaaagh!”

”Humans! Kill!”

”Kill!!!”

”Tch, seeing those goblins shouting like that is really laughable.” Half-Elf Estelle, who had seen the world, stood on the hill, pulled a feathered arrow from the quiver behind him, strung his bow, and shot it with a piercing sound echoing through the air.
